“Shit!” Gordon cursed as he slammed his foot on the pedal, speeding up to try and grab Hunter by the throat.
But Hunter’s people blocked his way, and a fight broke out between them and Gordon’s crew.
“You still have time to fight me? What, you and that woman got something going on? Interesting,” Hunter said with a cold smirk, his fake eye glinting with a venomous shine.
Gordon tossed his phone to one of his guys. “Call Conrad. Tell him Hunter’s got his woman, and if he doesn’t get here now, he’s never going to see her again!”
With that, he pulled on his helmet, grabbed a baseball bat, and charged forward.
“Gordon!!”
A few of his men rushed to follow him, worried he’d get himself into trouble. Meanwhile, another guy grabbed his phone, found Conrad’s number, and dialed.
Hunter was waiting for this moment, so there was no way he was going to let anyone stop him.
At that moment, Conrad was dropping Daisy off at her place. When the phone rang, he thought it was Gordon calling to complain about the recent problems created by he.
“What’s going on?”
“It’s Conrad? I’m Tony. A guy named Hunter grabbed your woman and is using her as a prize in some crazy game up on Gordon’s turf. Gordon just charged up there, and he told me to tell you-if you don’t come now, you’re not coming at all.”
“Where?!?” Conrad jumped up from the back seat.
Daisy was startled. “Conrad.”
Conrad hung up the phone. “Stop the car!”
The driver slammed on the brakes.
Conrad jumped out, yanked Daisy out of the car, shoved the driver out, and hopped in the driver’s seat, spinning the car around and speeding off.
“Conrad! Conrad!!” Daisy stood there, watching the car speed away, completely stunned.
She turned to Ford, hoping he could explain what was going on.
But Ford just jumped into Andrew’s car and took off after Conrad, dialing a number as he went. “Send a helicopter. I’ll text you the coordinates.”
Andrew, following the car behind, had no idea what was happening, so he just kept tailing Conrad. But Conrad was driving too fast, and soon, he was out of sight.
“Head for Adventure Mountain,” Ford said, having heard everything clearly. Looks like Lillian’s disappearance wasn’t random-this was planned.
Hopefully, everything would turn out okay.
Lillian was up on that very tip of the Adventure Mountain.
The cross she was tied to, already barely standing, swayed in the wind. She watched the flickering headlights as they came closer, closed her eyes, and then opened them again, determined not to give up. Her gaze stayed locked on the road ahead.
Gordon, racing forward, spotted her frail figure on the cross from a distance.
What the hell was going on?
Gordon twisted the throttle, pushing the bike to its maximum speed. It was almost like a streak of lightning.
He quickly forced a few cars to stop, hitting them with his bat, but the cars ahead of him were race cars and sports cars.
Gordon gritted his teeth. He narrowly avoided death several times, but when he finally managed to push the car in front of him off the road, he barely caught his breath before a car zoomed past him. Hunter, in the driver’s seat, shot him a wicked grin.
“Shit!” Gordon cursed and gunned the engine, chasing after him.
“Hunter, you son of a bitch, stop!”
But Hunter just laughed maniacally and sped up. The cliff was right ahead. Lillian was right there.
Hunter didn’t let up on the gas even as Gordon slammed his bat against his car. He just kept speeding ahead. He watched the camera in his car, imagining how beautiful it would be when this woman fell off the cliff.
All Lillian could see was a car speeding towards her, and someone riding a bike, risking their life to stop it.
Who was it?
Whoever it was, they were her last chance.
“Help me!!” Her survival instincts kicked in, and she screamed for help, tears flooding her eyes.
Gordon’s throat felt like it was on fire, but Hunter suddenly slammed on the brakes. Gordon couldn’t stop in time. His knee guard absorbed some of the shock, but it wasn’t enough. He was thrown out of the bike, rolling three times on the ground.
“!!” Lillian gasped, then shut her eyes in despair.
Hunter, however, just slowly started reversing the car. He hummed a little tune, leisurely squinted his eyes, lit a cigarette, and then floored the gas pedal, heading straight for Lillian.
Lillian couldn’t bring herself to open her eyes.
“No!!!” Gordon reached out to her, but the distance was too far.
Hunter was a maniac.
Just as it seemed like it was over, just as Hunter was about to hit Lillian…
A black SUV suddenly came barreling out of a side road, speeding straight at Hunter’s car and smashing into him!
Hunter’s eyes widened in shock as he saw Conrad’s cold, ruthless face. Before he could react, shards of glass from the car window pierced his body as the car flipped.
But Conrad didn’t stop. He backed up and charged forward again, slamming into the wreck, relentlessly pushing forward as if he wanted to crush the car into nothing and kill the people inside.
Gordon, barely holding himself together, crawled up.
Conrad finally stopped before he smashed Hunter’s car to pieces, and then got out of his car, and yanked Hunter out of the wreckage like a dead dog.
“You little cockroach in the gutter-how dare you touch my woman?!” Conrad’s boots hit Hunter with brutal force, each kick harder than the last.
Hunter was barely conscious, blood frothing from his mouth, teeth flying out, but he still managed to sneer. “Looks like… this woman’s more important to you than I thought.”
Conrad narrowed his eyes and grabbed Hunter by the head, slamming it into the ground with full force. Blood splattered across Conrad’s face as Hunter gritted his teeth in pain.
“So you wanna kill me now? I’ve got one more trick up my sleeve…” Hunter’s right hand moved, pressing a button.
Conrad whirled around, and in an instant, the cross holding Lillian lost its support and began to tip over the cliff.
Lillian didn’t have time to react, and in a flash, she disappeared from view.
“Lillian!” Gordon shouted in horror.
The next moment, a sleek black figure jumped past him, and then leaped off the cliff without hesitation.
Gordon froze, his eyes wide in shock, unable to make a sound.
Conrad… actually jumped after her!!
Hunter, just as stunned, couldn’t believe it either.
No one could have imagined that Conrad-a man like him-would jump off a cliff to save a woman.
