CHAPTER ONE-HUNDRED AND THIRTY-EIGHT
HARLEY’S POV
It has been two weeks since Catherine and Burke’s wedding and I am not yet over it. All I ever wanted was to be Luna and when I am on the brink of having what I wanted, Catherine shows up with her superhero daughter.
The pack is healed and everyone thinks I am the villain, fuck them all.
“I need to talk to Burke about my antenatal,” I said to myself, rubbing my perfectly round stomach, as I faced the mirror.
My stomach hadn’t protruded yet, but I bet I could feel the baby moving inside me. I don’t know why I felt that way.
“This boy will take down Ricky and Dikky and he will be the next Alpha of this pack, I swear on my late mother’s grave,” I swore to myself, looking at the baby bump that was yet to form.
I left my room and headed straight to Burke’s room. Catherine stayed with him in the room, making me hate going to see Burke but I have no choice at the moment. If I didn’t see a doctor, my little wolf wouldn’t be healthy.
When I got to his door, I was about to knock when I overheard Catherine and Burke in a discussion. I am not one that eavesdrops on other people’s conversation, luckily Catherine and Burke aren’t other people, so I simply placed my ears on the door, to listen to their conversation.
“Guess what?” Catherine asked Burke and the next thing I heard was the sound of them kissing intensely and Catherine moaning his name. My anger and I just wanted to disrupt their moment.
I raised my hand to knock at the door when Catherine’s next sentence took me off guard.
“I am pregnant,” she said, almost in a moan.
The sound of them kissing stopped, although I was certain that I didn’t hear correctly.
“What the fuck did you just say?” Burke asked, sounding excited, and my legs began to weaken, heating how happy he sounded, but when I yelled about me being pregnant weeks ago, it felt like I had laid a cause on him.
“I said, I am carrying your baby,” she repeated herself, chuckling, and Burke resumed kissing her again.
“Stop it, don’t hurt the baby,” Catherine giggled.
“I am sorry, I just can’t believe I am going to be a father to four children, that is fucking amazing,” he yelled, and the uneasiness at the tip of my stomach grew, he added his triplets and Catherine’s unborn child as his children without adding mine.
The pain I felt was too much but I had to swallow the tears at the peak of my eyes.
“You will be a father to five children,” Catherine corrected, acting like a saint and it disgusted me.
“Yeah, I almost forgot she was crying my child as well,” he said, sarcastically and I heard a smack on the shoulder, Catherine smacked him for addressing me like that.
“Don’t treat her like that, she is still carrying your child,” She yelled, trying to act all nice, but I didn’t buy the niceness she was trying to portray.
“Okay, I will take care of her child but today is all about you,” Burke said, and heard them cuddling again, I couldn’t listen any further, so I ran as fast as my legs could carry.
I ran to the garden and fell to the ground crying, I am
Surely going to make Catherine pay for making me feel this horrible.
“Is everything all right?” I heard a familiar voice say and I raised my head, only to see El’s huge figure smiling down at me.
“Not really, and all of this is because you brought her back to life,” I groaned at her and she sat on the floor beside me, ignoring my rude behavior.
“I am supposed to be angry because of how you mistreated me, and you even tried to kill me, you almost succeeded,” she said and my heart broke, she thinks I am the person that stabbed her twenty-four freaking times but I’m not.
“I know you don’t care about what happened, but for what it’s worth, I wasn’t in support of Ava killing you when I found out that you were my grandmother,” I tried to assure her, and she nodded her head in response.
“I know you did nothing of that manner baby,” she assured me and I felt like a saint again, no one would ever believe me if I told them that I didn’t do it, and she believed me hands down.
“How do you know that?” I asked, feeling overwhelmed.
“I know because there is still good left in your, Harley, I
Can feel it and I know it,” she said, and I shook my head in response before bursting into a round of laughter.
There is no fucking good in me, and I know it without anyone telling me, I have been broken from birth and I have accepted my fate. Her emotional blackmail isn’t going to work.
“Did Catherine send you here to sway me from doing something drastic,” I scoffed and she shook her head.
“Catherine doesn’t know I am here, talking with you, Catherine wants her sister that she was forced not to have, can’t you see that? El ended her sentence with a question, making me confirm that this was an emotional blackmail and it wouldn’t work with me.
“I don’t care what Catherine thinks, she hit me below the belt and I’ll do the same,” I snarled at El, she looked exhausted from trying to sway me, I wanted to tell her no matter what she said, that I will surely get back at Catherine, even if it would cost my life.
“Who started hitting below the belt? It was you, Harley, she gave you a taste of your medicine and you can’t even move past it,” El scolded, I knew she was trying to bring her granddaughters together, but it would have worked a few years from now when I needed companionship, but right now I don’t.
“I can see you are in support of Catherine and not me, it was very nice speaking with you and I think this is where we would say goodbye,” I said, standing up on my feet.
“You can’t leave, I am still talking and as my granddaughter, you would listen to me,” El sneered at me, and the fact that she was trying to scold me was
Funny, she didn’t even live with me, why would she attempt to scold me?
“If that is how you make Catherine succumb to whatever you want, you can’t do that with me, so don’t ever try to scold me again, or else we will be talking of another story,” I threatened before Leaving El alone in the garden.
I could hear her yells as I went, but I couldn’t figure out what she was saying. She is just an old lady throwing tantrums because she didn’t get what she wanted from me.
I headed to the dungeon immediately, I just wanted to rub it on Ava’s face that I won.
When I got to the dungeon, I was taken to Ava’s cell.
“This little house suits you a lot,” I snarled at her and she lifted her head immediately and her eyes shot red when she saw me.
“Are you here to tell me you won, because I don’t think it is over yet,” she said, not moving from where she sat. She felt I was a waste of time.
“I know it isn’t over, but I have successfully passed the first test, and guess what?” I asked, rubbing my stomach and Ava scoffed disgustedly at the sight of that.
“You and I know that the bastard in your stomach does not belong to my brother,” she sneered at me and fear clouded my vision.
“What… are you talking about,” I yelled, sounding ignorant.
“She isn’t denying it,” Ava pointed out, but I kept a straight face and asked again.
“What are you talking about, Ava?”
“My brother still had the mate bond with Catherine, meaning his dick would have been ready to give fucks even if you drugged him,” she explained and I swallowed hard.
“You are saying thrash, this baby is a fucking Michealson,” I yelled and burst into a round of laughter.
“No it’s not, your defensive nature tells me what I need to know, but just one more thing tho,” She said, using her tongue to make disgusting sounds with her teeth.
“What is that?” I asked, confused.
“This is just between me and you, Harley. Who is the real father of your child?” she asked mockingly and I gave her a deadly stare.
“Don’t tell me he is a bastard, friend,” she continued mocking me.
“This baby is a Michealson, and that is all I know,” I said and turned around to leave the dungeon.
“But wait, though,” she said and I turned around, rolling my eyes at her.
“What?” I yelled, angrily.
“He will find out the baby isn’t his, and your fate will be worse than mine, this isn’t a threat but a warning,” she said, making me gulp hard, and sending shivers down my spine.
