Since joining the production, Sarah hadn’t posted anything on Twitter, leaving her account dormant. But that afternoon, she finally uploaded a set of new photos.
In the pictures, Sarah wore an elegant riding outfit and sat atop a beautiful golden horse, looking confident and radiant.
Her fans, who hadn’t seen any updates from her in a while, flooded the comments section in excitement, quickly racking up thousands of responses.
“OMG, she looks so cool! The riding pics are gorgeous! Where is this? That castle looks too real to be a set.”
“She needs to post more often. I can’t take any more of Elisa’s cringe content.”
“Is this from a new show? What genre is it?”
The post quickly went viral, overtaking Elisa’s trending Twitter post from earlier.
However, some sharp-eyed users pointed out that Sarah wasn’t on a set but on vacation-no production would use a purebred Akhal-Teke horse worth millions of dollars just for filming.
After saving the photos, Sarah’s fans couldn’t resist mocking Elisa online:
“So, Elisa, are you gonna post horse-riding pics tomorrow? Better go rent a million-dollar horse first. LOL.”
Elisa’s fans clapped back, attacking Sarah over her hair color:
“Get your facts straight-who’s copying who? Elisa posted her purple hair first, and Sarah ran to dye hers to look just like her. Who’s the real copycat now?”
“Heh, I have purple hair too. I dyed it way before Elisa. So can I say Elisa copied me? At the end of the day, whoever looks bad should feel embarrassed. And in my eyes, Sarah’s the prettiest.”
“Elisa’s boyfriend is a real rich guy. Y’all should look up how big the Martin Family Group is. Elisa just stays low-key, not like some people who love to show off.”
“Yeah, yeah, sure. Sarah’s the one who’s flashy. Meanwhile, Elisa’s always posting about the luxury bags and clothes her boyfriend gives her. So modest and down-to-earth, right?”
“Elisa’s boyfriend is Ronald, the heir to the Martin family. Some of you trolls will never even meet a rich kid like that, yet you have the nerve to mock Elisa about not being able to ride a purebred horse? Please, Elisa doesn’t even care about horses.”
“Isn’t Ronald just asking his parents for money? It’s not impressive-what’s impressive are his parents, not him.”
“Get lost, haters! When Ronald’s parents die, won’t all of their money go to him anyway?”
The argument between Sarah’s fans and Elisa’s fans kept escalating, to the point where both sides were practically at war with each other.
Meanwhile, Elisa stared at the photos of Sarah for a long, long time.
Her agent was beyond frustrated. “Why did you insist on dyeing your hair that color? Not only does it make makeup a nightmare, but even photo editing is a hassle. If you just wanted pictures, couldn’t you have worn a wig?”
The purple hair made Elisa’s complexion look sallow and cheap, and no amount of heavy makeup could change that.
Her retoucher always had to compare Elisa’s photos to Sarah’s, doing their best to make Elisa resemble Sarah as much as possible.
Elisa gritted her teeth as she stared at the horse Sarah had been riding. After a long moment, she turned to her agent. “Can you get me the exact same one?”
Her agent’s headache kicked in immediately. “That horse is a purebred, and only top-tier billionaires own them. Why would they loan it to us? Just dye your hair back tonight. You’ve got a public event tomorrow, and we can’t let the fans see you looking like this.”
Even the agent couldn’t understand why Elisa was so obsessed with competing with Sarah.
Elisa didn’t understand it either. She had already taken Ronald away from Sarah, yet somehow, Sarah still seemed to be living a better life.
If she could meet Holden… then everything that belonged to Sarah would become hers.
Watching Sarah enjoy things that she believed would eventually be hers drove Elisa mad with jealousy.
Even though she knew Sarah hated her, Elisa still went out of her way to copy her, just to get under her skin.
Knowing her agent couldn’t help any further, Elisa had no choice but to reach out to Ronald.
She tried calling him multiple times, but he didn’t answer. Frustrated, Elisa went straight to his apartment and unlocked the door with the passcode.
What greeted her was the sight of two people tangled up on the couch, fast asleep in each other’s arms.
Elisa’s face went pale in an instant.
Ronald was passed out drunk, and the girl in his arms, completely topless, stirred when she noticed Elisa. Panicking, the girl grabbed her clothes from the floor and scrambled to cover herself.
Enraged, Elisa swung her handbag at the girl. “You’re seducing someone else’s boyfriend? Do you have no shame, you slut?”
The girl looked terrified. “I-I wasn’t seducing him! He paid me-”
She tried shaking Ronald awake, but he was out cold, snoring like a pig and completely unresponsive.
Fuming, Elisa yanked the girl’s clothes and gave her a beating before kicking her out the door.
It wasn’t until daylight that Ronald finally woke up.
Seeing Elisa next to him, he felt a mix of guilt and irritation.
Just then, his phone rang-it was one of his friends.
“Ronald, was Mimi with you last night?”
Ronald shot a guilty glance at Elisa. “Yeah.”
His friend on the other end of the call sounded tense. “Why’d you throw her out in the middle of the night? Something happened to her.”
That girl, disheveled and humiliated after being kicked out by Elisa, had tried to get a ride late at night. Some passerby had violated her and, to cover it up, ended up killing her.
Elisa didn’t seem the least bit surprised.
She had known all her life-every girl who dared cross her or fight her for anything always ended up ruined or dead. It never failed.
Sure, she’d face some struggles along the way, but as long as she pushed through, things always took a turn for the better. Luck and fate were always on her side.
Ronald scowled, irritated. “What does any of that have to do with me?”
“Her friends know she was with you last night. If word gets out, your company’s reputation will take a hit.”
After hanging up, Ronald grew even more agitated. “You threw her out, didn’t you?”
Elisa, wiping away some fake tears, whispered, “I’ll take care of it. But we can’t keep doing this, Ronald. I want you to publicly acknowledge me as your girlfriend on social media from now on.”
At that moment, Ronald thought of Sarah, and his chest tightened with guilt and frustration. But in the end, he muttered, “Fine.”
Later, Sarah was scrolling through the news when she saw an article about the murder of a young woman. The report explicitly mentioned that the girl had been with the Martin Family heir, and angry comments flooded the company’s Twitter page.
But Elisa quickly issued a statement, saying the girl had gone to Ronald’s place to seduce him and left after Elisa arrived because Ronald had chosen to stay with her.
Thanks to Elisa’s response, the online fury shifted-people began blaming the murdered girl, calling her a shameless homewrecker who got what she deserved.
Sarah blinked at the news. She remembered this exact scenario from the original story. Readers had felt sorry for Elisa, believing that Ronald had wronged her by being tempted by an evil side character. The side character, they agreed, got what she deserved.
Just like how Sarah’s tragic death later in the story had been seen as a fitting punishment for her too.
