Two Weeks Later
MELINA
“Thomas, I might not know much of Sicily, but at least I know the surrounding area on the way home,” Melina says, looking out the window. They are on their way home. Thomas just got discharged from the hospital. Melina is so happy as he is almost fully recovered.
“I know, principessa. I need to make a quick stop at one of the warehouses before we go home.”
“You just got discharged. How could you already be working?” Melina asks, concerned he might be stressing himself.
“Don’t worry. I’m not doing anything strenuous.”
“Please don’t; your wound hasn’t fully healed,” Melina says, touching his chest area where he got shot.
“I don’t like seeing you stressed about me, so I won’t,” Thomas says, kissing her on the cheeks.
“I don’t mind being stressed about you, but thank you anyways,” She smiles.
“You’re welcome.” He smiles back.
A few minutes later, they arrive at one of the Costanzo warehouses. Melina walks in, and her eyes almost fall out of their sockets. Ammunition that’s enough for the whole US Army to go to war with Russia stares back at her.
“How rich is your family?” Melina questions, seeing men load carts with AK-47s as she walks up a flight of stairs.
“Enough for all future generations not to work,” Thomas replies, opening the door of an office, and Melina walks in. The office has glass windows all around, making it easy for whoever is inside to see what the men downstairs are doing. It has brown couches with a glass coffee table in the middle. They are all opposite the black desk and office chairs.
“Wow, and all these are from weapons, clubs, and hotels only?” Melina asks, taking a seat on the couch. She knows Mafias tends to deal in drugs and women. She hopes that the Costanzo do not.
“Yes, I know what you’re thinking; my family would never traffic women. Only the women in my family are enough to oppose that.”
“That’s good to hear.”
“Wait for me here, and if you need anything, ask Leo outside to get it for you. I’ll be back soon,” Thomas says, kissing her softly on the lips.
“Okay.”
Melina gets comfortable on the couch and picks up her phone to surf the internet as Thomas walks out. She spends the next few hours on her phone, playing games, chatting, and watching videos, until she gets bored and falls asleep while waiting for Thomas.
The next time Melina opens her eyes, she finds herself on a plane.
“How the hell did I get here?” Melina asks, looking out the plane windows and seeing clouds.
“How was your sleep, principessa?” Thomas asks, sitting beside her on the private plane’s chair.
“Is this a dream?” Melina inquires, perplexed.
“No, we’re on our way to my private island.”
“Why?”
“Why is because you deserve a vacation amore, after everything that has happened,” Thomas says, taking her hand.
“Aww, Thomas, that’s really thoughtful of you,” Melina beams, smiling, and pecks his lips.
“I know.” He smiles back at her.
“I can’t believe I slept through you carrying me from the office to the car, the entire ride over, and even as the plane took off.” Melina believes that’s the plausible explanation for how she got on the plane. How exhausted was I?
“I’m not surprised; you’ve barely gotten any good sleep these past two weeks, having to take care of me in the hospital. That’s why I didn’t even bother waking you up.”
“Thank you.”
“You should get some more sleep before we arrive.” He moves his mouth to her ear and whispers, “Because you will barely be getting any once we arrive.” He brings his face back to face hers. Melina sees his lustful gaze, and she clenches her thighs together. He smirks, seeing it.
“Okay,” she whispers back, holding his burring gaze that was clearly undressing her. The thought of finally having sex with Thomas again makes her clench her thighs more tightly. She misses him.
“I’ll wake up once we arrive.” He pulls his eyes away from her, licking his lips. Melina releases a deep breath and fans herself with her hands. His gaze was burning her.
“Thank you,” Melina says, closing her eyes and reclining on the couch. She couldn’t wait to open her eyes again and be on Thomas’ private island.
