Still Shane’s POV
I may be wrong, but if my guess is correct, then Valerie Keller is the last healer that everyone has been waiting for. I mean, she got this brightness around her, and she radiates light everywhere she goes. Not to mention the fact that she has the kind of beauty that forces men to go to war and fight to have her. I mean that literally, yes, that’s right. Men fight for this girl, I would fight to have her any day, and the same goes for any guy that has ever set his eyes on her. I fought for her, and I don’t regret it one bit because she deserves all the love and cares a man has to offer. I’ve been with many girls before, including my sister, but I’ve never met a girl like her before, she has a way of calming my spirit and bringing out the best in me. She is one girl I desire to have, and I was ready to fight for her love, In fact, I still am. I’m prepared to do whatever it takes to make her mine.
I could remember the last time I fought a guy for her affection, that was just last night, I mean, a few hours ago. Cameron has brought me along to a private date she has with Maverick and another guy because she wanted me to ruin the night for Valerie and make her feel special. I was there for my sister, I was supposed to make her feel beautiful and adorable, but immediately set my eyes on Valerie that night, I lost my senses. I was comfortably seated with the other guy, Liam when she walked in, looking so fucking gorgeous. There is no denying her beauty, and as she walked into the dimly lit room, she had everyone turning to acknowledge her beauty. I couldn’t help it, I fell for her as well, and I felt jealous and angry that she was here because of another man, and she dresses beautifully to please another man. Then when she ignored everyone and walked towards Liam, he opened his arms to receive her warmly. He pecked her cheeks, wrapping his arms around her hips as he pulled her to the couch.
“For a moment there, I thought you were going to cancel our date. I’m glad you could make it, I’m glad you are here” He let out in a whisper, placing another peck on her cheek, making her giggle softly as his warm breath fanned her ears, tickling and pleasing her. He forgot that I even existed, he forgot that we were having a conversation before she walked in. He was acting all lovey-dovey, and she was responding to him as well,
“I told you, Liam, my boss is a man of his word, so there is no way I would cancel this date, not when he has given you his word that we are going to be here tonight. Besides, I’m happy to be here as well. It’s been a long since I had fun in the club. I’ve been super busy with work these days. I’m glad you invited me, Liam, I want to say thank you for all you did for me back home, I’m not sure I would have survived without you. Thank you, Liam.” she let out with a smile, and he responded with a smile of his own, staring into her eyes, looking like a fucking idiot. Fine, they seem to know each other from before, and they look good together as well. But this guy needs to stand in the queue like the rest of us that have a thing for this girl. He can’t come in here and take her from me, I was not going to sit by and let that happen.
“Let us not talk about the past or anything concerning the home. Let us put the past behind us and focus on the present. I missed you, Valerie, and now that I’ve found you, I’m going to make you mine, no matter what it takes.” He asserted firmly, leaning to place a kiss on her lips.
Can you imagine that?
He wanted to kiss and make out with a girl I’m tripping for. They were so close to locking lips in front of me, and I could feel a burning anger inside of me, and all I could think of was how I was going to sabotage that damn relationship. It all happened so damn fast, and I couldn’t come up with a better plan on such short notice, so I did the only thing that came to mind at that moment, I burst into laughter immediately. I laughed so hysterically, like a fucking lunatic, trying desperately to gain their attention and make them look stupid. I could feel an angry vibe around me, and I know I was not the only one hating this public show of affection between them.
“What’s so funny Shane, why don’t you share your very hilarious joke so everyone can share your humor,” she let out in annoyance, turning to glare at me furiously. I love the fact that I was getting on her nerves, I love the fact that I was able to stop her from sucking his lips while I sit here and watch. If getting on her nerves is going to stop her from making out with him, I was ready to provoke her all night long.
“Oh, come on, Val, don’t tell me you are going to sit there and pretend as if you don’t know why I find this hilarious or did you not tell him that other guys have tried keeping you as a fiancee?” I responded coldly, keeping my eyes fixed on hers as she sneered at me for acting like a fucking asshole. I ignored her and turned to the guy in question,
“Don’t waste your time on her man, she is a fucking stripper, a whore. And even if she decides to stick with one man, l I’m pretty sure that she would have chosen me because…”
“You fucking asshole!” she cursed in anger, glaring furiously at Cameron and I. I’m guessing she feels like this is a plot between Cameron and I. If only she knows that Cameron was equally furious with me for making her feel special while she sits there begging to be noticed by her man, Maverick. I was trying to make Liam feel like he is not needed here because Valerie and I share a special bond, but she wouldn’t let me finish my statement as she tried to defend herself, trying to make me look stupid.
“What are you talking about?” Liam asked me curiously as he stared at us, waiting for an explanation.
“What I’m saying is that this beautiful damsel is mine and nobody else. I met her right here in this club, and she used to…”
“I believe what this idiot is trying to say is that I used to be a stripper in this club.” she cuts me short before I could say it, and she spills everything to him, not minding the fact that he would get upset about it. Trust me, I was shocked at the way she handled it so beautifully. She is the king of beauty that has brains as well and my love for her increased that night even if she still hates my guts for trying to ruin her beautiful moment with her man. He looked shocked by her confession, but there was no trace of anger in his eyes, just shock and care,
“I gave you some money, Val. And I asked you to call me when you settle in. I can’t believe you choose to be a stripper instead of seeking me out. If only you had reached out to me and kept in touch as I asked you to, I would have taken care of your needs, you would never have worked for anyone, not even for Mr. Huntington.” I was disappointed with his reaction, he wasn’t getting angry with her, and he showed no sign of leaving her, and that made me so furious. Even Alpha Maverick was not pleased with his words, but he couldn’t do anything about it because they are into business together. She knew this guy many years ago and it infuriates me to know that she had a good relationship with him, whereas I’m here begging to be noticed by her.
“I never wanted your help Liam, and you fucking knew it. I did what I could to survive, and trust me, I loved my job. Besides, I couldn’t trust you with my location, I couldn’t risk getting caught by my family, and…” She took a dramatic pause, wishing she hasn’t said too much. I guess she doesn’t want the rest of us to know about her family background. As far as I know, Liam is the only guy that has that information, and that gives him an edge over me. And you know how that makes me feel?
Angry…
So fucking furious.
“I did what I had to do, Liam. I don’t regret anything I did in the past, so can we move past this and enjoy our night, or are you calling it quit already?” she teased him in that sexy voice that makes my dick pulse with life, making him giggle as he pulled her into his arms and captured her lips in a warm, passionate kiss that left her gasping for breath when he finally broke it up.
“I’m not going anywhere, love. I’m never letting you out of my sight again.” He promised her, smiling like a fucking lunatic, making me even more jealous as they displayed their affection in front of me shamelessly. I wanted to do more, I want to fight for her love, and I was ready to punch him in the face if Cameron didn’t drag me out of the damn room to get my eyes off her. As expected, she was so furious with me and she warned me to get my acts together, warning me to keep my eyes off Valerie.
“You are mine, Shane!
I won’t let you be with her or any other girl, I want you all to myself!” she scolded me furiously, pulling me into a dark corner for a quickie before we returned to the private booth again. Sometimes I think she is too possessive, and I wonder how I would end this thing between us when the time is right. She seems so attached to me that I fear that she won’t let go of me so easily. I guess she will need to be reminded that we are still siblings, and I will have to continue the family lineage with a woman someday. I may be forced to leave this pack at some point, but that would be after I put an end to my father’s madness and make sure she stays on the right path.
And as for Valerie, I’m not giving up on her yet, I fought for her before, and I’m willing to do it again and again. I’m not giving up on her.
