Arabella’s Pov
I literally had to plead with him to spare Declan’s life because I could see the hatred and anger in his eyes as he glared furiously at Declan.
I was equally surprised when he listened to me and turned around to leave the restaurant in his furious state. He had only instructed me to meet him in his suite in thirty seconds, then he turned around and stormed out of the restaurant with his friends following closely behind him.
I heaved a sigh of relief as he left without creating a scene. A few seconds after they left, the two ladies walked back inside and they sat down on the far end of the restaurant.
Without being told, I knew that they were sent here to make sure that I keep to my promise. They both ordered a glass of milkshake each and they got engaged in a girly dialogue, acting like I don’t even exist.
I stood at the same spot lost in my own thoughts. Would I be able to do anything he asks me?? Would he force me to be his mate??
Funny enough, there’s a part of me that actually wants him to take me by force. What could be better than being mated to that handsome, thick muscled Alpha?? He’s so irresistibly hot and if not for my awkward past, I would have jumped into his arms on that first day we met.
But, I can’t let him take me back. They would kill me without second thoughts when they find out that I am the great white wolf. I just have to come up with a good reason to keep him away from me.
“What was that all about??
Who was that guy and why the hell was he staring at you in that manner??” Declan asked in anger as he turned me around to face him with his hand on my waist. I have even forgotten that he’s standing right behind me all this while. My head is in many places right now. I need to come up with a perfect story for Declan also.
From the look of things that Alpha is not planning to leave anytime soon. They are bound to cross paths anytime soon. I have to come up with a good reason to have him around, that way, Declan won’t pick up a fight with him.
I turned to the girls that were sitting right there in the restaurant, they both have their eyes on us and they don’t look too happy. I followed their line of gaze and I saw that they weren’t happy because Declan had his hands on my waist.
Dear God!!!
This is going to be much harder than I thought. How do I answer Declans questions and also escape from this date?? It’s more than thirty seconds and the girls are still glaring at me with angry frowns on their faces.
At that moment, Debbie walked into the restaurant with a smile plastered on her face. She is always this excited whenever Declan is around. She calls him her knight in shining armor because he had helped me to cover up her mistakes on the night we met at that party.
Am sure that she would have loved to be his girlfriend also but he had chosen me instead and she has never felt bad about it because we are both her friends.
When Debbie approached our table, a crazy idea just popped up in my head and I decided to go with it because I don’t have any other choice.
“Am so sorry my love. He’s our friend from college and he’s been hitting on Debbie for so long but Debbie is giving him a hard time.
I promised I was going to set up a blind date for him and Debbie today but I totally forgot about it. He was expecting to meet her today and she wasn’t here, that’s why he was so upset.” I lied through my teeth without stuttering for even a second and it sounded so convincing and true.
Jeez!!!
I’m such a stinking liar!!!
“Hmmm, I actually thought it was something more serious because he looked pretty upset.” he remarked with a one sided smile on his face.
I offered a small smile also as I heaved a relieved sigh. Debbie had gone into the kitchen to check on the chefs. She’s now walking towards us with that same smile on her face.
Just as she got closer to us, I stood up happily to welcome her with a bear hug and I used the opportunity to whisper into her ears,
“The Alpha is here and I have to go meet him right now or he’s going to kill Declan. Follow my lead and back up my lies please,”
I giggled as I released her from my hug and I asked her about her trip to the restaurant, but she wasn’t giggling with me, her face was so white from her obvious shock and she couldn’t utter a single word.
Derek was looking so confused at her reaction and I know that he’ll soon start asking questions again so I scrunched up my face and held my stomach tight, feigning stomach cramps.
“What’s wrong my love, you don’t look so good??” he asked in concern as he moved over to stand beside me.
“Am fine honey. I just have so many cramps because of my monthly flow. It wasn’t this bad earlier, I guess the wine I took must have made it worse.” I lied again as I looked at Debbie who seems to be stuck in a trance since I told her that the Alpha was here.
“Why didn’t you tell me about it?? I wouldn’t have let you come up here, I would have canceled this date so you can take all the time you need to rest.” he scolded me calmly.
“Am sorry my love, I just wanted to be with you. We’ve never been on a date because of our busy schedules you know. I just wanted today to be special.” I said sincerely because that is the truth. If not for the interference of the Alpha and his troupes, I would have loved to have a memorable first date with him. Now am ditching him to go bargain with the Alpha to let me go.

“Come on Bells we have many years ahead of us, we have a beautiful future ahead of us. I don’t like seeing you like this, What do you say we cancel this date and get you back in bed. I promise, I’ll make out time this week and we’ll do this again.” he said with a smile as he leaned over to kiss my lips gently.
I could feel the anger radiating off the ladies that were keeping an eye on me. They can’t bear to see him touching me too and I know it’s because of him.
I let him lift me up and lead me towards the exit. As I stood up, I let my legs hit Debbie so she can snap out of that horrific look on her face. She yelled in pain but her face remained blank and expressionless. Just before we left he turned to Debbie and said,
“Debs, I don’t really know why you look like a ghost right now but I just want to advise you to give that guy a chance. From the look on his face, he truly cares about you. Just give him a chance, would you? you never know, he could be the right guy for you.
I could tell that Debbie is confused at his words but her current shocked expression hid the confusion on her face very well.
Declan walked me to my suite and tucked me into my bed with such care and warmth and he pecked my cheeks and my lips before heading home.
I jumped out of the bed as soon as he left and I yelled at Debbie in anger,
“What the hell is wrong with you?? Do you want to get us all killed?? I told you to play along and you chose to turn into a zombie. That was not cool Debs, not cool at all.” I scolded her in annoyance as I paced the room.
“Don’t blame me, I freaked out because I don’t know what else to do?? Are they stalking you?? Will they kill us all?? Am so scared Bells.” she said hysterically as she flopped on the couch in frustration.
“He won’t kill me. I think am his mate and he only wants to have me. He doesn’t know about my family yet. I’ll just tell him about my father and he’ll leave. No Alpha would be willing to associate with traitors like us.
He’ll reject me and let me go when he finds out that my father is a traitor. I just have to try as much as possible to hide my Aura from him. If he finds out that my wolf is the great white wolf, he may turn me over to the King.
Just keep calm and take that look off your face, everything is going to be alright. Am just going to locate his suite.”
Just on cue, we heard a knock on the door. Debbie screamed out in fear and I glared at her before going to open the door.
They both stood outside my door smiling like clowns and I had to wonder if they were the same girls that were glaring at me at the restaurant just now.
“Hi…. They both said in unison and I just stared at them like a moron.
“I think we got off on the wrong start. Am Celine and she is Josephine. We are mates to Brian and Derek and since you’re going to be mated to Michael, I think we should be friends. What do you think??”
The first girl asked with a huge smile on her face. I nodded my head at her in affirmation and they both smiled widely as they engulfed me in a bear hug that nearly choked the life out of me.
I can’t tell them that I have no plans to be with their Alpha, it’ll break their heart. I have to sort it with the Alpha himself.
They both chatted happily as they led me to their Alpha.
I hope he rejects me, just like the others did.
