Chapter 16
Valerie’s POV
“Valerie, are you sure you did not go anywhere that day?” Damian asked.
“Nope, I did not. I’m quite sure of that.”
“And you didn’t give your phone to anybody?” He asked again.
“No. Hold on, I think I remember now. I was with Claire. She came to my house to pick me up so that I’ll come and stay at her place. That evening we even went clubbing.”
“Hahaha…”Damian started laughing.
“What’s funny?” .
“Clubbing…you? I can imagine.”
“Wait, you think I don’t know how to have fun?”
“Not really. You just don’t seem like it.”
“I’ll get back to this later. Let’s just resolve the issue at hand. As I was saying, She came to my house in the morning to pick me up and after I packed my things, we drove to her place. Then we went to the club in the evening. She was with my phone throughout.”
“Is it possible that she used your phone without your consent?”
“No. Claire would never do that. She always knows when to maintain boundaries. She won’t use my phone not to talk of replying my chats and deleting them afterwards.”
“Hmm. This is quite complicated. Do you trust Claire that much?”
“Yes, I do. She has been a good friend of mine. Even if she wants to use my phone, she’ll inform me first. I’m sorry for the inconveniences that incident may have caused you. It was not intentional. Maybe I was even the one that responded to the chats. It must have escaped my memory. Please forgive me.”
“Hey, it’s fine. You don’t have to plead so much. I’ve forgotten about it, Babe.”
Damian is such a sweet boy.
“Speaking of which, I got a creepy text from an unknown number. It was the next day Ater Jade came to my store. I got the text shortly before Claire came to my house. Although I deleted it afterwards but I can still remember the content because it freas me out each time.”
“From an unknown number?”
“Yes. It read: “Your enemies are within your territory. As a matter of fact, you dine with them. My advice to you, is “Don’t trust anyone”. I have my eyes on you everywhere you go and there is no escape for you.”
“That’s serious. You should not have deleted such a sensitive message. This is actually a threat. You would have showed this to me and I will trace it till I find out who sent it.” I could feel the alarm from his voice.
“Damian, it’s fine. You don’t have to get all worked up because of that. I just let it out of my mind. Whoever sent that threatening message, cannot do anything more than dishing out threats.” I said, trying to assure Damian in the best way that I can.
“Val. Promise me that you’ll be careful from today henceforth.”
“Damian, I promise.”
“Promise me again that you’ll always keep me updated. Anything that goes wrong in your life, just let me know.”
“I promise, Mister. I even cross my heart.” I said placing my left hand on my chest.
“Valerie, you know I love you, right?” He asked again staring into my eyes. He was sitting very close to me now and I felt like it was just the two of us in this world. Nothing else matters anymore. Nobody else matters.
“Yes, I guess I know. Probably you should prove it.”
Damian burst into laughter.
“Your wish is my command, M’lady. How should I prove it to you?”
“I suppose you know the answer to that question already. But if you insist that I tell you, then I think it’s high time we went inside the room.” I said, maing emphasis on the last word.
“Naughty girl. Let’s go in so that you can show me the stuff you are made of.” Damian said as he swooped me up from the cushion where we sat almost immediately and began to head into the inner room.
“Damian! I didn’t ask you to carry me up. That scared me” I said as I bursted into laughter too.
“Do you think I can’t carry you? You’re as light as a feather. Just so you know.”
“Damian, I’m actually heavy. Just admit it.”
When he got to the room, he closed the door from behind and gently dropped me on the bed.
“So, let’s get started. Show me what you are capable of.”
I changed the room lights to a dim blue colour and reached out for the phone to play some music. I connected it to the sound system in the room and increased the volume. I took off my heels as soon as the music started.
Soon enough, I began to dance. I twerked and twisted my waist, glancing at Damian at intervals as he watched me. He was obviously enjoying the show.
I walked to the bedside and dragged him up. He was reluctant at first but I insisted.
He grabbed my waist as I rocked him. I have always loved dancing although I wouldn’t call it a hobby. We danced for a while until we were panting. We both laughed as we fell on the bed.
Next, Damian stood up again and changed the music. It was a bit slower this time. He made a few dance steps and beckoned on me. I rose from the bed and when I got to the center of the room where he was, he grabbed my waist while I wrapped my hands around his neck.
He was singing after the music calmly into my ear and the feeling made me tingle.
As I was standing very close to him, with my waist pressed firmly against his loins, I could feel his heartbeat. Slowly, he began to mumble at my ear and rained kisses down my neck.
I felt weak from my knees down to my feet. He kept pressing me close to him. He continued to kiss down my neck till I could feel his breath on my boobs. He used one of his hands slightly unzip my gown.
He didn’t unzip it fully. With one hand holding my waist, another hand moving into my boobs and his wet lips still kissing my neck region, my body was set on fire.
