CHAPTER ONE-HUNDRED AND EIGHTY
CATHERINE’S POV
I couldn’t say a word when I found Burke on his knees, I sure wasn’t expecting to apologize this way but I am glad he did.
“Hayley should never have been here babe, it has always been you I have loved you from the very start, I love you, I love the kids you bore for me, I don’t know where to start from, I want you to know that I didn’t sleep with Hayley, I never have and I never will it was a setup, gosh I am a fuckup why did I ever believe that I slept with her in the first place,”, he said.
” Babe, it’s fine”, I said.
” Wait, wait wait, I still have a lot to say, I am sorry I never believed you that you didn’t poison my food at that moment. I was struggling with my memory and it was a difficult phase for me but that was not an excuse at all”.
” All I ever want to do is love you, care for you, make you smile, make the kids smile, please Catherine Burke would you do me the honor of forgiving this man and taking him in as your lovely wedded husband”, he said with tears in his eyes.
“Baby, I am so touched by what you have just said, I forgive you, the kids would be happy to see that we have finally reconciled, don’t worry the moon goddess is going to deal with Hayley”, I said.
I helped him get up on his feet and gave him a tight hug. I kissed him because I have been longing to do that but since this crisis started it has been one problem to another.
“Babe, I have a confession to make also, ” I said.
” Well you can say whatever you want to say”, he said smiling.
” Okay, I want to let you know that I was never in love with Jaxon I only saw him as a father figure, well for the period where you were absent in our lives but I want to let you know that my heart has always and will always be for you, I lied earlier that I was in love with Jaxon because I thought that you had feelings for Hayley and you were fighting side by side to get rid of me”, I said.
“Oooh my Goodness I can never be in love with such a callous person, it has always been you, even when I was with Sereca, it was because my father said so, I never mentioned it but I have loved you from when we were kids”, he said.
His words immediately gave me peace in my heart, I knew I had found the perfect one and I am glad I did.
” Well what do you say, we should inform the kids about this you know, especially Nikky, Hayley almost messed up your daughter’s mentality but you know your girl is a smart little witch and she saved me from Hayley on various occasions”, I held onto his hand and felt the softness of his palm, finally everything was going back to how it is supposed to be.
“Yeah sure, I’ll send word to the maids to bring them downstairs, including Diago you know”, he replied.
“Of course, let me change, I’ll meet you guys downstairs”, I replied.
When I was done freshening up I went down and they were all there waiting for me, the elephant in the room.
“Mum you kept us waiting, you took so much time up there you know”, Nikky complained.
” I had a lot to do Nikky and besides you are always complaining, anyways let’s ignore Nikky, Daddy and I have a confession to make”, I said smiling sheepishly.
” Okay, thank you for giving me the floor honey, as you well know there has been a lot of crisis in this family and I am the root of it all, but I am here to tell you that these crises have been put to rest and I’ll have you all know that my wife and I are in good terms now”, he said.
” Wait, what, mum we are not going to Chicago again really? Dikky asked.
“Yes baby, your dad and I are on good terms now and I can’t just leave him, he is my husband”, I replied.
“Yes kids, this Mansion is home, if it is Chicago and Crescent Pack, none of my family is going anywhere except we all go for a vacation together”, he chuckled.
The kids didn’t take his joke lightly. I guess he owed them an apology also “Babe you have to apologize to them”, I whispered in his ears.
“Okay guys I am so sorry for the way I treated you guys, you all are my kids and you don’t deserve it. I promise you that it will never happen again”, he said.
” Promise? “, Nikky asked.
” I promise, and I want to sincerely thank you all for keeping this family together even when I wasn’t in the picture, Nikky Dikky and Rikky, you guys are the best thank you for taking care of your mother my wife all this while, and to the elephant in the room my man Diago, thank you for all you do, I owe you, my life man, you are a true friend indeed and I love you all”, he said.
” Thank you, my Lord, anything for you”, Diago smiled.
“Well, that’s a perfected curated speech, group hug anyone?”, I asked.
The kids jacked up on us and gave us a warm hug. I hugged them in return because why not I thanked Diago and in no time we were all in our rooms.
“That was tougher than I bargained for,” Burke sighed.
“Well you know, kids will always be kids”, I said.
“true, what are you doing over there babe come sit on my lap”, Burke smiled.
I knew that smile, he was definitely up to something naughty.
“Babe, what are you up to?”I asked, sitting on his lap.
“Well what can I say, it’s high time we made more kids, maybe quadruplets”, he said jacking me onto the bed.
We kissed and made love, it was fire and not the regular kind of lovemaking we have been doing for years. I’m super glad that everything is settled.
