Chapter 80 The Public Humiliation

The entire room went silent.
Felix suddenly patted Conrad on the shoulder, and Conrad slightly turned his head, staring at the audaciously fat hand on his shoulder. His gaze then followed the thick, broad hand as it moved toward his face.
Felix chuckled and joked with the others, “Our Conrad loves to joke around.”
Then, his face darkened, and he turned to scold the waiter, “What are you standing there for? Get another banquet prepared immediately.”
A group of waiters rushed in, carrying trays and changing plates.
Evelyn, at this point, no longer wanted to stay seated. She wanted to sit next to Conrad.
“Conrad, let me order a few dishes you like.” Before Conrad could respond, Evelyn adopted the posture of a hostess, “Move my seat here.”
“Mr. Conrad, we didn’t expect you to come today, it’s such a surprise!”
“Miss Evelyn is with our production, don’t worry, Mr. Conrad, we’ll take good care of Miss Evelyn.”
“I’ve seen Miss Evelyn’s qualifications and background, and I think she’s very talented. She was born for this profession.”
These so-called artists and directors, who were usually high and mighty on television, were now saying whatever they could to please Conrad. They hoped he would look at them favorably.
Lillian found it all utterly laughable.
Felix sat down, but just as Lillian was about to get up, he pressed her back into her seat.
“What’s the rush? Look at Miss Evelyn, a beauty like her adds to the charm, making things more lively.” Felix said, turning to the others, “You all agree, don’t you?”
Evelyn shot a cold glance, sneering internally. Lillian, now you understand your place.
Conrad still cared more about me. After all, when I offended you last time, Conrad had someone track me down and bring me back. My treatment had never changed.
I was let into the entertainment industry, while you, Lillian, are nothing but a mistress who’s forever hidden in the shadows.
Even the waiters could see the difference between us.
Just then, Lillian spoke up. “The king crab salad with caviar here is a bit too heavy on the taste, which isn’t Mr. Conrad’s preference. It’s better to change it to something like pan-seared scallops, which would suit Mr. Conrad’s taste more.”
The king crab was the dish Evelyn had ordered.
Evelyn sneered, about to scold Lillian for knowing her place. After all, if Lillian was out here accompanying another man, she shouldn’t keep thinking about someone else’s man. There should be a limit to how shameless one could be!
However, before Evelyn could respond, Lillian stood up and said, “Excuse me, I’m feeling a little unwell. I’ll be right back after going to the bathroom.”
The whole room was left in stunned silence, as if they had just heard some huge secret-though they also pretended as if nothing had happened at all!
What did Lillian mean by that?
Was Lillian also Conrad’s mistress?
Now that they thought about it, Evelyn did look a bit like Lillian…
Felix, being sharp, knew that Lillian had intentionally cast a line, waiting for someone to bite. But as the one who set the trap, she had just run off.
None of the people in the room were fools.
But Felix, as Daisy’s uncle, felt that he was now equivalent to Conrad’s elder. He didn’t think it was a big deal for a man to have several women. Besides, he had already flirted with Lillian, and since Conrad hadn’t said anything, it seemed he had implicitly allowed it. After all, she was just a woman.
As Alvin’s daughter, even if Lillian’s reputation was tarnished, Felix still wanted to taste what she was like. She’d slept with so many rich young men, what was one more with him?
The mood in the room began to warm up, with conversations flowing freely.
Felix took a bite of the dish and said, “Conrad, you know Lillian, right?”
Conrad didn’t touch his food, flicking the ash off his cigarette, his eyelids flicking up to look at the fucking old man, wondering what he had to say.
“I hooked up with this girl last time-she was wet and fresh. I could introduce her to you~ How about I trade her for Lillian? I know you’ve had a thing with her. Such a beautiful woman, who wouldn’t want to sleep with her? She’s got a great body. If you’re tired of her, it wouldn’t be a big deal to pass her over to me. We’re practically family now. Don’t worry, I won’t let Daisy find out about it.”
Conrad gave a cold smile. “So I should thank you?”
“Heh~ We’re family, right? What do you think?”
Conrad pointed to the drink he had just flicked his ash into. “Drink it, and I’ll tell you.”
He didn’t lower his voice when he said this.
Felix’s smile froze on his face. He wiped his nose and said, “Conrad, this family joke isn’t funny.”
“How? Didn’t anyone tell you I, Conrad, don’t joke around?” Conrad stretched out his leg and kicked the table, making it shake. “The last person who tried to joke with me-want me to tell you his name?”
Felix swallowed. Conrad slowly twisted the cigarette butt in his hand, pressing it against Felix’s skin. Felix tried to pull his hand away, but Conrad’s sharp, menacing gaze kept him frozen, not daring to move.
The heat from the cigarette burned his hand, and cold sweat began to bead on his forehead. Especially in front of so many people, Felix didn’t know where to put his face after Conrad’s public humiliation.
Conrad flashed him a grin. “Uncle, I hate it when people eye my things. Even if someone just takes a glance at what’s mine, I’d gouge out their eyes. If you don’t want to live properly and are tired of life, just say it. I’ll send you straight to hell!”
After that, Conrad suddenly stood up and yanked Felix’s chair from under him.
Felix landed hard on the ground. His heavy body hurt so much he couldn’t get up. As he flailed around, his hand brushed against Evelyn’s leg.
Evelyn’s face immediately changed, and she screamed, “Don’t touch me!”
She was Conrad’s woman, after all. This old pervert-disgusting!
Someone tried to help Felix up, but Conrad was already getting up to leave.
“Conrad!” Evelyn immediately grabbed her purse and hurried after him.
“Conrad, it’s been so long since we’ve seen each other. You finally came to find me today-can you… can you…?”
“I have a business to take care of. You can do whatever you want.” Conrad glanced her over. “Didn’t anyone teach you how to dress? You look like a nouveau riche.”
Her whole outfit screamed “I’m rich.”
Conrad looked at her in disgust, waved his hand, and signaled his bodyguards to get her away.
Evelyn wasn’t willing to just leave like that. After a moment of thought, she decided to return to the dinner. After all, her gilded supporting role was secured, and she would still demand her chance to shine!
Just as Conrad was walking out, a hand suddenly reached out from the side and grabbed his collar, pulling him into the private room.
Conrad looked down as the heavy door slammed shut. In front of him stood the small woman, her eyes wide like a cat, staring at him.
“Waiting for me?”
Lillian wanted to laugh at his obvious question, but since she had something to ask of him, she didn’t want to deliberately anger Conrad.
So, she lowered her head, her fingers hooking around his belt as she gently tugged at his zipper.
“What are you doing?”
“I miss you~”
