POV: Raphael
After our dinner, I spent quality time cuddling with her and having a good time. She couldn’t stop talking about Miguel, she was so excited about her new friend that I felt the need to let her retain her smiles and excitement by urging her to keep hanging out with him if that would make her smile more often. She looks so beautiful when she smiles, hanging out with him seems to bring out the best in her, and that’s okay.
As a matter of fact, I’m ashamed to admit that he makes her more happy in one day than I’ve done since we met. I kept asking her questions about him, coaxing her to tell me more about him. I listened to her just to find out everything he said to her. I felt relieved when she didn’t mention anything about their relationship as siblings. It’s either he doesn’t know yet that she is his long lost sister, or there is something else holding him back from telling her the truth about her real family.
I need to find out the hospital they had admitted Victoria into when she was a baby, I want to know the name of the hospital so I can open an investigation into the disappearance of Victoria as a baby. I will have all the files about her review, I’m sure I will find something in those files that will prove that Victoria is the Myers’ missing child.
Hopefully, I would find something there too that would prove that the Kendalls were present the way she went missing in the hospital. The log book or the doctor’s appointment register will help me prove that the Kendalls were there that day. If I can establish the fact that they were there the day she was stolen, then it wouldn’t be difficult for people to believe that the baby in their possession is not really theirs but she belongs to the Myers.
If I can prove that they stole her, I would then be able to go to Austin Kendall and Vera and threaten them with all the evidence I have. Even if Vera is not the one who stole the baby, the fact remains that she knows the truth all along and she chose to do nothing about it. I will prove that the Kendalls have an obligation to the girls, and when I have all the proof I need, then I’ll force Austin Kendall to sign over the company to the girls like their mom always wanted.
If I could get my hands on all the files pertaining to the investigation of Victoria’s disappearance, I may also find out who the true parents of Claire are. I’m pretty sure that both girls were stolen from the same hospital. So both cases will be handled by the same department. All I need to do is to find out the people who handled the investigation, then all will be solved.
If I can’t find the police officers involved in that case, then I would have to settle for the information I can steal from Eloise Kendall, Victoria’s mother. If only I could find the documents signed to adopt both girls into the Kendall family, then Austin Kendall and Eloise Kendall would have no choice but to release their inheritance and hand over the company to Victoria.
I don’t know how they got the girls from the hospital, but I’m sure they paid someone to forge the paperwork to prove that the girls were legally adopted. Without that paperwork, the right authorities would have invaded their privacy and carried the girls away. But that didn’t happen because they had the right paperwork for the adoption of the girls.
I need to get my hands on that document I need to know what he has been up to, I need to find out who they called to get the fake document. There is so much that I need to talk to Austin, Vera, and Eloise about. If I could just find out which of them is the most kindhearted person who has even an iota of guilt in them. That is the person I would go to.
But unfortunately, none of them feel guilty for what they have done to these girls, they don’t even think they did something wrong to the girls. Eloise would do anything to keep the girls to herself and stop them from having friends and meeting her real family. As for Austin, all he cares about is the money he would make out of the girls. If he had his way he would set up an auction house and sell them off to the highest bidder just for the money and for the fun of it.
He’s surely going to have much fun if he gets money from selling them off. He would have the best time of his life at their expense. I’ll make sure I make him regret the day he made that decision to separate two innocent babies from their mother, I’ll make him lose everything he has. He will have no choice but to go on his knees and beg Victoria and Claire for forgiveness. For his sake, I hope the girls are not as hard hearted as he is.
“Have I told you how sorry I am about today?” I asked her as she lay in my arms.
“Yes, you have, and you just made it up to me, remember?” she teased, blushing so hard at her own words, biting her lips. I chuckled at her reaction and I pulled her closer to me and kissed her lips softly. I was shocked to find out that she was no longer furious at me or her sister for the way we behaved this afternoon. She is full of joy and excitement as she talks about this guy. There is nothing in this world that would make her to hate this guy, not after he just showed her what it means to have a brother who truly cares about you.
To be fair, I’m a bit jealous of her relationship with her brother. My own brothers would kill me the first chance they got without thinking twice about it. He knows he will have to share his inheritance with her, but that is not a problem, he doesn’t care about the money, he just wants to be reunited with his sister. He loved her even before he met her. That is what true love and family are all about.
I won’t stop her from meeting with him and spending time with him, I will just have to find out if Miguel and I are on the same page before she finds out the truth from him. I don’t want him to try and separate us, I won’t allow it. I will have to pay a visit to his condo and let him know what I think about his reunion with his sister. He has to understand that I will not sit back and let him take her away from me. He has to know that I care about his sister and I won’t sit by idly and let him take her away from me.
But first I need to get the report from Carl that confirms her real background. My mind diverted to the tasks I gave to Carl and I decided to check if he had sent me any of the files I requested for. I went straight to my email and I saw that he had sent me some files already. I clicked on the file that says DNA result and it confirmed my suspicions that they are related.
Carl sent me the DNA results I asked for and it was a 99. 9 percent match. They are truly siblings, no doubt about that. Now I need to have a long talk with Miguel and Dominic as well. Now I have to get Eloise to come clean with the girls and help us to find the documents we need to help Victoria and Claire to get all their inheritance from the Kendalls.
This is going to be more difficult than I anticipated, there are many unanswered questions that only Austin or Eloise will be able to answer for us. After reuniting Victoria and her real family, I also need to help Dominic to find Claire’s family and reunite her with her family too. It’s a lot to take in, the girls will be so confused. Hell, I’m confused as well, I have no idea how the Kendalls were able to pull this off and get away with it for all these years. That is one story I would love to hear from Eloise herself.
