POV: Miguel
“Pay Daddy and let me make you a happy man, my love. Who needs Victoria when you can have all of this and more,” she lets out excitedly, coming to stand in front of me.
“Why don’t you be a good boy and pay the damn money!” She added annoyingly, rubbing her hand on my head and caressing my cheeks and moving down to my chest. I caught her hand before she could go any further and I twisted her hand to her back, making her yell in pain and call out to her parents and the guards, crying out for help.
“Who the hell do you even think that you are?
Do you know what I can do to you and your parents?
Have you ever tried to investigate my family background, do you know what I am capable of?” I screamed at her, holding her hand backward until the guards pulled her out of my hand. Even after I was pulled away, I continued moving in her direction to strangle her to death. How did they raise her to be so evil and manipulative?
If she could be this mean to me that she is meeting for the very first time, what would she have done to Victoria all these years that they grew up together, how did Marisol survive with these people?
“Daddy, don’t do it, don’t let him get the evidence he’s looking for to appease his pretty sister’s heart. I won’t let her have a billionaire brother and a billionaire boyfriend. She will be richer than I am. That’s not fair!” she whined like a spoilt little brat that she obviously is. I ignored her whining about and faced her father squarely I stood toe-to-toe with Austin Kendall, fury radiating from me like heat from a fire.
“I will destroy you in this city,” I told him, my voice echoing off the elegant walls of the mansion.
“I will make you beg for mercy at my feet while my sister watches you grovel at her feet. You will regret your decision to make money off my family for something you orchestrated. I will sink you, Austin. I will bury you!” I told him furiously, meaning every damn word.
Austin laughed…
Yeah, he laughed at me so hard, a cold, unrepentant sound that only infuriated me more. To think that he doesn’t even have an ounce of remorse. He ordered his guards to push me away dismissively, showing his nonchalance.
“You think I care about your threats, huh?
Well, let me make this very clear to you that I don’t care about you or your sister. But I’ll tell you what I do care about, Miguel…
I care about money. Fifty million dollars and I’ll tell you everything about her kidnapping. I will help you apprehend the perpetrators and provide sufficient evidence to apprehend them.” He repeated, standing proudly with his hand in his pocket as he stared at me. I can’t blame his wife for trying to work with Raphael behind him. This shows that he is very unreasonable.
I pushed his guards away, and I continued yelling and threatening Austin Kendall because, in my heart of hearts, I still wanted to find out the truth about that day that Marisol was kidnapped. I want to know how she got to the Kendalls and how she was stolen without anyone in the hospital seeing them. I can’t walk away and give him the satisfaction that I was giving up so easily. I won’t be seen as a weakling, never.
Obviously, Austin Kendall is a greedy man, all he wants is money and fame, nothing more. he is unrepentant and he doesn’t care about anything else. so if I ever want to find out the truth, I will have to explore other options. Yeah, that is what I’m going to do. I have been thinking about it since their daughter opened her damn mouth to speak with me.
I noticed that all the while that Austin and his daughter were making their silly demands, she never said a word about it to either support them or stop them from making such ridiculous demands from me. If I’m not mistaken, this must be the reason why Raphael and Dominic came to her and not to Austin.
He must have made the same demands from them and that is established them to his wife instead. She must be the same one here, so in going to try and find out what she knows. I’m not sure she would go against her husband after his warning a few minutes ago. She isn’t saying anything because she hasn’t made a decision yet. When she makes her decision, I would love to be by her side so I can influence her to make the right decision.
I’m sure after her last attempt to betray him failed, she will be cautious this time. But at the same time, I believe she is not stupid to trust him, she will not going to stop trying to make her own money and be independent. Austin Kendall seems like a man who would never spend his money on his family. I think it’s better to do business with his wife, she seems to be more reliable than the greedy fool.
I can bet my entire fortune that Austin Kendall will not stop demanding for money if I dare transfer a dime to him. He will milk me for every dime I have and he will never be satisfied with his wealth. My heart raced as I thought of different ways to communicate with his wife. I’m a bit nervous, but I know I have to keep my composure. I kept yelling and screaming at Austin and his daughter, distracting them. They focused on me, laughing and threatening me too.
But I achieved my aim because they were distracted by my threats and abuses and they didn’t notice when I discreetly slipped a burner phone to Austin’s second wife, Vera, when they both weren’t looking. She must be good at these deals because she cautiously slipped the phone into her boobs and it disappeared under her dress without traces. I smiled to myself as I had just achieved my aim. Then I turned to Austin with a look that made him take a step back because he thought I was going to pounce on him the next minute,
“I will wait patiently for your response to my request,” I warned, my voice low and threatening.
“If I don’t hear from you in two days, it means you are guilty of kidnapping my sister. And that simply means that the next time I come down here, I will not be coming alone, and I won’t bargain with you anymore. I will come fully prepared with my boys, and I will bring the cops to get you arrested.” I told him angrily before turning and leaving his house.
There was no need to exchange words with them anymore, I turned to leave and I didn’t look back anymore. On my way out, I faced some challenges at the gate because the security guards were confused about how I snuck into the building without their knowledge. Luckily, I was able to talk my way through the security guards. Then I got out and I walked back to my car that was parked a few blocks away. The moment I got to my car, I called the burner phone that I had just given to Vera and I said,
“I’d prefer paying you for information than giving my money to your greedy, stupid husband. Find out everything he knows and wait for my call. I need hard evidence to implicate anyone involved in the kidnapping of my sister. Get it done and I will transfer a hundred million dollars to you if I am satisfied with the information you provided.” I told her firmly, ending the call before she could say a word to me.
I know she got the message and she understands me perfectly. I will not stop, I will uncover the truth, no matter the cost. I will get all the evidence I need without speaking with Austin. I wonder if I can get this done before our twenty-fifth birthday. I have a bigger issue waiting at home, it’s the main reason why I have not informed anyone at home about her yet.
