At the Bailey Native Home
When Nichole returned to her apartment with her family, Arthur settled down to have a talk with Julie about Olivia.
“Julie.”
“Yes, Father.”
“I want to believe that Olivia must be a well-behaved girl. Am I right?”
She gave her father a warm look before she spoke, “Father, that is an understatement. I had known her when she was growing up, and she is from an excellent home. I was thinking of arranging a blind date for her and Louis. But as you can see, it will never be possible again.”
“You are right. But she is still part of us. Denise is also your brother.”
“You are right, Father.”
“I am excited to see all of you settling down with your spouses. After Denise, the next and last would be Louis, and I’m sure it won’t be long before he would settle down.”
“Yes, Father. But before him, there is someone that should settle down, too.”
Arthur, who was amazed, asked expeditiously, “Who?”
Julie looked at him and announced, “Father, it is you. You need to settle down with another woman. It had been thirteen years since mother passed on. You need a partner.”
Before Julie could end her discourse, Arthur was already lost in thought because she had torched an old wound, and it had hit him badly. She was troubled when she saw the tears in her father’s eyes.
Then she quickly apologized, “I’m sorry, Father if I have opened up something you wished to forget.”
“It is not what you think. You are right. I will give it a thought if that will make you happy.”
Julie, who was excited hugged him and advised, “This is great news to hear. Don’t go into a relationship just to please me, but because you are confident that is what you want.”
“I’m sure of what I just said. I have waited for long.”
In Cairo, Egypt
Louis was supposed to have arrived at Kent the previous day for the wedding, but the flight for that day was canceled abruptly because of the previous hitches they could not resolve. Therefore, he rescheduled for 6 AM the next day. Then, he called his family members to inform them of the change in his movement.
However, the wedding was slated for noon, and from Louis’s prediction, if he left Cairo by 6 AM, he would arrive in London by 11 am and find his way to Dover.
Nevertheless, Denise expressed worries, “That means you would be a bit late at the registry.”
“Big brother, don’t allow anything to ruin your day. I must be there.”
“It is alright. Safe trip.”
“Thank you.”
After the call, he settled down to have fun with his new friends and team members. He had regenerated himself without any therapist. He remembered Olivia McGregor once in a while, and he had been keeping track of the pregnancy.
‘By now, the pregnancy should be three months old. Olivia, you are overreacting. I know I offended you. But disappearing without looking back is uncalled for.’
He dismissed the thought quickly and replaced it with one fun or the other. The next day, as early as 4 O’Clock, he was already set to leave for the airport. Eric booked a cab that took him to the airport in the company of other male team members.
“Fair trip, Boss.”
“Thank you. Take care of the business of today.”
“It is all right, Boss.”
They returned to the hotel afterward.
At Denise’s Apartment.
Denise had taken Louis’s advice of not allowing anything to ruin his day.
“After all, it is Olivia and me that are important in this wedding. Louis can join later,” he consoled himself.
At 10 AM, his makeup artists were at his house to dress him up, and by 11 AM, he was set, unfortunately, Louis was not around yet, and Denise instructed the makeup artists.
“You cannot leave. You will wait and dress my best man up. He is on his way.”
“It is all right Mr. Bailey.”
At the Bailey Native Home.
The team of makeup artists for Olivia arrived as early as 8 AM. Her chief bride’s maid and little bride were around. They had arrived the previous day with Olivia’s parents, who were in the hotel. After the breakfast, they began to dress up.
