Mr. Rozzo descended the stage and approached Victoria, “my daughter, you look so much like your mother,” he said joyfully, with a mix of emotions.
His adopted daughter returned to composure before frowning, unaware that her foster father had already found his real daughter. Now, she feared that all her plans would be ruined because of Victoria, but she still followed through and concealed the anger in her heart.
“Sister, your father has been looking for you for a long time. I hope you know your place,” she said with a smile, but the underlying meaning in her words hinted for Victoria to know her status.
Victoria, being intelligent, understood what the woman meant, but she ignored her and turned to Xavier, “Mr. Rozzo, I do not understand what you are saying,” she doubted.
Xavier waved his hand before someone approached and handed out some photos and documents. He showed a few pictures to Victoria, “Here are pictures of you when you were just four years old in these photos,” Xavier showed a picture of a cute little smiling girl.
Lucas looked at it and noticed the resemblance to Victoria when they first met. Next, Xavier showed a picture of a mother joyfully embracing her child, indicating the woman’s extreme happiness in the photo. “This is your mother and you when you were seven years old before you disappeared. We were in the park, you were just playing around and suddenly disappeared when no one was looking at you. We searched for you with your mother until nightfall, but couldn’t find you. We spent days wandering around the park until your mother fell ill,” tears streamed down Xavier’s face as he reminisced about the past.
Lucas saw the resemblance of Victoria from the first time they met and noticed that the woman in the picture really looked like Victoria in the present, one could say the two were like two halves of a beautiful pear.
“Where is she?” Victoria asked as she took the picture, unable to hold back her tears. Although she couldn’t fully remember, she felt a strong connection to the woman in the photo.
“Your mother is in the villa, she has been depressed for twenty years, barely leaving the house. She looks frail now, far from her appearance in the photo. The pendant you wear, embroidered with your name, was made and designed by your mother herself. Victoria, your name means conqueror, she believed you would be a successful person in the future. Your mother was right because you have made a name for yourself through your abilities, even without us by your side,” Xavier said proudly, but with sadness in his eyes for not witnessing Victoria’s struggles before her success.
Victoria took out her pendant from her inner clothing and held it tightly, now believing Xavier’s words. Though she couldn’t recall it fully, she felt a close bond between them.
Xavier took out a document and handed it to Victoria, revealing a paternity test with today’s date. “Earlier, I ordered to retrieve the wine glass you used and conducted a paternity test using the fastest method possible. Now, open it and check the results,” he said.
Victoria nervously opened the envelope, lifting the paper inside slowly. As she unfolded it and saw the results, she trembled, covering her mouth in disbelief, stepping back and almost stumbling but Lucas supported her. After looking at the paper, Lucas tapped Victoria’s shoulder before smiling.
“Dad!” Victoria exclaimed before hugging Xavier, tears flowing uncontrollably. She couldn’t hold back the tears upon learning that her parents were still alive, not just her parents, but she was actually the daughter of the wealthiest man in Italy.
“Tch!” The woman who was Xavier’s adopted daughter scowled upon seeing what was in front of her, thinking that Victoria would take what had long belonged to her. She believed that she was the only true child of Xavier and the rightful heiress, not allowing Victoria to steal the spotlight.
“My daughter, we have been searching for you for twenty years without rest. If I hadn’t seen you on the internet being introduced as ‘V’ at the opening of Luca Group’s new project, I wouldn’t have known you were my daughter,” Xavier cried as he hugged his long-lost daughter.
“This is your sister, Rosalie,” Xavier introduced and pointed to his adopted daughter, “you are older than her, so she is your younger sister.”
Victoria nodded before smiling at Rosalie, “Little Sister, I am here, and I know my position in the family, so you should be good to me.” Victoria knew that this girl did not like her, so she immediately showed her authority and position as the only and eldest daughter of the richest man in Italy.
Rosalie knew that Victoria was warning her not to think beyond what is appropriate and showing her status, she just smiled and said, “Sister, don’t worry, your younger sibling will be good to you.”
‘Darn! This woman really clarified her status to everyone and that she is the legal heir. Let’s see what I can do to you,’ Rosalie thought to herself.
Victoria nodded with a smile, “That would be good,” she replied, but she knew she needed to be careful with this woman, who could be as venomous as a snake. Victoria clearly saw Rosalie’s malicious intent right in front of her.
“Victoria, I want to take you back to the villa now to meet your mother. I’m sure she’ll be better off, and she’ll surely recover when she sees you,” Xavier said with a smile.
For a moment, Victoria did not know what to say before she looked at Lucas and then back at Xavier, “Dad, although I also want to see my mother, I would like to first melt all this news. I feel like all these revelations are still not true, I would like you to give me a little time to accept everything that has happened.”
Xavier nodded, understanding that Victoria needed time to adjust and slowly accept this sudden news, “Alright, I’ll wait for your call.”
“Yes, Dad, I’ll call you as soon as I’m ready,” Victoria replied with a smile.
Xavier looked at Lucas, “One billion dollar contract as a settlement for taking care of my daughter for the past few years is what I offer you. Now, I want you to divorce and cut all ties with my daughter in exchange for this large sum,” he said seriously.
