“I don’t know that either, you might have to ask him in person!”
Sebastian tucked his phone into his pocket, his face radiating with confidence, as if he already had everything under control.
“Take me to him now!” Caitlin was getting frustrated.
“I’m hungry. Let’s eat first,” Sebastian said, hands casually tucked into his pockets, heading straight towards the restaurant.
“Hey…” Caitlin had no choice but to follow him, stepping into the restaurant.
The restaurant exuded a comfortable and elegant ambiance, with soft, graceful music playing in the background and a faint, pleasant fragrance in the air. The decor was exquisite, each piece a work of art, radiating understated luxury.
As soon as the staff saw Sebastian, they immediately greeted him respectfully. “Mr. Vanderbilt, your private crystal room has been prepared. Please, follow me.”
Following the staff into the crystal room, Sebastian personally pulled out the chair for Caitlin, inviting her to sit down. His actions were graceful and dignified, as if the lewd man from earlier was someone entirely different.
Caitlin sat down, and Sebastian took the seat across from her.
“Would you like to order something?” the waiter asked, handing them the menu.
“Let my wife choose,” Sebastian said, nodding towards Caitlin.
The waiter handed the menu to Caitlin, saying, “Mrs. Vanderbilt, please.”
Caitlin was stunned and shot him a look. “You’ve got it wrong! I’m not your wife, mind your words!”
She corrected him, then added, “Don’t call me Mrs. Vanderbilt. Don’t listen to him!”
The waiter nodded respectfully. “Understood, Mrs. Vanderbilt. What would you like to order? Would you like any recommendations?”
Caitlin sighed inwardly. She suspected Sebastian might be doing this on purpose.
In truth, the waiter only listened to Sebastian’s orders, so Caitlin’s instructions didn’t carry much weight.
Sebastian seemed to be in a good mood, noticing Caitlin’s irritated expression. “If you don’t have anything in particular you want, I’ll just order for you.”
He proceeded to order the restaurant’s signature dishes and handed the menu back to the waiter. “Please serve the dishes as quickly as possible.”
“Of course, Mr. Vanderbilt, Mrs. Vanderbilt. Please wait a moment.” The waiter left.
Sebastian looked up, his gaze focusing on Caitlin, appreciating her beauty in silence.
Caitlin rolled her eyes at him, then lowered her head to look at her phone, ignoring him completely.
The crystal decorations in the room sparkled under the lighting, but they couldn’t compete with the radiance of the woman sitting before him.
Sebastian leaned his chin on his hand, quietly admiring her.
He had already investigated her background. The property she lived in, DanCa Estate, was registered under someone named Kayla. He was curious-who exactly was Kayla? He knew of an internationally renowned designer named Kayla, but he wasn’t sure if they were the same person.
Before he could contemplate further, Caitlin looked up, and their eyes met.
She wasn’t giving him any favorable looks, instead, she turned her gaze to the door, wishing this awkward lunch would end as quickly as possible.
As they waited, a group of guests entered the restaurant. At the center of the group was Jasmine, surrounded by Scott and Gu Qingqing, with a few others from LIG’s design team trailing behind.
Today’s show had been a massive success, and Jasmine was the star of the show. Scott had personally driven to the exhibition center to pick her up, presenting her with flowers. He had said all the right things to smooth things over, and Jasmine reluctantly accepted his apology and reconciled with him.
But if it weren’t for the embarrassing incident at the school anniversary event, which had ruined her reputation, how could she have ever reconciled with Scott, whose reputation was equally tainted? They had only come together because of mutual misfortune-and perhaps because they were both drawn to the same foul odor.
“Jasmine, your show today was a huge success! I specially reserved a place at Shangri-La to celebrate!” Scott beamed with a flattering smile.
Joanna chimed in, “Jasmine, my brother really put in a lot of effort to help you celebrate! Even booking this restaurant’s best crystal room took a lot of time!”
The colleagues behind them also joined in with their praises.
“The Crystal Room! Not just anyone can book it. I heard you need connections to even get a reservation!”
“Jasmine, you’re so lucky! Scott really treats you well!”
“Very soon, the news about LIG’s exhibition will be broadcasted. Jasmine, you’re going to shine today!”
Listening to the flattery, Jasmine wore a fake smile on her face. The group walked into the restaurant, and the atmosphere was filled with praise for her.
“Wow, Shangri-La really lives up to its name! This place is so high-class!”
“We’re only here because of Jasmine! We really owe her!”
The colleagues were all amazed by the restaurant’s luxurious setting, and Jasmine felt proud, thinking that Scott’s effort today had raised her status.
Walking into this restaurant felt like stepping into a royal palace-she was the elegant and noble princess.
But everyone was puzzled. It was mealtime, yet the restaurant, usually bustling with people, seemed completely empty today. Could it be that Scott had rented out the entire restaurant?
Scott led Jasmine and the others to the crystal room but was stopped by a waiter. “Excuse me, do you have a reservation?”
“Of course! I reserved the best crystal room! My last name is Gu, you can check.”
The waiter checked the reservation list and replied, “I’m sorry, Mr. Gu, but we cannot find a reservation under your name. The crystal room has already been occupied. Would you mind choosing another table?”
“What? What kind of service is this? I reserved the crystal room, and you’ve given it to someone else? What’s going on?”
Scott immediately flipped out. This was supposed to be his big chance to impress Jasmine, but now they were making a fool of him.
Jasmine frowned. “Scott, did you really make a reservation?”
“I had my assistant book it. How could it be a mistake?”
Joanna added, “Yes, my brother made the reservation. What’s going on? Who’s the jerk who stole our spot?”
Scott couldn’t stand to lose face in front of everyone. He confronted the waiter, “Is there some kind of trick going on here? I reserved the room, and now you’re telling me it’s gone? Do you know who I am?”
Joanna quickly explained, “My brother is the CEO of LIG! You’d better watch out!”
Scott, hands on his hips, raged, “I don’t care who took the room, but you better tell them to get out now, or I’ll file a complaint!”
The waiter remained calm and said, “I’m sorry, sir, but we can’t ask the current guests to leave. Please choose another table.”
Scott refused to back down. “I’m not leaving until I get that room! I want the people inside to get out!”
The waiter ignored him. Scott pushed him aside and stormed toward the crystal room.
With a loud bang, he kicked open the door to the crystal room.
When he saw who was sitting inside, his face turned pale with shock!
