A strong slap suddenly landed on the arrogant face of Cecilia, she flew from the force of the slap and fell on the manager, her vision blurred, her cheeks swollen, and her lips bleeding.
Apart from proper manners and elegant movements, Victoria was also taught some self-defense and combat techniques by the servants, never did she expect to use one of them early on.
The manager was surprised by the scene, unable to believe that Victoria would really dare to stand up for herself, the sales lady covered her mouth before giving a thumbs up for what Victoria did.
Celia regained composure, “you! How dare you hit me!” she exclaimed.
Victoria shrugged, “Didn’t you move your face towards my fist?” she calmly said.
Celia became angry, stomping her heel as a sign of annoyance, she looked at the manager and demanded an explanation, only for the manager to suddenly snap, “Guard, break the legs of this person,” she angrily said.
Two guards quickly approached, “what’s the problem?” one guard asked.
“Break her legs and throw this person outside,” she instructed the guard, pointing at Victoria.
The guard looked at Victoria and recognized her, ‘ah, this is the woman with the boss, is the manager tired of living?’ he thought, scratching his head.
“What are you doing? Why aren’t you moving?” the manager said angrily.
“Manager, this person is-”
“I don’t care who she is, beat her up and feed her to the horses!” She yelled at the guards before he could finish speaking.
But the two guards still didn’t move, impatient and irritated, the manager grabbed the baton carried by the guard and was about to attack Victoria.
Cecilia smiled as she saw this situation unfolding, just as the manager was about to strike Victoria, a cold voice came from behind them.
“What are you doing?” a man’s voice could be heard.
The manager turned around and walked towards the man, “Boss, there’s a beggar causing trouble in the store, and he even slapped a VIP customer,” explained the manager before glancing at Victoria.
Cecilia laughed, “Victoria, you’re finished, the store owner is here,” she grinned, thinking it was the end for Victoria.
Victoria remained quiet and unfazed by the threats of the two.
“Mr. De Luca, I am one of your VIP customers, but a beggar had the audacity to slap me,” Cecilia explained, trying to look pitiful.
The manager nodded, “Yes boss, that person had the audacity to slap a VIP customer right in front of me.”
Lucas looked coldly at Cecilia and instantly recognized her, it was only now that Lorenzo called, saying that two other people were involved in drugging Victoria, and one of them was Cecilia, Lucas saw Cecilia in the photo sent by Lorenzo.
“Do you know her?” he asked Cecilia coldly.
“Mr. De Luca, she is the eldest adoptive daughter of Casella, she is Bella’s sister, if I may remind you she slept with the old man just to buy the clothes she’s wearing, people like her are disgusting and don’t belong in such a high-end place,” Cecilia explained, trying to provoke Lucas.
Lucas nodded, “So you believe you deserve it?” he asked.
“Yes, of course,” she proudly replied.
“Why do you think she is not deserving but you are?” he asked again in a cold voice.
Celia grinned before looking at Victoria, “Her? Deserving? A woman who slept with an old man just to show off, coming from an elite family like me, how can I be compared to her?” she said mockingly.
“How can you say she slept with the old man? Did you see them together or do you have any proof?” Lucas asked.
The manager was puzzled, his boss didn’t act this way, so she was confused, but she remained silent and didn’t speak.
Cecilia was taken aback by the question and didn’t know what to say. Lucas noticed her hesitation, “Is she on drugs?” he suddenly asked while Cecilia was deep in thought.
“Yes, she is on drugs,” she agreed.
“And she slept with an old man?” he asked again.
“Yes, that’s right,” nodded Cecilia.
“Maybe she’s not on drugs, are you sure?” Lucas asked skeptically.
Cecilia shook her head, “It’s impossible, I was the one who put the drugs in her-” she covered her mouth, knowing she had said something wrong, she looked at Lucas and saw his intimidating gaze.
“Don’t worry, you will pay for what you did to her,” Lucas said coldly.
Cecilia was confused, but she was caught up in what she saw next.
Lucas walked towards Victoria, “Have you made your choice?” he asked gently, his tone devoid of coldness.
Though he no longer had a cold demeanor towards Victoria, he was still cautious because he didn’t fully know her yet. This behavior of his was developed since he was a child, trusting only a few people.
Victoria nodded, “This is okay,” she said with a smile, knowing that within the cold heart of the man in front of her, there still remained some warmth. Victoria knew this because she saw how obedient Lucas was to his grandfather, not the behavior of someone heartless.
Lucas handed his credit card to the sales lady to pay for all the clothes Victoria had chosen. Victoria went to the fitting room to try on the clothes before paying.
Celia and the manager were stunned, not knowing what was happening. “Boss, do you know each other?” the manager asked in surprise.
Lucas ignored her but looked at Cecilia, “The old man you are referring to and who was with Victoria in the hotel is actually me, I am Victoria’s husband.,” he said coldly.
“Prepare yourself and your whole family, you’re next after I finish with Casella,” he threatened.
Cecilia felt a chill at what she heard, “It’s over, my whole family will be ruined because of my stupidity,” she whispered, no longer in her senses.
The manager paled when he heard what Lucas said, “Boss, she, she’s your wife?!” She asked in disbelief.
Lucas looked sharp, “Don’t show yourself to me,”
Making the manager sit on the floor.
“Why didn’t you tell me?” he asked the guard.
“I tried, but you said you didn’t care who she was,” the guard replied.
“It’s over!” the manager whispered before looking at the dazed Cecilia, she stood up and walked towards Cecilia, thinking it was Cecilia’s fault, so she immediately pulled Cecilia’s hair and dragged her out of the mall.
A moment later, Victoria returned with other things she had bought. The sales lady politely returned Lucas’ credit card. “From now on, get to know Victoria, when she comes here, serve her well!” Lucas declared before leaving with Victoria.
Before leaving, Victoria saw a stall selling cake and pizza, “Just a moment, I’ll buy some snacks for the servants,” she smiled at Lucas before heading to the store.
Seeing Victoria’s behavior, Lucas’s impression of her grew. He followed Victoria, wanting to pay for what she had bought, but Victoria refused, saying she still had some money to pay for the food, as a token of gratitude to the servants who were training her.
Lucas was touched by Victoria’s words but thought that she was a strong person. In her behavior, she didn’t seem like someone who would rely on him. Victoria only agreed to the clothes because Lucas said it was for her own benefit and not for Victoria. Lucas thought it wiser to bring Victoria into his company and give her a job.
Lucas looked at Victoria, “Didn’t you mention that you know something about jewelry design?” he asked.
Victoria was surprised by Lucas’s sudden question, but she still answered, “I have some knowledge-” she said, but she stopped short of what she intended to say.
Lucas understood what Victoria didn’t want to say, “Study for three years abroad, when you come back, I want you to be the director of the design team in the jewelry department at the company.”
