RHEA MOVES IN

Book:ALPHA PROFESSOR'S FORBIDDEN AFFAIR Published:2025-2-8

Hiram’s POV:
Last night, June didn’t spend the night in my room. She came back home with Rhea, and they hung out the entire evening.
“You know I’m beginning to think you love Rhea more than you love me,” I say to her as she sits in front of the mirror doing her hair.
She looks at me through the mirror with a frown on her face.
“Why would you say that?” she asks, and I walk up to her, bending slightly.
“Maybe because you spent the entire evening with her, and slept in the guest room too,” I say, and she chuckles slightly.
“So, you’re jealous of a woman?” she asks, then tilts her head slightly to face me. “You know what? Maybe I do love her better and we might have…”
I press my lips against hers before she can say anything else. She goes silent at once, and when I try to pull away, she wraps her hands around my neck, pulling me in again.
She finally pulls away, breathless.
“I guess you can’t do without me,” I say to her, and she presses her hands to my chest in an attempt to push me away, but I don’t budge.
She slouches a bit in front of the mirror, pressing the sides of her stomach.
“Do I look fat?” she asks, and my brows crease slightly.
“No, you do not.” I reply, but she doesn’t stop pressing the sides of her stomach. I grab her hands at once, placing them still at the sides.
“You are perfect the way you are, and by that I mean you are way more sexy,” I say to her, and her cheeks heat up at once.
“You are only saying that because you are my boyfriend.” My brows wrinkle slightly, and I grab her chin, tilting her face to mine.
“Your husband,” I correct, and she nods, then I press a kiss to her lips. “Never say I am your boyfriend or I’ll be forced to jog your memory,” I whisper, my lips inches away from her ear.
She pushes my face away.
“You’re not getting that from me,” she says, then lifts her hair up, attempting to knot it with a band.
I grab the band from her and help her with the hairdo.
“There,” I say, then I kiss her cheek. “You are so beautiful,” I say to her, and she gives a cheeky smile.
Before I can respond, someone knocks on the door.
“Howler!” Alex’s impatient voice comes from the hallway, and I let out a sigh. I had called her earlier on about June’s case, and she agreed to take care of it, but I didn’t expect her to storm into my room.
I walk to the door and pull it open for her. She walks into the room.
“Hello, June,” she greets June with a smile.
“Alex.” June replies in a small voice, waving to her. She then walks up to her, tossing her a bottle of liquid.
“Take one cap of that every morning after you wake up. That should help for the safe delivery of the baby,” she says before turning to me. “This time I hope you heed my advice and don’t do something that will jeopardize her health,” her eyes bore into mine, and I understand what she means at once.
“Hey, this time is different,” I say to her, and she raises a brow.
“Is it?” she asks, and I sigh. “The drug is to weaken the baby. As it grows, it sucks away your strength until it becomes stronger as an alpha baby, but with this drug, the baby will get weaker over time and, on the due date, you’ll be stronger.”
She turns to leave.
“Thank you,” I say to her, and she opens the door, giving me one last glance before walking away.
“She always sounds angry with you. What have you done to her?” June asks, and I chuckle slightly, then grab her hands, pulling her up from the seat.
“Let’s have breakfast so you can nourish your body.” I kiss her cheek, and we make our way to the dining room.
There we find Rhea, sitting.
“Hey, Hiram,” she says to me, and I wave at her, then I pull out a seat for June, helping her sit before taking a seat close to her.
We begin our breakfast, and we make small talk through it all. I notice how lively Rhea makes June, and then it hits me. I know I have to make her stay, at least for the period June is pregnant. The house is large enough, and she can pick any of the rooms. This way, June doesn’t have to leave the house to visit her.
When we’re done with eating, both of them leave for the living area while I step away briefly to check on my family members. I speak to Hollis to know if he’s okay, and when it gets to Mother’s turn, I brace myself for the tantrum she is about to throw.
“I want to speak to June,” Mother says as soon as she gets a hold of the phone.
“Well, she’s currently unavailable, but I’m here to convey your message,” I lie, because I know it’s the only way I can get her to speak to me.
“Then tell her I hope she’s okay, and if she needs anything, she shouldn’t hesitate to call my line,” Mother says, then shuts off the call.
I return to the living room to find the both of them still chatting.
“Can I borrow June for a second?” I say to Rhea, who nods as I pull June up from the seat.
I take her towards the stairs.
“What if Rhea moves in with us?” I question, and she stares at me, raising a brow. “I’m not trying to control you, but I think you’ll need her company, and it’s better than having to drive across town every single time you want to see her. She makes you happy, and I don’t want to see the smile on your face leave.”
She folds her arms.
“I hate to admit you’re right,” she squints. “But only because I hate the distance to her place,” she says, then kisses my cheek, walking away.
I watch as she breaks the news to Rhea. Then they hug each other.
