For our sake…
Louis practically jumps out of the car whilst Sharon was scanning the woman half-drenched.
“You’ll catch a cold!”
“I’m leaving…” two different speeches clash.
“What?” Louis questions the young woman. Cassandra has been acting weird and that was seen by everyone around her. She was doing a great job making everyone worry.
The only person who isn’t worrying about Cassandra was Sr Johnson. Their father wasn’t even bothered by the cruel way she dresses up or how she wanted to cut relationships. No one knew why Sr Johnson wasn’t worrying about Cassie. Is there something that lies as a secret between them?
“Leave me alone, Louis…” Cassandra had perceived Sharon was inside the car.
“Hell to the no. You’re coming with me-” Louis says. His warm hand encroached on her slender wrist as he pulls her towards himself. Cassandra however offers violent resistance. She begins clawing at his hand to leave her alone. Her behavior was almost peculiar. It seemed deviant.
“What the hell is with you!?” Louis slaps Cassandra. He’s never raised his hand on anyone, that is how much Cassandra pushed him into.
“Cassie-” She was staring at the tangent direction her head flew towards because of the slap. She couldn’t bawl her eyes out. The clouds were already taking up that job. Cassandra almost started smiling until Sharon decides to step in.
The moments go on such a whim that it took time for Sharon to step into the scene.
“Louis!” She grabs the man’s arm and detached any physical contact between the two. Cassandra doesn’t even bother looking upward. She was done and dusted with everyone.
“Maybe they were right. I need to disappear…” Cassandra mumbles inaudibly. “Wh- who was right? What’s going on, Cassie?” Louis catches on quickly, despite the shock he gave himself by hurting the precious one of his life.
“I am meant to be gone.” She says again, but they barely hear it because of the thunder that strikes at that moment.
“What? I can’t hear you!” Louis grabs her shoulders and shakes her awake. Cassie shakes her head and pretends to look ghostly in one direction. When the chance strikes and the distraction works, Cassandra makes a run for her life where she runs down the road. Barefeet.
“Oh- jeez!” Louis gets inside the car, in hopes of chasing her down the empty and vast lane. But Cassandra herself was a pretty good runner despite the gravel and cracks in the cement road pricking her feet to an irritating extent.
“CASSIE STOP!!” The male’s booming voice must have reached the entire neighborhood, but Cassie doesn’t even pay heed to his cries. She keeps going even though her feet were aching. Limping, she runs into a colony and Louis knew he lost her.
“Dammit!” Louis screams while Sharon tries to track her down but alas, the fog and smog cover up the entire scene in front of her.
Sharon comes back with a thundering heart and shakes her head. Louis bangs his fist on the steering wheel, making Sharon jump.
“Shush… calm down. She’s an intelligent kid.”
“You’re telling me to leave her be in a completely different area and not be bothered? Did you even look at her? She’s gone berserk!!” The man argues.
“This isn’t the way things are supposed to be going.
I’m calling him.”
