She looked at Arthur before she looked at the candle decked dining table again. Arthur gave her a peck on her temple and walked her to the table majestically.
“You chose Seven Oaks as our first meeting place, right?” he asked her.
“Yes, dear.”
“That is good. I chose to make Seven Oaks a memorable place in our relationship.”
Presently, Nichole was fighting back the tears that had formed in her eyes. Then, Arthur brought out the secret plate. Meanwhile, the secret camera man positioned his phone from his hide-out.
He picked up the ring, bent on one knee, and professed, “Nichole, I can’t imagine growing old without you by my side. I have no doubt that you will love me to the end. Please, be my wife.”
Then, the overawed Nichole, accepted at once, “I will be your wife and be by your side to the end, Arthur.”
Now, he slipped the ring into the middle finger on her left hand, and she helped him to get up. Now, she kissed him intensely and he reciprocated.
The hidden camera man was recording and taking photographs. Now, the lights came up at that point, and she beheld her beloved son. She was surprised at the proposal, but was shocked to know that there was another person in the dark parlor beside her and Arthur.
“Louis!” she screamed.
He smiled broadly and responded, “Yes, Mom. Congratulations.”
“Thank you, Son,” she responded euphorically.
Arthur was still holding her and she gave him a questioning look. Without delay, he volunteered and explained, “You said you wanted to see him, so I sent for him to be a witness to my proposal.”
She faced Louis and appreciated him, “Thank you very much, Louis.”
“You are welcome, Mom.”
Likewise, she faced Arthur and said, “I’m so impressed, Arthur. I love you, my Prince Charming.”
“I’m delighted to know that you are impressed, my Princess Charming. Let’s eat.”
They sat down to have their dinner and Louis joined them. Furthermore, Louis had taken many pictures of the event, and he asked, “Father, Mom. Can I share the pictures on the family platform?”
“I would like to do that by myself and address the issue at once. Kindly share them with me,” his father requested.
“It is all right, Father.”
They chatted happily while they had their meals and took more photographs that included Louis. Afterward, they walked Louis to the car park.
They watched him as he got into his car and Arthur appreciated him, “Thank you, Louis, for coming around despite the short notice.”
“Don’t mention it, Father. Good night, Mom. Good night, Father.”
“Good night, Son,” they responded simultaneously and bade him farewell.
A Few Days Later – At The Island
After Olivia realized from the pregnancy test that she was pregnant, she was grateful to her husband and happy with life too. Now, Denise had been helpful in her walkout exercises, and she took her prescriptions diligently, which helped her to keep fit and Denise was delighted with that.
That morning, after their routine walkout exercise, they took their bath and Denise
Olivia was in front of the mirror applying her cream while Denise was brushing his hair beside her.
“Wifey, I’m proud of you,” he complimented her.
She turned and looked at him before she replied, “I’m proud of you, too. What made you say that?”
“I thought you would be down and puke here and there.”
“Ha! The prescriptions are good. Apart from that, I have to be strong for you and the baby.”
Denise, leaned on her shoulder, kissed her temple and rubbed her tummy. Then, he responded, “I love you both. I will always be there for you.”
“Thank you. We love you too.”
“We will go out again in the evening for a horse ride. Will you be strong enough for that?”
“Certainly. But what about a cinema?”
“It is all right. I will arrange for it. The cinema in this Center is mainly for the indigent residents on the island. It is a compensation for them for buying off their lands.”
“Huh!”
“Yes. But we will be there if you will be comfortable in their mist.”
“That won’t be a problem. I won’t mind their presence.”
“It is all right by me too. If you are set, let us go over to the parlor.”
Afterward, he sat on the couch and waited for her. She rounded up, put on her clothes and announced, “I’m set, Hubby.”
“OK.”
Denise stood up and held her hand while they walked to the parlor. He made her to seat comfortably on the chair before he took his seat beside her.
Then, he picked up the container of her routine drugs and asked her, “Would you like to take your routine drugs before or after your breakfast?”
“Before would be okay.”
“It is all right.”
He gave her the prescriptions, which she took diligently. Then, they had their meal happily afterward, they settled down to watch the television.
Twenty minutes later, Olivia slept off on his thighs. He admired her lovely face for a while before carrying her to the bedroom. He laid her on the bed and joined her for a nap.
That evening, after the horse ride, they left for the cinema. It had two entrances. One was at another part of the Tourist Center, which was facing the Island. The reason was for the indigent residents to be able to walk in and out without walking through the Tourist Center. The other entrance was within, which enabled the Tourists to walk in if they wished and they seldom do. They walked into the single auditorium with rows of cozy, padded seats. They stopped at the foyer area, which contained the box office where the tickets were sold. Now, the ticket agent was surprised to see the couple.
He stood up at once and greeted them, “Good evening, Boss. Good evening, Madam.”
“Good evening,” they responded simultaneously.
“How may I help you, Boss if I may ask?”
Denise placed his index finger on his lips and said, “Shhh! We are here, incognito. We wish to spend our evening here.”
“Ha!” He exclaimed.
“Never mind.”
Olivia observed all that was going on between her husband and the male ticket agent, and chuckled, “Mhhh.”
“It is all right, Boss,” the ticket agent said, before he issued two tickets to him.
“You can go in, Boss, but I will appreciate it if you sit in the last row in the auditorium.”
“Why should we do that?” he furrowed and asked him.
“It is the safest place to sit presently. It keeps you away from the indigent residents and their offensive body odor.”
Denise smiled softly and said, “I see. Thank you, for informing me.”
“It is my pleasure. Have a splendid evening ahead, Boss.”
“Thank you, for your concern,” Denise and Olivia appreciated him simultaneously before they walked into the big auditorium.
At that juncture, the residents had occupied three quarters of the seats in the hall, but Denise and Olivia took their seats in the last row as the ticket agent advised them. Meanwhile, the ticket agent did not wish to take chances. He excused himself and walked to the convenience.
Instantly, he called the Chief Security Officer. When the call connected, he inquired, “Hello, Bright. Is anything the problem?”
“Not really, Boss. I just want to find out if you are aware that the boss is at the cinema with his wife?”
