“I did not reply because I was cross with you,” Nichole responded soberly, while Arthur laughed softly and admitted, “I knew it. You were too lenient to have allowed me to take you home after the marriage.”
“Good. Now that you have mentioned it, I would like to know. Why were you silent all through the drive home?”
“I did not have an idea of what to tell you, and I was afraid that I may say something that would upset you. I just wanted you by my side.”
They laughed ecstatically, and Nichole informed him, “Your silence was like a dagger, stabbing me all through the trip.”
He pulled her nose and inquired, “I apologize. I hope I have made it up to you?”
“Certainly. I love you, Arthur.”
“I love you too,” he responded.
In all, they had a blissful weekend and returned to Dover on Monday morning to begin their marriage processes.
At the Island
After Denise’s dream, he was very cautious. After ordering the Chief of Security to beef up the security at the Center and cancel all the movie shows at the cinema, he was relieved. While they were having their lunch, he called out, “My Angel.”
“Yes, Hubby,” she answered and looked into his eyes.
“I hope you will not be upset?” he asked with a worried expression.
She showed worries and inquired, “Upset over what, Hubby?”
“There is a little change on the island. The movie shows had been canceled until further notice.”
“Oh, my God. Why now?”
“Sorry, my dear. We can think of other activities that will excite you.”
“Ha! Activities like what, please?”
“Just think of something,” he pleaded
She pouted and said, “Okay, dear. Let’s eat.”
They had their lunch and afterward began to discuss Olivia’s proposal of floating her ICT business.
“Would you like to start immediately or after the delivery of the baby?” he asked her.
“I would like to start immediately. That will keep me busy while you resume your work.”
“You are right, Dear.”
Later, Denise took her out for a horse ride, and he kept her busy with simple horseback riding, which excited her and she could not remember the cinema show.
“Thank you, Hubby, for this,” she appreciated him afterward.
“Did you like it?”
“Yes, dear. It is even better than the cinema show.”
“Oh! I am happy that you like it.”
On the sixtieth day of their honeymoon, they were happy that their stay in the Tourist Center and marriage consummation had been fruitful. After they put their luggage together, Denise drew her closer to his chest, angled her hair, and announced, “It is time to leave the Island, Wifey.”
“Yes, Hubby. I am glad we made it.”
“Yes. You are a strong woman. You were able to withstand me for sixty days and nights.”
She looked into his eyes and admitted, “Yes. Your love encouraged me.”
“I see. Thank you for making our stay fruitful. I’m returning as an expectant father.”
He gave her a passionate kiss and took selfies. Before they left the island, he shared their selfies, and his wife looked charming. Likewise, he dropped a note.
(Hi, family. We are returning from the honeymoon today as expectant parents.)
He also shared with his Godfather who commented hurriedly.
(Cute couple. Welcome back.)
(Thank you, Godfather.)
His parents-in-law were not left out. They complimented them as well.
Nevertheless, after the posts, he went offline and concentrated on ensuring that their luggage was moved to the car. When that was done, they got into the vehicle and one of the drivers took them home. While he was in the back seat with his wife, he got back to the family platform to check the comments. To his amazement, the first comment was from Freya.
(Triple celebration in the Bailey family. Congratulations, Denise and Angel. We are coming over.)
‘Triple celebration? What happened? Has Louis gotten married? Was that the reason he disappointed me on my wedding day?’ He thought and scrolled up and to his astonishment, he saw the video and pictures of his parents’ proposal.
“What!” He exclaimed and Olivia was attracted.
She turned and gave him a questioning look before she asked him, “What is it, Hubby?”
Not only that, she leaned on his chest, to gander at his phone and ascertain what could be responsible for his exclamation.
Denise showed her the videos and pictures of his parents and announced, “A lot had happened in our absence. Look at Mom and Father.”
Olivia went through the pictures and exclaimed too, “What? I thought that Father has a wife. The day I went to check my wedding accessories, he said something when Julie said you have a good eye.”
Denise looked into her eyes and asked her, “What did he say?”
“He said ‘Just like me when I met your mother’.”
“Funny. He had, but she died thirteen years ago.”
“Oh no! But Senior Julie’s Mom used to visit her in those days when we were still in High School.”
“It was Mom that you saw and no other woman.”
“That is serious. She never felt her mom’s death.”
“It had been like that. Remember I told you that you would not miss your father-in-law.”
“Yes, you said so.”
“Father and Mom had been there for us as parents since my dad passed on. I had always feared that Mom may decide to remarry to someone else.”
“Hey!”
“Yes. Now that they have come together, I am pleased.”
“I am pleased too.”
Denise went back to the platform to remark about his parents. He discovered that they had commented on his posts too.
(Congratulations to the expectant young parents. We are also happy as the expectant grandparents. Welcome back from a fruitful honeymoon.)
(Thank you, my family, for your wishes. My Angel and I are grateful. I wish to congratulate Mom and Father for the surprise of the century. I am most delighted to be your son. Not only that, I love you, Mom and Dad.)
Then, Freya commented again.
(Congratulations to the expectant grandparents. I love you, Mom and father.)
(We love you too.)
Soon, Denise and Olivia were at home. The domestic staff members were delighted to see them, and they greeted them, “Welcome home, Boss and Madam. Congratulations.”
“Welcome home. Congratulations to you, Boss and Madam.”
“Thank you, John and Caleb. How are you?”
“We are fine, Boss,” they responded simultaneously.
They walked into the apartment while John and Caleb, with the assistance of the driver, offloaded their luggage from the vehicle.
“You are officially welcomed to your home, Mrs. Olivia Bailey,” Denise said cheerfully.
Olivia was excited to hear that and hugged him. She was excited because she had longed to be Mrs. Bailey one day, and she had become one. To her, Louis and Denise were a coincidence and never related.
“Thank you, my husband. You wiped away my tears. I love you for that.”
“I love you too, my Angel,” Denise reassured her, and they began to unpack their luggage and arrange their home to suit their new status.
“You can take a rest if you are tired. We can continue later, or Caleb would do the rest,” Denise who was concerned about her health, advised her.
“It is okay, dear. I will stop when I’m tired. It is also part of exercise.”
“You are right,” Denise said and they continued.
After a while Olivia excused herself,” “I would like to see what Caleb is preparing for lunch.”
“Wait for me. We will see him together. I want to inform him of your condition myself. That will guide him on the food he gives to you.”
Olivia smiled and he held her hand, looked into her eyes, and informed her, “We may employ a nutritionist if he cannot handle your meal.”
“It is all right. Let us see how it goes.”
They got to the kitchen and met the janitor who doubled as the cook, preparing lunch.
