“The moment she parks her car, I will walk up to her and engage her in a conversation.”
“Okay, Boss.”
“Good. While talking to her, you will come close by and spray the substance.”
“I got it, Boss,” Jude agreed.
“Be careful, so you don’t spray too much. She is my woman.”
“Oh!”
“Yes. We had a little misunderstanding and she walked away,” he lied to him to spur him to be committed to the tasks.
“So sorry boss. You will get her back.”
“I pray so.”
Now, he had psyched him and he was willing to give his best. Then, Stephen checked his time, and it was 7:15 AM.
“She would be here any moment from now,” he pointed out and they began to wait in his car.
According to their plans, they expect that Nichole would be unconscious as a result of the substance. Afterward, they would move her to the passenger’s seat, and he would drive her away while his partner would drive his car and come behind him.
Meanwhile, at 8:00 AM, they saw Nichole who was dressed in her nurse uniform, driving in with her car. Then, Stephen and his partner swung into action.
At The Bailey International Conglomerates.
Denise had reported to work as early as 7:30 AM and got himself busy with work. At 10:20 AM, he needed to see his father over an official issue and decided to walk to his office.
To his consternation, his secretary said, “He is yet to arrive, Young Master.”
He looked at his wristwatch and asked her, “Why? This is unlike him.”
“You are right?”
“It is okay, Mrs. Felix. I will check back later.”
“It is all right.”
Nevertheless, he did not bother to call him, since he would always check back. When it comes to official matters, he gave his father the respect due to him.
Meanwhile, on the lonely road, the three supposed policemen were tired of waiting for the man with the car description that Stephen gave to them. As a matter of twist, they had worked for the government for the day, and the government must appreciate them.
In their despair, they began to murmur.
“We had been here for almost four hours. What is happening?”
“I’m amazed too. Does Stephen want to joke with us?”
“He can do whatever he wants. My concern is our full payment.”
“That is it.”
“We have given him four hours of our time and he must pay us.”
“Certainly. There is no compromise. If we wait for another fifteen minutes, and we do not see the man, we will leave.”
“Yes. And he must pay us.”
Their waiting turned out to be another fifteen minutes of regret.
At The Government Hospital.
She parked between a stream of cars. When she was about to get out of her car, Stephen and his partner walked up to her. As usual, everyone was minding his or her business and hardly noticed what was going on.
“Good morning, Nichole,” Stephen greeted her.
Before she could look up, his partner sprayed (Pif. Pif) the substance as they had agreed.
“Oh, my God!” She screamed.
Without delay, Stephen covered her mouth while his partner walked to the passenger’s door. He opened it and dragged her to the passenger’s seat while Stephen sat on the driver’s seat. Then, Jude shut the door and walked back to Stephen’s car. Likewise, they drove off effortlessly. When they got to the exit gate of the hospital, Stephen became edgy.
‘Won’t the security guards suspect why she is sleeping and leaving immediately?’ he asked himself.
To his surprise, they smiled, and one of them remarked, “She just got out of duty, right?”
He nodded and handed the security card to him. Then, the security guard opened the gate, and they drove off.
“Mission accomplished,” he mumbled in triumph and gave his dream woman a loving look.
At the Bailey International Conglomerates
Arthur got to his office at 10:35 AM and his Secretary greeted him, “Good morning, Mr. Bailey.”
“Good morning, Mrs. Felix. How is your family?” he asked and inched towards his door.
She followed him and inquired, “My family is fine. You are late. I hope there is no problem if I may ask?”
“Thank you for asking. There’s no problem.”
“I see. Young Master was here a few minutes ago to see you.”
“It is all right. Tell him I’m around and that I wish to see him now.”
“I got it, Boss,” she answered and returned to her desk.
Afterward, Arthur walked into his office thrilled because his dream was coming to pass. Soon, Denise arrived.
“Good morning, Father. It is good to see you.”
“Good morning, Denise. Kindly sit down.”
Denise took his seat on the visitors’ seat, and his father continued, “It is good to see you, Son. I learned that you checked on me earlier.”
“Yes, Father. You were not as early as you used to be. I hope there is no problem?”
“You are right. I decided to go to the registry regarding our marriage process before coming.”
“That is good. It is at hand. Thursday is just by the corner.”
“Yes. But the good news is that we are getting married tomorrow.”
“Tomorrow?”
“Yes. That is what the registrar told me. It was good that I went there today; otherwise, we would have missed out.”
“Wow! That is good.”
“We will be as low-key as possible. You and your wife; Freya and her husband, are enough witnesses. If Louis can make it, he is free to join us.”
“It is all right, Father. What time is it?”
“The time is 9 AM.”
“It is good to know,” he said and there was silence
Then, Arthur called out, “Denise.”
Denise was aware of what such a call denoted. It portrayed the gravity of what he had to say. Arthur was also intentional about what he wanted to say because he did not want to kill off his confidence or murder his self-esteem.
“Yes, Father,” he looked directly into his father’s eyes and responded.
“I saw the footage of what transpired between you and Stephen,” he declared and paused.
He observed his countenance before he proceeded, “Do you think your action was necessary?”
Presently, he could not decipher the right answer but he knew his stand and was not going to pretend about it.
He looked away from his father and explained with emphasis, “I don’t know whether my action was necessary or not, but if any member of the Bailey family who does not know his or her class crosses our path, I will remind him or her and damn the consequence.”
Now, Arthur smiled heartily and continued, “It is all right. Nevertheless, you have to apply caution here and there because you are already a family man. Your family needs you. Sometimes, dialogue works better.”
“I got it, Father. Notwithstanding, warn that black sheep. I would rather not see him anywhere around us. What he got on that Saturday morning would serve as a deterrent to others.”
Now, Arthur had made his point clear and Denise had gotten the lesson. So, there was no need to dwell so much on it.
Subsequently, he changed to another topic, “You are right. So, how is your wife?”
