Chapter 18

Ethan POV
I stared at Dawn sleeping soundly on the bed. Her chest rising and falling under the thick duvets.
I smiled when I remembered what happened yesterday.
Well, I won’t have acted like a total jerk yesterday, infact, I regretted acting like that.
But all the same, it’s good seeing and having her desperately beg for my fingers.
I didn’t miss her moans, how she squirt and desperately wanted me to fuck her. I didn’t miss those for anything in this world.
Lifting my gaze away from Dawn, I quickly brushed my black wig and put it on, palming it and making it perfect for my head.
I’m heading to the company today, and it will be bad if I get my grandpa more mad by showing up with my shoulder length hair.
After I’m done dressing, I took a last glance at my kitten before I sauntered downstairs and into the kitchen.
“Good morning, sir Ethan.” Cliff greeted me.
I nodded, then settled on the dining chair for my breakfast.
It won’t be a bad idea to eat with my kitten, but kitten is still busy sleeping upstairs.
Damn! I must have worn her out yesterday when she’s trying to satisfy me with her mouth.
Blame me, but my dick is one horny beast.
I spread the jam over my bread and started eating.
“Cliff?” I called.
“Sir Ethan…”
“Why did you let her out yesterday?”
Flying my head up, I frowned at Cliff who had his head bow, his shoulder tensed as his chest rose and fell. “Huh?”
“I told her not to.”
“Why can’t you inform me? I thought I told you never to let her out.”
“I’m sorry, sir Ethan.” He quickly fell to his knees. “Pardon me this once please.”
I chuckled. Of course I’m not ready to punish him. After all, because of his slackness at work, I was able to get to my kitten.
I drank the tea. Wiped my mouth with the serviettes before I stood up.
“You can go back now. But next time, I might not be in this kinda mood.”
“Thank you, sir Ethan.”
I walked outside and hopped into the car with Sam, ready for the company.
All through the drive, my mind was preoccupied by what I’m gonna be meeting there, especially my Grandpa.
His vicious glare, his sharp jaw that clenched angrily after he’d have heard what happened between me and my so-called date.

“You’re here,” Andre said as soon as I entered my office.
He’s sitting on one of the sofas, his face wrinkled up in a frown.
“What’s up with that look?” I asked
“Grandpa was here.” Andre replied, he brushed a finger through his hair and sighed. “He’s fucking looking angry. I greeted him but he didn’t reply me.”
I let out a sigh, palming my face. Goddamned it. I can clearly imagine my contorted face, his nose high up in the air, and his eyes narrowed, almost disappearing into their sockets.
“Get in his bad book again?”
“Pretty complicated, buddy.”
Andre hissed, he rubbed the bridge of his nose. “He wants to see you anyway.” He stood up. “Don’t drag me in next time.”
I rolled my eyes. When did I ever drag him in? I’m always in this mess, anyway.
“I’ll see him soon.”
“No,” Andre shook his head with a scowl. “He wants me to come with you right now.”
“Right now?” I scoffed. “He’s not even aware that I’m here.”
“I’m very much aware, Ethan.”
Whirling around, my gaze settled on grandpa. One hand holding the door, the other holding his walking stick tightly.
I moved back as he stepped fully into the office.
Grandpa was looking nothing like yesterday.
His lips were set in a thin line, jaw clenched and eyes dimmed angrily.
It’s been long since I’ve seen him this mad and angry. If look could kill, then I’d be 10ft underground.
“Listen, grand…”
“You listen!” He breathed out. His voice was low, but damn! I’d learn to fear his low voice rather than his high-pitched tone. “Tell me, just tell me what you did yesterday.” He gritted out.
“It wasn’t my fault,”
Grandpa scoffed. “Are you trying to cook some lies now and tell me how Melinda was rude to you?”
“Grandpa?”
“What!?” He growled.
I flinched, taking another step back.
Well, I’m still scared of his walking stick. I don’t want that drumming in my head, do I?
“What have you done to her?”
“Nothing,” I shrugged, “She was the one who even poured drinks all over me.”
“That…” Grandpa growled. “You deserve it!”
I grunted, my hand going through my hair.
I ran my tongue over my dry lips, looking anywhere but at my grandpa.
“Your mom was never like this.” He mumbled.
Flying my head up, grandpa quickly snapped his gaze away from me, but not without seeing those midnight orbs laced with unshed tears.
What’s with him and my late mom? Fine! He loved her, but would he stop bringing her up and stop digging up the old bad memories?
“You’re nothing like her.”
“Nothing like her?” I huffed, my gaze hardened, glaring at grandpa.
I balled my hands into fist, teeth gritted as I tried so hard to comport myself and suppress the bubbling anger.
“If she was like this,” I hissed. “she’d still be pretty much alive!”
“Ethan!”
“Only if you’d not… ”
“Ethan,”
Andre grabbed my wrist. He shook his head. “Don’t… ”
I sighed, cleaning the droplet of tears off my face.
Damn! I don’t want to be reminded of that day when she couldn’t breathe no more even after being in the hospital for weeks.
Had it been she took proper care of her health. She listened to me. Only if she had
I quickly blinked back my tears, taking a step away from Andre. I faced grandpa again.
“I’m sorry.”
Grandpa sighed. “It’s okay. You don’t need to apologise to me.”
Ugh! I did not expect him to give up so soon.
“Melinda is in the building…”
“What?!” I almost screamed. In the building? For what?
“You can apologise to her and make amends. Sort things out between yourself.”
Hugh! Apologise and sort things out? Now grandpa is telling me to say sorry to that motherfucker that ruined my expensive suit
“What a joke!” I huffed
“Of course you’re apologising.” Andre flashed me a sickening grin.
Goddamned him. Now he wants to mock me.
Grandpa turned to leave the office, but he looked at me again, his gaze lingering for a fraction of seconds before he spoke again.
“You’re gonna be seeing much of her in this company. Make sure you make use of the opportunity. I’m trying to make things easier for you.”
And without waiting for my reply and to see how I’m gonna react to what he just said, grandpa exited the room.
I sighed.
Now what in the fuck does he mean by I’ll be seeing much of her these days in this mother fucking company?
I turned to look at Andre with a questioning look, but he only shrugged and mouthed something that sounded like ‘ I don’t know ‘
Weakly, I slumped down on the sofa and leaned back.
I’ve not been allowed a moment of peace ever since I got to the company this morning, all thanks to grandpa.
“Good morning, Ethan.”
Snapping my eyes open, my gaze fell off Melinda.
She’s wearing a neatly ironed burgundy straight skirt that stopped a little above her knees over a white top. Her hair was rolled in a bun.
I narrowed my eyes. “What… Are you here?”
“I am Melinda Bell, your new secretary.”
