Sarah’s afternoon shoot wasn’t complicated. It was for a high-end skincare essence. She wasn’t the brand’s spokesperson, just an ambassador, so there wouldn’t be too much follow-up work.
But the moment the ad was released, drama ensued.
Elisa’s fans instantly saw Sarah as a rival.
If you ignored the whole situation and just looked at Elisa’s Twitter photos, the resemblance between the two was striking-so much so that it was inevitable they’d become competitors in the entertainment industry.
Things escalated further when Elisa wore a similar dress to an event and subtly accused Sarah in interviews of trying to outmaneuver her, enraging her fanbase even more.
Meanwhile, Sarah’s fans weren’t impressed with Elisa, dismissing her as a poor imitation of Sarah, both in looks and personality, labeling her a liar with questionable morals.
Recently, Elisa had landed an endorsement with a cosmetics brand. Ever since her rise to fame, she’d been taking every offer she could get, so long as they didn’t conflict with each other.
But that particular brand was a bit shady-a low-quality product. There were countless complaints online about the cleanser causing skin sensitivity and the moisturizer ruining people’s faces.
Still, with the endorsement live, Elisa’s fans could only blindly support her, even posting receipts of their purchases to prove their loyalty.
Then, the very next day, Sarah’s new beauty ad dropped-for a luxury brand known worldwide.
The price of a single bottle of Sarah’s endorsed essence could buy six full sets of the skincare line Elisa was promoting.
Elisa’s fans lost it. They flooded her Twitter, demanding that she stop accepting such low-tier endorsements in the future.
Scrolling through the endless comments, Elisa felt her frustration rising.
Her agent frowned. “Your fans are looking out for you. They have a point. Taking on all these no-name brand deals is dragging your reputation down.”
Elisa wasn’t having it. “If they don’t like it, they don’t have to buy it. Why should that stop me from making money?”
After getting into the industry and rising to fame with Ronald’s help, Elisa finally realized how fast the money could roll in.
Her family wasn’t well-off, and back when she was with Ronald, she had more spending money than most of her friends, but it still couldn’t compare to the wealthy girls around him.
Now that she was a celebrity, making quick cash, there was no way she’d give up any opportunities to profit.
Her agent was shocked by Elisa’s short-sightedness.
“These low-tier endorsements are dragging you down. What are you gonna do when the big brands stop calling?” the agent said, annoyed. “Besides, Sarah’s fee for a single ad is worth three or four of yours combined.”
Elisa was skeptical. “Really? Who’s Sarah’s agent? How is she getting these deals? Can you poach them for me?”
The agent gave a dry laugh. “It’s her. She handles everything herself-ads, acting gigs, everything.”
Elisa was frustrated, unwilling to believe it. “No way. She only gets clever when it comes to stealing men. There’s no way she’s better than me.”
Her agent sighed, not in the mood to argue.
Elisa forced herself to calm down, realizing she might’ve gotten carried away after entering the industry. Maybe Sarah wasn’t as brainless as she thought.
Elisa had been watching Sarah closely, even copying her outfits every day. Now, as she scrolled through Sarah’s main Twitter account, she noticed how few business posts Sarah made-each one, however, was top-tier.
She glanced at her own Twitter feed, filled with ads every few days, most of which she wouldn’t even use herself.
Elisa told her agent to reach out to Sarah’s brand partners, but no one was interested when they heard it was for Elisa.
After getting snubbed, her agent complained, “Without the right connections, there’s no way we can land deals like that.”
“How can Sarah do it, then?” Elisa asked, frustrated.
The agent wanted to say it was because Sarah had a good reputation and carefully chose her business partners. Smart brands liked working with someone that forward-thinking.
But not wanting to upset Elisa, she just muttered, “Who knows?”
Elisa felt a wave of jealousy before an idea hit her-Sarah’s resources probably came from sucking up to her powerful husband.
If she had Sarah’s husband, she’d be even more successful.
Elisa bit her lip. “I’m going to aim higher from now on. No more cheap ads. I’ll focus on acting for now.”
Later, she pulled out her phone and checked Sarah’s alt account.
That day, Sarah had posted a picture of herself wearing the princess dance gown from Heart Throb, likely taken at home in front of a floor-to-ceiling window.
In the flood of praise in the comments, Elisa spotted one that caught her eye.
“Wow, that outfit looks exactly like the one from the movie! I heard the original jewelry is in a private museum, and the silk gown is kept at City N’s textile gallery, but neither is on display anymore. It’s such a privilege she got to wear them during filming.”
Elisa searched online and found that after the movie’s success, several clothing shops had started selling identical outfits and accessories.
She ordered a set immediately and took her own photos the next day.
While Sarah had posted a single unfiltered shot, Elisa posted a perfectly polished nine-photo grid.
“@Sarah. Sarah, people are saying we look alike! I took some princess dance photos too-do you think we could pass as sisters?”
This shameless move left Sarah’s fans completely dumbfounded-they didn’t even know where to begin with their insults. Meanwhile, Elisa’s fans were down in the comments hyping her up, calling her gorgeous and perfect.
Sarah’s face darkened, and she almost chucked her phone across the room.
Out of all the people in the world, why did this woman have to obsessively stalk her? Even flies weren’t this annoying.
Damn it.
Her mind wandered to a ridiculous thought-was Elisa secretly in love with her?
When it came to shamelessness, Elisa had it down to an art form.
After holding back for a bit, Sarah decided enough was enough. If her “elegant and graceful” image had to crumble, so be it. She wasn’t built to play the “nice girl” role anyway-being blunt was more her style.
She paced around the room, trying to cool off, but it wasn’t working. Finally, she logged into Twitter, retweeted Elisa’s post, and wrote:
“You are such an angelic bitch. Get lost!!”
Her phone was way too expensive to throw-$20, 000 wasn’t worth the tantrum. She scanned the room and locked eyes on a vase sitting on the table. It had a sleek, modern design and definitely wasn’t some priceless antique.
But just to be safe, she asked Butler Ted, “Hey, I’m really pissed. Can I smash this to let off some steam?”
Without missing a beat, Butler Ted pushed the vase toward her and said, “Masterpiece. Worth 300 grand. If you break it, you’ll have to pay for it.”
Sarah awkwardly scratched her nose and gave a sheepish laugh. “Oh, really? Haha… Never mind, then. I wasn’t really gonna break it. Honestly, it’s kinda ugly anyway.”
These days, celebrities rarely jump into fights directly. They’d usually let their fans do the dirty work, stirring things up quietly and then deciding whether to calm things down or pour more fuel on the fire.
But Sarah’s approach was risky-it could easily backfire.
This time, though, her fans were beyond mad. No one likes seeing someone shamelessly copy their idol, let alone act snarky about it online.
So when Sarah fired back, Elisa’s Twitter comments quickly shifted from “Elisa looks gorgeous in this outfit! Can’t wait for her next period drama!” to “You are such an angelic bitch. Get lost!!”
Within hours, Sarah’s comment was retweeted tens of thousands of times.
Curious strangers flocked to the thread, enjoying the drama.
Who doesn’t love a good fight on social media?
Many of Sarah’s fans had originally followed her because of her stunning looks-one brief moment in the movie had hooked them, and they’d stayed glued to her Twitter ever since.
Elisa clinging to Sarah like a piece of gum stuck to a shoe had already irritated them to no end. Every time Sarah did something, Elisa would copy it, and her shamelessness seemed unstoppable, no matter how much they insulted her.
They’d been holding back for a while, itching to let loose-and Sarah gave them the green light by starting the fight herself.
Sarah had always been straightforward and protective of her fans. She wasn’t the type to manipulate her followers from behind the scenes while reaping all the benefits. If there was a problem, she’d confront it head-on-no need for fan wars on her behalf.
Elisa never expected Sarah to be this bold.
Before long, marketing accounts and blogs were all buzzing about Sarah’s “authentic personality” while calling out Elisa’s passive-aggressive antics.
Some of Elisa’s fans were embarrassed by the whole situation and unfollowed her, but a good chunk stuck around, defending her as usual.
