A cursed Wednesday arrives.
Zayn and Cassandra could feel their hearts pounding harder and harder every minute that passes by in their lives. Every minute closer to Louis Johnson’s death time. They didn’t want to lose any of the hints ever given.
And as a result, they bunk their classes even if attendance was mandatory and important for their classes. As for Zayn who was having an internship at his brother’s office, he insisted that he or her stay close to Louis all the time.
It was around 3 pm when Louis finally gets off of some serious work and had some time to spare to eat. As he was eating his lunch, he senses the two hawks trying to eat his food. He blinks rapidly at them.
To him, Cassandra and Zayn looked like two famished children who were trying their hardest not to pounce on him and steal his food. It was true that Louis makes his own food in the morning everyday. And considering Cassandra who could now eat a whole ass cow if hungry, he was scared that he would lose his lunch and a few fingers if he tried to feed them.
But it was only his imagination.
“What do you guys want from me?” He finally asks the question.
“Nothing.”
“Nothing.”
They answer at the same time, mimicking a robot. Louis feels his eye twitch at their behavior.
“Okay. Now you guys are freaking me out. Could you at least turn around-”
“No.”
“Nah.”
Louis sighs in defeat. He knew it was coming.
“Thought so.” Quickly gulping his lunch, he singularly walks to the elevator, knowing his two tails would follow him anywhere he would go.
He sighs for the umpteenth time already upon pressing the G floor to reach the cafeteria.
“Why are we here?” Zayn asks Louis, because he was sure that Louis had no schedule for now.
“I thought you guys were hungry-”
“I am! You’re the best brother. What are you buying for me?” Louis leans against the counter as he sighs, again.
“Like I said a thousand times already, Cassie. I own everything in this building. Mrs. Caroline, please assist them.”
“Yes, boss.” Smiling at the old woman, he leaves to sit at the special counter reserved for special guests like himself.
“Now, tell me why you two have been sticking at my waist and following me everywhere I go.” As the male demands over apple juice, Zayn and Cassandra look at each other.
“Because we’re your siblings.”
“You think I’m gonna buy that crap. Tell me what’s going on, you two. You guys may think you’re slick, but I’m Louis Johnson The Great. Tell me.” The guy demands as the two begin fake coughing at his greatness.
Louis gives them a bored expression, sipping on his apple juice anyway.
“Forget that. How is my sister in law doing in your mansion? Did she finally tell her parents who she’s dating?” Cassandra wittily changes the topic.
“Oh, not at all. I wanna respect her decision to keep our dating life private. And you two talk too much. Could you stop glaring at me like that, Zayn?” He points to the male who was, indeed, glaring at him with thoughts.
“Wow, that’s weird.” Cassandra says, scooting closer to Louis.
“You… wanna say something?”
“Yeah. Jessica isn’t really a medico student, right?” Louis widens his eyes and gives it away.
“I KNEW IT! SHE’S J. L. BERT! OMG!” beginning to fangirl about this mysterious girl, Zayn quickly rises to his feet.
“I can’t believe it’s her! Do you even realise how popular she is, Louis? She’s the God of fiction! Damn!”
“I feel out of the conversation. What’s going on?” And so, Zayn proceeds to fervently express about Jessica Albert and her rich fictional stories that she wrote in the past few months. Zayn was a fan of her fiction.
“You helped her publish her books too?”
“Yeah man. But you know what?” Sitting beside Cassandra, Louis tells them how Jessica would rather study or use the table to write her books and never spend quality time with her man. He feels lonely even if she was at home with him.
“Aw, you’re so unlucky to fall in love with an authoress!”
“Ack! Don’t say that Cass. I love her and I am loving her more now than before as I watch her chase her dreams. She wanted to be an author and write books to entice people. Instead, her family pressurised her to study medicine. But she’s in a great dilemma at the moment.”
“And what might that be?” Cassandra leans in to listen.
“Her heart is submitted to three things now. Her novels, her studies and my ding-dong.”
“Ay!”
“Ew, perv!” Both hit the male who laughs loudly, having made them uncomfortable successfully.
“Okay, okay. I gotta get back to work. My lovely Assistant is yelling at me to come back.” Tapping on his earbud, he takes his leave from the two.
“Hmm… he seems happy with her. I’m glad.”
“Me too. But Alex and Ravine…”
“I’ll see about that after our mission with Louis.” Cassandra says, completing her mountain of food with the last bite of the donut.
Zayn and Cassandra begin to walk back to his cabin when they hear someone’s voice through the muffled door. Cassandra tries to see through the translucent glass, trying to figure out who was holding a stressful conversation with Louis.
Because it was strange and odd to hear Louis raise his voice at anyone.
Zayn looks at Cassandra, “Sounds like Sharon.” Cassandra widens her eyes in realization.
‘That hoe…’
Lately, Sharon has been trying to get back with Louis who subtly turns her down. Saying he wasn’t interested in finding love anymore. He was clever enough to not introduce Jessica to Sharon.
“Honestly,” Cassandra makes an entrance as she strides towards Sharon, “I thought you changed, Sharon.”
She faces up to the taller, older woman.
“Who the fuck do you think you are, Cassandra. It’s something between us. Go away.” Sharon seethes. And it was a big mistake.
Zayn, who always has been a level headed man, steps in front of Cassandra as he says,
“And who the fuck you think you are? Yelling at my brother like that?”
