Suddenly, a palm connected with Tania’s cheek, sending her head jerking to the side. Tania’s eyes widened in shock as she let out a scream. Vanessa, too, was caught off guard. She gasped loudly as she witnessed the unexpected slap. She should have done that, but she couldn’t get herself to do it despite being mad at Tania.
Disgust etched on Tanisha’s face as she glared at Tania after she had delivered the slap. Her eyes blazed with anger and her chest filled with indignation.
“You witch!” Tanisha spat after she had discovered that she had been deceived by Tania’s words. Now that she had seen Tania’s true colors, she took her for the spiteful person she truly was.
“What do you take us for? Fools? After trying to make her life hell, you still had the nerve to show up here, lying to our faces that you are concerned about her when you are clearly not.” Tanisha paused, catching her breath. “The devil should learn from you.” she added.
With a fierce growl, Tanisha reached out to grab Tania’s hair, her fingers closing into a tight fist. But before she could pull Tania closer, Vanessa jumped in, her hands shooting out to restrain Tanisha.
“No, Tanisha!” she cried out. “She isn’t worth it.” Vanessa’s eyes pleaded with Tanisha, who was a burning flame.
“We have to teach this witch a lesson. She has to understand the consequences of toying with us. She put you through so much and still brought your ex back to us. She is unbelievable.” Tanisha countered as she lurched for Tania again.
“She came here with Emmy? How did Tania and Emmy get to know each other? And why was Emmy not there with Tania? A number of things must have happened since her departure.”
Vanessa articulated but didn’t dwell on it much because her priority was to hold Tanisha back.
Vanessa’s hands gripped Tanisha firmly, stopping her from laying her hands on Vanessa.
“Please, just let it go. She deserves the worst, but she isn’t worth your strength.” Vanessa pleaded again, hoping her sister would listen to her.
Tanisha’s eyes flashed with defiance to teach Tania a lesson, but she slowly relaxed her tension, her chest still heaving with emotion and her eyes still burned in rage.
“I will make sure you pay. I’m coming for you.” Tanisha said as she composed herself, adjusting her clothes.
Meanwhile, Tania stood frozen, her cheek reddening from the slap, her eyes welling up with tears. Tania’s eyes flickered around, searching for an escape route. The only thing that could save her from Tanisha’s wrath was to run away from her, but where would she go? How would she escape? These questions flooded her mind as she turned to flee, her feet pounding the ground at a panic pace.
She had no idea where she was going, only that she needed to escape the confrontation with Tanisha and Vanessa. The fear of being lost in an unfamiliar place gripped her, sending her heart racing. But the fear of being beaten by Tanisha was worse.
As she ran, the idea of calling for help came to her mind. Engrossed in fear, Tania’s fingers trembled as she fumbled with her phone, her thumbs pressing randomly until she managed to dial the first number in her contacts. She didn’t even check to see who it was, just hoping someone would answer.
On the other hand, Darryl’s voice was laced with irritation, as he answered the phone. “Hello?” He said, sounding uninterested.
Tania’s breath came in ragged gasps as she tried to explain her situation, “D-Darryl… I need your help… I don’t know where I am… please… help me.”
“Tania, is this one of your tricks? I don’t have time for your bullshit.” Darryl retorted angrily.
He wasn’t even expecting her to call him, and he didn’t even want to answer the phone. However, he did, and he believed that Tania was in on her tricks again.
“Darryl, I’m serious. It is a long story, but I need your help. Please, get me out of here.” Tania cried, fearing for her life. Scared of the possibility of being lost or being caught by Tanisha and Vanessa.
“Where are you?” Moved by compassion, Darryl asked, hoping to send his driver to get her.
“Oakwood, the town.” Tania answered, her mind racing.
“The town? What the fuck are you doing there?” Darryl uttered in surprise before he controlled himself. “Why am I even surprised?” he said after.
“Please, hurry up” Tania said, her eyes scanning her environment, searching for where to hide and wait for help.
Meanwhile, Vanessa ran after Tania, just to make sure she didn’t get lost. Her voice called out in concern, “Tania, you have to stop, You’ll get lost!” But Tania was too afraid to face what was behind her, and didn’t stop running.
Vanessa’s footsteps echoed through the air as she chased after Tania, her eyes fixed on Tania’s fleeing figure. She was determined to make sure Tania didn’t get lost or hurt, even if it meant running after her and calling out her name.
“Tania, you will get lost.” Vanessa cried out in concern as the distance between them slowly closed, but Tania’s fear kept her from answering Vanessa as she was unsure of what lay ahead.
As Vanessa got closer, she heard the muffling sound, and she followed the lead, calling out Tania’s name repeatedly.
“Darryl, I’m scared, you have to be here on time”, as Tania whispered to Darryl over the phone. Vanessa heard her voice, causing her to find Tania in the corner of the house she was hiding.
“Finally, I found you.” Vanessa said as she saw Tania squatting in the corner, hiding away.
Darryl’s breath stopped, his voice hung in his throat as he heard Vanessa’s voice over the phone. Doubt gripped him at first, but realization dawned on him as he remembered that Tania was capable of doing anything.
Unknowing to her that Tania was on the phone with Darryl, Vanessa stretched her hands forward, offering Tania help. “I don’t like you, but I can’t let you die on me.” Vanessa said, causing Darryl’s doubt to vanish.
Determination to get to Oakwood town gnawed at Darryl as he ended the call. He was ready to go that far because he was sure that Vanessa was there. Relief mixed with joy and hope filled Darryl’s heart as he ran to his car.
For the first time in his life, he was grateful to Tania and her evil ways. If she hadn’t looked for Vanessa, he wouldn’t have found the love of his life. Finally, it was time to make things right and Darryl was willing to do anything to have Vanessa back in his life.
