Whether Tian could see it or not.
“Don’t tell Kai I came back early. I’m going home to sleep and will see him tomorrow at work. Let him alone with his one day with Yuelin.”
He had wondered how it was going with Kai and Meilei being alone but had faith Kai would keep his cool. Yuelin was the greatest dampener for him and would ensure he didn’t cross any lines with Meilei.
“Serious or for fun? You seem to find women no matter where we go.”
Qian always seemed to have an entourage of adoring girls no matter the city or job.
Tian growled at him and got a boyish grin in return.
“Slut.” Tian mumbled to him
As the day wore on, his memories of that insane little nymphomaniac had him wishing he could bleach his brain. He should have just choked her to death instead of having sex and saved himself this lingering torture.
“Wake me up when we get to my apartment. I didn’t get much sleep. Tian closed his eyes, crossed his arms, and slid his feet under the chair to wedge him in place. Wanting to drown out thoughts and feeling crappy. Hoping after some sleep, he wouldn’t be plagued with the vision of that demon naked in his mind’s eye.
Qian stretched to smirk back in the mirror and watched his awkward position before chuckling at him.
“I bet you didn’t.”
Suying felt sick with nerves, checking her watch for the fiftieth time and heart sinking at the late hour.
He wasn’t still going to be here. In her heart, she knew it, but she still had to try.
She hadn’t seen him at the convenience store either, and she was fast losing hope that he even meant it and would be here anyway. She was starting to think he was just a player who probably chatted up a dozen girls daily and then forgot who they were. It’s not like they had much interaction to leave him with any lasting impression of her.
Who was she kidding? She was not some ‘wow,’ gorgeous girl with a curvy body and stunning personality. She was average and awkward and never bothered to put much effort into her hair besides ponytails or messy buns. Her only pro was that she had an athletic body and slight curves and was fit and healthy.
Suying took one last inhale for courage and pushed inside the trendy gym’s main foyer, eyeing the small, perfectly made-up beauty behind the counter and cautiously approaching. She was all blonde highlights, fake lashes, and cleavage in a Wonderbra. Dressed in sexy sporty clothes that left nothing to the imagination, she was filing long pink nails on an emery board with disinterest.
“D?… You’re looking for D?” She emphasized the ‘you’re’ in a haughty tone. The second slow gaze up and down Suying’s casual attire of jeans and a fitted tee and her messy ponytail made her feel about an inch tall. The soured expression and way she clicked her tongue in her mouth made it clear this girl thought Dee was way out of her league and she felt stupid for coming here.
She knew she was not a match for someone like him and sank inside with bitter regret.
Suying caught the desk girl’s distasteful glare and squirmed under her scrutiny as she reanalyzed Suying and shook her head. Obviously, she didn’t see what was great enough about her to attract Dee, and Suying shifted uncomfortably on her feet.
“Is that it?” Dee leaned in with a cheeky expression, smiling so dimples became pronounced, and she wasn’t sure what else to say. His attractiveness always left her tongue-tied and awkward, and she couldn’t ‘word’ properly.
“I can’t play pool, but I can watch.” She offered as an acceptance to his invitation, and he flicked back to his hot boy smile, which seemed more natural.
“Okay.”
“Okay.” Dee turned, not releasing her, and tugged her with him, nodding to his friends who had been watching with interest and muttering to one another. The larger burly-looking man she had met in the convenience store nodded at her.
