I can’t see Emily’s face, but she looks pretty tense. Then I glance to her side and notice Alex standing next to them, looking uncomfortable.
I walk up to him, and as soon as he hears my footsteps, he smiles and opens his arms to me. I run to him and hug him, feeling his long arms wrap around my waist.
“Hey, Daddy,” I greet him, feeling his warm lips press against my cheek.
“Hey, love,” he whispers. I pull away slightly, and Alex takes the opportunity to kiss me.
“You owed me my good morning kiss,” he says, and I pout.
Alex looks directly at my face, and I take the chance to study his features.
“I have something in mind for tonight, and it’s going to be amazing,” he says. I make a face.
“Speaking of which…” I whisper, lowering my gaze and stepping back from him.
“What’s wrong?” he asks, gently caressing my waist.
I glance at Emily, who is staring at Niall with tears in her eyes.
“You promised,” she growls, and Niall shakes his head.
“I’m not going to fight you here. Get in the car,” he says, his tone not exactly kind.
Emily rolls her eyes and walks over to the Niall’s car, slamming the door shut. I sigh and look at Niall as he runs a hand through his hair and exhales. He then walks to his car and starts driving away. I turn to Alex, who looks at me, confused.
“Do you think you could skip work this afternoon and get ahead on your plans?” I ask with an innocent smile. Alex raises his eyebrows, and I pout. “Come on! It’s been so long since we spent an entire afternoon together. We can even end the night at a party,” I say with a shrug. Alex grimaces. “I promise to help you finish your work early tomorrow. Please,” I beg, my voice a little higher than usual.
Alex looks at me for a few seconds before sighing.
“Okay,” he finally says, and I grin from ear to ear.
“By the way, a party? Are you serious?” he asks, amused. I intertwine my hand with his and nod, bringing my face close to his. Our noses touch, and our breaths mingle.
I part my lips as soon as I feel one of Alex’s hands on my waist.
“Good afternoon,” Professor Winston’s voice cuts in, startling me.
I pull away from Alex quickly, my face heating up. How embarrassing. I didn’t even remember we were still at school. Alex nods politely, and I hide my face in his chest.
I hear my boyfriend laugh, feeling the vibration against my forehead. I wrinkle my nose and look up at him.
“I have to say, that just made my day,” Alex says, still laughing. I frown at him.
“My teacher just saw me almost kissing his ex-coworker,” I mutter, raising an eyebrow.
“By ‘your ex-coworker,’ you mean your boyfriend? You know, the one you live with, sleep with, kiss, and fuck every day?” he teases in a louder tone.
I quickly place my hand over his mouth, and he grins.
“We don’t fuck,” I say in the same tone, raising my eyebrows. “Not every day,” I whisper, earning a laugh from him. He tightens his grip around my waist, lifting me off the ground, and starts walking to his car.
As I’m about to get in, Alex stops me. I turn toward him, and he seizes the moment to pull me close and kiss me.
I run my hands along his neck and stand on my tiptoes, deepening the kiss.
I feel his smile against my lips as his hands move down to my thighs. I gasp softly.
“Four fucking days, and I’m going crazy from not touching you,” he growls. My cheeks flush at his tone.
I take his hands and move them away from my body. He frowns.
“You can’t touch me like that until we get home after the party,” I say.
“That’s unfair,” he pouts. “But it’s been so long! I’m going crazy!” he whines. I laugh and shake my head.
I cup his face in my hands and kiss him quickly. Alex presses his forehead against mine and sighs.
“You want to kill me,” he whispers. I laugh and hug him.
“And I’m the nymphomaniac?” I tease, still laughing. Alex pouts and kisses my forehead.
“You are,” he says. I roll my eyes and get into the car.
“Are you sure?” Alex asks again, I roll my eyes and take his face in my hands.
“Alex, I’m completely sure. You’re my boyfriend. There’s nothing wrong with going to parties together,” I reassure him with a smile. He still looks unsure. “Come on, let’s have fun,” I encourage him, winking as I step out of the car.
A few seconds later, Alex joins me, and I intertwine our hands, glancing at him. He looks nervous, which melts my heart.
We enter the big house filled with people dancing and already drunk. Even though it’s only eleven, some are already high or wasted.
“I need a drink,” Alex says. I nod, and we head to the bar. He orders a whiskey on the rocks and sits on one of the chair. I grab one of the glasses on the bar and take a sip.
“I remember when I was in high school. My friends and I always threw parties like this whenever we needed money,” Alex says. I raise my eyebrows, feeling his hand on my waist.
“You needed money?” I mock, and he shrugs.
“I’ve never liked depending on my father,” he confesses. He pulls me closer, positioning me between his legs. “You look more than beautiful tonight,” he says loudly enough for me to hear.
I wrinkle my nose as his rough hands caress my bare waist. His gaze is intense, but there’s a certain sparkle in his eyes that makes my stomach flip every time I see him. My lips part when I feel his breath mix with mine.
