CHAPTER ONE-HUNDRED AND SIXTY-ONE
HARLEY’S POV
After hearing the good news, it felt like the earth was working in my favor, like how, how did I miss it, I needed a plan urgently, I knew I wouldn’t be able to pull this off alone and Natasha was a no go area, I need a really strong ally, someone that won’t think twice before hurting Catherine and bastard children, and then at that moment, the right idea struck me Sereca, Sereca is the right person for this job, after all she has been married to Burke and had an entanglement of such with Jaxon.
After Natasha’s place, I headed out to Chicago to find Serena, and all thanks to the moon goddess I found her way quicker than I expected.
“Here, come in, this is my place”, she said as she led me into her home.
“Thank you”, my eyes searched everywhere, meeting every corner of the room like I was looking for something I didn’t keep.
“You know, I found my way to Chicago after I was banished from the park, I’ve pulled a few strings here and there, and after a failed love life I have decided to live a quiet life”, she said.
“Hmmm, I totally understand”, that was a lie actually I do not understand anything about her and I sure do not intend to understand.
“So what brings you to my home, because it’s a surprise seeing one of the women who took my husband away from me sitting in my living room”, she said.
“Well, I’m not the enemy here, however, I have a very sweet and juicy offer for you, that’s if you want it”. I said turning my face away from her so she wouldn’t notice me blushing for pulling out such a genius line.
“Sure, I want to hear every bit of it”, she said looking anxious.
“Well, I know a way you can get back at Jaxon, your ex,” I said.
I knew very much how well she hated Jaxon because he used and dumped her. I also knew she would eat every piece of my offer, everyone knows that Jaxon needs a taste of his own medicine.
“Hmmm, sounds interesting, please can you share more insight on this plan of yours?”, she asked.
“Well, it’s quite simple, you would go to Jaxon’s place unarmed act like you are on good terms with him and when he is somewhat unaware and that you have forgiven him for what happened between us, there is a story building close to his house I’d be watching from a distance, there would be a hitman there and when he is least away, you’d give us a sign and we would take him down”, I replied with a smirk.
“That’s a brilliant idea, but why are you so involved in Jaxon’s betrayal to me or are there other reasons for your actions?”, she asked.
I sure wasn’t expecting the question the same way I wasn’t expecting the frown that enveloped my face when I heard the question, like she should focus on the issue here, the bone of contention is getting back at Jaxon not why I want to because it’s none of her business in the first place.
“I’m doing it for Catherine, I know you and Catherine are not on good terms but she doesn’t know I am here, I am doing it to get back him for how he hurt my sister she hasn’t been able to move past the hurt Jaxon caused her and that is what is affecting her marriage, because of the little attention she pays to burke he came on to me when I was drunk and I didn’t know when he had his way and got me pregnant but you know he is the Alpha and he can do no wrong so we have to cover up his lapses, Catherine, on the other hand, is very angry with me and I want to do this so she can know that I am on her side”, I lied.
” Wow, more interesting stories from the pack, I sure must have missed this drama, well good for you and he, your sister, so do you have the reach because I am ready to go”, she said.
“Calm down, I’ll be here first thing tomorrow so we can get this job done, thank you for agreeing to do this with me however I do not want you mentioning it to anyone else it should be one of our little secret Sereca”, I said firmly.
” Sure you can count on me, I’m not one to go about spilling secrets and besides it would cost me my life because I’m in this as well”, she said.
“Yeah, I’m happy we can come to an understanding, I’ll see you first thing tomorrow morning please be ready before I get here let’s get rid of this bastard”, I said.
I headed back to the park even though it was late. I was very excited to drive in the dark but more excited about my adventure tomorrow. I smiled back to the mansion and greeted everyone that came my way. The maids were surprised by my actions. I didn’t care anyway.
I woke up really early due to the excitement of having to get Jaxon out of the way, all I dreamt of was the look on his face when the bullet finally hit him. I also fantasized about it. I wish I would be there to see the look but that would eventually blow my cover…
I got dressed and headed out, once I got to Serena’s place she was ready.
“Where is the hitman”,? She asked.
“He is in the car, are you ready?”.
“Yeah, we should head out now”,
We drove down to Jaxon’s place, everybody was stationed in their respective places, and the hitman was on the rooftop, I was very close to Jaxon’s door but not too close so he wouldn’t see me. Sereca knocked on the door and there was no reply, she however opened the door.
“Ahhhhhhhhhh”,
That was the only thing I heard after that
