When Lillian woke up, she was already at Taylor Mansion.
She shot up from the bed suddenly, feeling like her waist and legs didn’t belong to her.
Looking at the clothes she was wearing, she suppressed the urge to gag, quickly stripping them off before heading to the bathroom. Conrad left a lot of milky white liquid on her clothes. She had no idea where this bastard found the energy for all of it.
She tossed all the clothes she had worn that day into the trash, then rummaged through the drawers for her birth control pills. But no matter how hard she looked, she couldn’t find them.
By now, it was already dawn.
Lillian changed into some new clothes, grabbed her bag, and was about to head to the hospital.
As she was heading downstairs, Nancy had just finished making breakfast.
Lillian packed a few things to take with her and said, “How did I get back last night?”
Without looking at Nancy, she heard Nancy respond, “You’ve been coming and going a lot lately. I only knew you were back because I saw shoes at the door. I didn’t want to disturb you. Is everything okay?”
Lillian swallowed her disgust and replied, “It’s fine.”
She grabbed the lunchbox, walked toward the door, and said, “Nancy, I consider you family. Don’t lie to me.”
Nancy looked helpless. “Did I do something wrong?”
Lillian shook her head. “Maybe I’m just overthinking.”
What could Nancy do about what Conrad wanted?
She just couldn’t understand what this man was up to.
After going to the hospital, Lillian got an appointment with a gynecologist and asked the doctor to prescribe her a bottle of birth control pills.
“Again? You’re taking these too often. If you don’t want kids, your boyfriend should take precautions. While there’s no 100% guarantee, constantly taking pills isn’t good for you.”
“Thanks, doctor.”
It seemed like Conrad didn’t want her on birth control at all. In fact, he probably wouldn’t mind her getting pregnant.
Just the thought of it made Lillian feel frustrated.
As she lay on the gynecological exam table, pulling down her pants, the doctor frowned. “You need to use some ointment as well. Or maybe you should consider switching a boyfriend-if his size doesn’t fit, it’s painful for the woman too.”
Lillian couldn’t bring herself to explain her situation. The doctor probably wouldn’t understand.
If Conrad were a reasonable person, she would’ve been out of this mess by now.
She closed her eyes, opened her email, and checked for responses, hoping that things were moving forward smoothly.
At the same time, Ford entered Conrad’s office, placing a printed contract on Conrad’s desk.
“Mr. Conrad, this is Miss Lillian’s immigration application form.”
“Immigration?” Conrad paused, his hand freezing.
“Yeah, it also has information about Miss Lillian’s grandmother. Looks like…,” Ford glanced at Conrad’s expression, “Miss Lillian wants to leave the country.”
Conrad stared at the immigration application, his eyes cold. “You know what to do.”
“Understood.”
Because of Conrad’s situation, Lillian felt drained when she returned from the hospital to the set. She just wanted to get home and rest.
But as the car pulled into Taylor Mansion, she suddenly slammed on the brakes.
There was someone else in the garage.
Lillian gripped the steering wheel, her eyes landing on the man leaning against the front of her car.
If she could, she really wanted to just hit the gas and run him over.
But as the car remained stationary, Conrad walked up to her window and said, “Open the door.”
Lillian immediately locked the car door.
Conrad stared at her as though she were a child, his expression amused. “Do you really want me to force my way in?”
Lillian was fuming. She started the car, but Conrad said, “It doesn’t matter if you damage my car. But if you wreck yours, do you have the money to fix it?”
Lillian’s car nearly slammed into him.
She gripped the steering wheel, an unexpected surge of anger filling her. Grabbing her bag, she got out of the car and threw it straight at Conrad.
“What do you want from me? Why can’t you just leave me alone?!”
Conrad took the hit, then bent down and effortlessly scooped her up, throwing her into the car before driving off.
Lillian nearly rolled off the back seat. She quickly got up, ready to scratch his eyes out.
Conrad glanced at her. “What were you going to the hospital for? Out of birth control pills? Getting a prescription? Lillian, have you ever thought about giving me a child?”
Lillian was completely speechless. “Are you suffering from intermittent memory loss or something?! Have you forgotten what you promised me? You were the one who let me go! And now, what the hell are you doing?!”
Conrad drove on with a neutral expression. “Don’t annoy me. Let me calm down.”
“Who’s annoying who here?!”
“Why did you apply for immigration?”
“That’s my right. What’s wrong with not liking City N?”
“You can’t leave.”
Lillian tensed up, glaring at Conrad. Her voice cracked with frustration. “Then what the hell do you want from me?! What are you trying to force me into?!”
“Lillian, right now, I don’t even know what I want, so until I figure it out, stay in City N. If you leave my sight, I don’t know what I might do. You know how I am-sometimes I can’t even control myself.”
Lillian gave up and just lay back in the back seat, silent, trying to make herself as inconspicuous as possible.
She really wanted to know: What was wrong with Conrad?
What was Evelyn and Daisy up to? Couldn’t they even control their own man? How could they let him out and have him keep bothering her every day?
The car eventually stopped at an out-of-the-way area. The scenery was full of lush green mountains and forests.
Conrad picked her up without a word.
“Let me go, I can walk on my own.”
“You sure you’re going to follow me properly?”
“Where else could I go?!” She didn’t even have a car, and she wasn’t into the idea of walking back to the city on her own.
Conrad remained expressionless. “But I want to carry you.”
“….” Lillian had nothing but curses running through her mind.
“Mr. Conrad, you’ve finally arrived,” the staff said, rushing to greet them.
Conrad nodded and put Lillian down. “Ada’s inside. Don’t you want it?”
Lillian stayed silent.
“It’s just an animal. Besides, dogs don’t really remember humans for long.”
“How can you say that when Ada calls you ‘mom’?” Conrad was clearly upset by her tone.
He grabbed her arm and pulled her inside.
They entered a large, transparent glass room that was essentially a huge eco-park.
Conrad led her to another vehicle, and the staff drove them further into the park.
It wasn’t until they reached the nearest surveillance room that Lillian finally saw Ada.
Ada was fighting a female dog, biting down on its neck.
Lillian had seen wild animals on TV before, but seeing this up close, especially with a pet she’d raised, was hard to accept.
Conrad spoke into the microphone, “Ada.”
The dog paused, its dark eyes scanning the surroundings with confusion. Then it let out a soft, playful sound, trying to spot Conrad.
Conrad turned to Lillian. “See? It misses us.”
