“Ansell” I called out while turning around but there was no response.
How could he disappear in a blink of an eye?
Was it just a dream?
No!
The familiar sensation on my forehead, at the place where he kissed me, was still there . I am sure he was here.
“Ansell!” I called out again.
When no response came and I was sure that he was not in the room, I ran to the window and blocked down to find a man walking towards the exit with his head hanging low.
It was Ansell!
“ANSELL!” I called out with Al the energy inside me.
He turned around. His eyes were brimming with tears, and his lips curled into a small smile. He waved his hand to me and walked away.
“Ansell!” I again called out my hand, reaching out for him but he was gone.
I blinked and focused but he has was already out of my sight. I turned around and ran to the door. At the same time, William came inside.
“Nara” his eyebrows drew in confusion as he looked down at me. “What happened?”
“Ansell” I cried.
“What happened?” His eyebrows drew together, his eyes moving down my form in concern.
“Ansell” I cried again, but this time my voice and my body trembled.
“Nara, what happened?”
Grabbing my shoulders, he shook my entire form as if trying to bring me to my senses. But since Ansell has left me, I have lost my senses, my sanity, and my mind.
My eyes started brimming with tears when his words replayed in my head. I need to stop him!
“Ansell”
Throwing my veil away and grabbing the skirt in my hand, I ran out of the room. William called out from behind but now nothing could stop me.
My gown trailed behind me as I ran down the stairs. The family members who gathered to witness our wedding today looked at me incomplete surprise as I came running down.
My head was filled with the thoughts of Ansell and the only person I wanted to see at the moment was just him. I don’t care who was looking at me or what they were staying behind my back.
My life is shattering and I need to pick up the pieces to rebuild it.
Spending up, I came of the hotel. Stones prickled my bare feet but I care less. My heart was drumming in my throat. I don’t want Ansell to do something wrong with himself.
I heard Marvin and William following me, they were calling me continuously and asking me to stop, but that didn’t halt my steps. I was running madly in my wedding gown.
I know where he must be going. Our favourite spot where we have spent a few good, rare moments together. I am sure he must be going there because it has our memories and it isn’t so far.
Spending up, I found him there, on the top of the small hill, which though a couple points away, could be suicidal.
And as expected, he was standing on its edge, looking down at the depth. He was lost in his own thoughts, but his body language was dejected and ready to end his life.
My heart throbbed in my throat as he took a small step forward. One more step and he would go down, tumbling.
Unable to stop myself, I ran to him, each step felt like eternity and I hugged him from behind.
He stumbled, as he was not ready for the attack from behind. I pulled him back and he composed himself on time.
“Nara” he said softly.
He didn’t need to look around to confirm that it was me. His hands rested over my palms, which were resting on his chest. I pressed my cheek against his back and clutched his hand tightly, as if my life defended on it.
“Ansell” I cried, my voice cracking with the weight of emotions.
He gently tried to move my hands away from his chest, but the fear of losing him again gripped me. The wounds of the past six years were not only etched on his soul but had left scars on mine too. I missed him badly, yet the painful memories kept haunting me.
O just can’t let him go. I just can’t!
“Nara” he said softly and I held his shirt tightly, crying my heart out. Everything that was bottled up inside me for so long was now coming out of my eyes in the form of tears.
He slowly removed my hand when my hold loosened a bit. Turning around , he looked down at me.
We gazed at each other, our eyes glistening with tears. No words were needed to be spoken, as your eyes were saying everything.
I hugged him tightly, unable to contain my emotions. The dam that had been holding back my emotions burst, and I cried my heart out, releasing the pain, resentment, and longing that had built up over the years. The embrace felt like a reunion of souls who had been yearning for each other throughout the ages.
He caressed my back, soothing me as if I were a baby. He placed his face above my head, embracing me in his arms just the way I wanted.
“When you can’t live without me, then how did you think that I could live without you, Ansell?”
I cried, my chest vibrating against this, his whole body was trembling with emotions.
“Why do you become so selfish every time?” I cried.
“I am sorry, Nara. I am really sorry for everything. I can’t bear the pain anymore. I am defeated ” he said, his voice trembling.
I pulled back and looked into his eyes.
“I can’t fight the battle of life alone anymore” he sniffed.
“I am alive, Ansell. You are not alone ” I said, gulping down my emotions.
“I am really very guilty of what I did with you in the past. I have longed for you every moment. I will never repeat in the future, no matter what but please, Nara, don’t leave me again. You are my life, I can’t live without you ”
The tears that were welling up in his eyes dropped down and drenched his cheeks.
“I am still possessive and obsessive over you but I will never hurt you again. Please Nara, forgive me” his lips trembled.
My one hand moved up to wipe away his tears.
“I am with you, Ansell. The day I leave you wil be my last day of life”
We hugged each other once again and this time it was so tight that not even the air could pass in between us. I closed my eyes, cutting off the surroundings in the arms of my Ansell, who is my entire world.
The separation and everything that has happened in the past few months have made me realise that I could never live without Ansell.
Everyone commits is blunders in the past but if we do not give them a chance to revive, then they could never become a good person.
I should give Ansell one chance when he really wants to change.
Our moment broke when I heard a commotion. I pulled back slightly and found William and Marvin standing in front of us. They were far too close to read their faces.
In all this , I completely forgot about Marvin. In mending my heart, I have broken his and I am not even sure how I am going to face him now.
