Vivian smiled when she saw the two, “You both look extremely tired.”
“Ahem,” Lucas cleared his throat before scanning his eyes around the villa. Victoria bit her lip and smiled sheepishly.
“Please sit down and eat, you need to replenish your strength for later tonight,” Vivian said with a smile.
Lucas and Victoria exchanged glances, knowing what Vivian was thinking.
“Ah, mom, Lucas still needs to go back to his office,” Victoria said.
Lucas nodded, “Yes, mom, I still have some things to attend to at the office,” he added.
“What time do you usually get off from the office?” Vivian asked.
“Once everything is settled early, around 6 pm,” Lucas casually mentioned the time.
Vivian nodded, “In that case, you’ll have dinner here tonight, and both of you can stay here again.”
Victoria looked at Lucas as if asking for forgiveness. Lucas unsure of what to do after seeing her wife’s expression. He simply nodded, “Ye-Yes, Mom,” he said helplessly.
“Good, sit down and eat first, I know you were tired last night especially Victoria,” she said before giving Victoria a peculiar look.
Victoria thought of something before blushing, “Mom?!” she said, her face turning red.
Xavier chuckled, “During our youth with your mother, she was just as loud, her voice could be heard in the next room,” he said before bursting into laughter.
Vivian pinched Xavier on the side, but said nothing. Xavier winced at the pain of his wife’s pinch, “There is the result, a wonderful child who looks like her, because she was so enthusiastic,” he continued before laughing.
Xavier winced again after being pinched harder by Vivian.
“You’re embarrassing me in front of the children,” Vivian said as she pinched Xavier, then looked at Lucas and Victoria, “Alright, let’s eat.”
Lucas and Victoria sat at the table, “So, you really take after your mother,” Lucas whispered to Victoria.
Victoria bit her lip before pinching Lucas on the side. Lucas winced at Victoria’s pinch. Then Lucas and Xavier both winced after being simultaneously pinched by their wives.

After eating, the two went out of the villa, Lucas spoke to Victoria. “I will go back to the company, you stay here for now. I know you need to spend time with your mother, Manager Jen will take over the project for now, I will just inform her,” said Lucas.
“Thank you, Lucas,” Victoria said with a smile, grateful to have an understanding and loving husband.
Lucas looked lovingly at Victoria before he gently caressed her head and kissed her on the forehead, “I’ll go ahead,” Lucas said in a loving tone.
Victoria hugged Lucas, “Take care. Come back soon,” she said softly before letting go of Lucas.
Lucas nodded, smiled, turned around, and left. Victoria watched him as he got into his sports car and slowly disappeared from her sight. When Lucas was no longer visible, Victoria went back inside the villa to be with her mother.

Lucas brought his cellphone out before turning on the power in the car, he turned off his cellphone last night because he did not want any interruptions with their task with Victoria. When he turned on his cellphone, he immediately called Lorenzo, the call connected quickly. “Lorenzo, any news? How is the surveillance going?” Lucas quickly asked.
“Boss, Johanna is dead. I think they know now that Johanna is not your wife,” Lorenzo said from the other end of the call.
Lucas grinned, “She deserved to die. Who gave her the audacity to pretend to be my wife,” he said mockingly.
“Boss, I am worried they might target the Mistress,” Lorenzo said.
“Forget who Victoria’s real parents are?” Lucas reminded Lorenzo.
It seemed like Lorenzo realized something, “Ah, yes, it’s true. The enemy will not act recklessly against the daughter of the richest man in Italy,” he said.
Lucas shook his head, “In that case, they will come after me. If I am not mistaken, they will try to destroy my roots and connections to expose me,” Lucas said.
“They will surely try to cut your roots and connections boss, so what should we do?” Lorenzo asked.
“They cannot sever my roots and connections so let them do what they want,” Lucas said before smiling coldly, “it’s time for us to act, let’s start by breaking their weakest link,” he added.
“I understand boss, our people are ready for the first target. Just give the word and our people will move at any time,” Lorenzo said, awaiting Lucas’ orders.
“The small Edwin family didn’t need to use much force, but they were among those who betrayed my father. My father was kind to them but they repaid him in the opposite manner. Slowly torture them and do not kill them immediately. I don’t want to alert the enemy’s top brass,” Lucas instructed.
“Understood sir!” Lorenzo replied.
“I’m heading to the office; I’ll wait for your good news there,” Lucas said before ending the call.
Lucas pocketed his cellphone before focusing on driving, he displayed a frighteningly cold look while his car sped quickly, leaving behind a trail of dust along his path.
Lucas didn’t go straight to the company but took a detour and entered a secluded place. He got out of the car and walked towards a tavern. At a glance, it was evident that this place was not for the faint-hearted and the people here were not pieces of good news. Some carried guns, knuckles, or knives strapped to their sides.
Lucas walked into the tavern and immediately caught the attention of the revelers. It had been five years since he last visited this place. A bald man with a scar on his eye stood up from his table carrying a large glass of alcohol and walked towards Lucas.
Lucas stood quietly without moving as the man circled him, seemingly assessing him. When the man saw that Lucas had no weapons, he grinned, “From your attire, you come from a wealthy family. Do you know that this place is restricted to the surface dwellers?” he warned Lucas.
“Step aside!” Lucas said coldly after the man blocked his way.
The onlookers were taken aback, some even gasped. “This man is as good as dead now. Doesn’t he know that One Eye rules this place?” one of the drinkers remarked.
“Maybe this man is new here. He really doesn’t know that One Eye doesn’t spare anyone’s life in this place,” his companion said before standing up from the table and moving aside, not wanting to get involved in the commotion and just wanting to watch.
Other people standing up as they drink and move to the side, giving Lucas and One Eye a large space.
One Eye paused when he heard Lucas speak, “Boy, it seems you don’t know the rules in this place. The wealthy are useless here, strength is the currency in this place,” he arrogantly said.
“I don’t care about a little ant like you. Get out of my way, I need to speak to Lucio,” Lucas said coldly, impatiently.
Most were surprised to hear Lucas casually mention the name Lucio, One Eye also took aback before bursting into laughter, “You really have the guts to mention the master’s name, if you don’t know, the last one who called the master in such a formal tone is already dead,” he said.
Lucas, feeling impatient, immediately gave One Eye a swift kick, sending One Eye flying with the force of the kick and spewing a mouthful of blood. He paid no attention to One Eye and walked towards the tavern’s server.
“Hey, Lucio, come out there,” Lucas said coldly.
The people present fell stunned after hearing Lucas’s commanding tone towards the most feared person in this place.
“He’s done! Did this person intentionally come here to commit suicide?” a man said amidst the crowd before swallowing hard.
