CHAPTER ONE-HUNDRED AND TWENTY-ONE
AVA’S POV
I quickly pushed Daigo off the way, so that Harley’s bullet could hit the wall.
“You can’t kill him, Harley; you would implicate yourself,” I yelled, and she directed the gun at me.
“Oh, I guess I should kill you instead because you are a fool,” She scoffed, as her breathing became rough.
“What is this all about Harley?” I asked, trying to be cool, even if she was pointing a loaded gun at my head and could pull the trigger anytime.
“That motherflecker is working for someone else not for us,” She replied to my question, and her anger grew at every second.
“That was what I was trying to rectify before you bounced into my room with a. Fucking loaded gun,” I yelled, moving from a spot; I was afraid Harley would pull the trigger, and all I have worked for would be for waste.
“How did you know that?” Diago asked as he began to shiver at the corner of the door; Diago never acted like a pussy, he fights wars, but this was different; Harley had the upper hand here and could pull the trigger at him anytime.
“I have you followed, and the guard I sent said you were having a little chat with her before letting her drive away,” She yelled, as she spat on Diago’s face.
Diago looked disgusted as he wiped the spit off his face. I was sure he wished he could kill us at that moment, but he had run out of luck.
“Then why the fuck do you want to kill me? Because I stopped you from making a rash decision to kill Diago?” I asked, after a few minutes of silence.
“No, it’s because you trusted a spy with all our secrets, and now we are screwed because of you,” She yelled, still pointing the gun at me. I knew she wasn’t going to pull the trigger at me although I wasn’t sure about that.
“He was better for the job, Harley,” I said coolly, not because I understood her point of view; I was just scared of my life at the moment.
“I told you I wanted the job, but you gave your fuck boy, and now he has screwed the both of us,” She yelled; Harley was out of control, and I didn’t even know what to do to put her back on track.
“When you tried to get her, you failed, untried as well and I failed too, that was the fucking reason I felt Diago, was better off with the job, I didn’t know he is a spy and I don’t even know who he is working for,” I explained, and Harley pointed the gun back to Daigo, making me heave a sigh of relief.
“Who do you work for?” She asked, and he looked speechless. He opened his mouth to speak but he was too much of a pussy and shut his mouth close again.
“I know he isn’t working for Nikky, but he is too loyal to the person, making me think he is working for Emma,” I concluded; because Emma’s men are fucking loyal, no matter how you threaten to kill them, they won’t give turn on her.
“And he isn’t even giving him any evidence of doubt,” Harley chimed in, as Diago didn’t say anything further.
“Speak or I’ll blow your head off,” Harley threatened, as she was ready to pull the trigger.
“I’m not working for Emma,” He confessed, almost in a whisper.
“How the fuck should we believe you, when you just messed with us,” I yelled, and he just shook his head in response.
“Emma has Wolf’s syndrome, if I was to work for her or with her, I won’t be able to do anything at the moment, because she is at the quarantine house getting aggressive every damn day, and don’t forget Emma’s men only act when giving instructions,” He explained, I hate to admit it but he is right.
“Then tell us who you work for,” Harley demanded.
“I can’t turn on the person I work for, just kill me,” Diago said, with his hands up as he surrendered.
Diago isn’t going to tell us the information he wants, and Harley killing the second in command inside Burke’s Mansion is a cause for alarm. Aside from that, Burke wouldn’t want to marry her because she had committed another felony; I can’t let that happen.
“You need to calm down, Harley,” I said, and she looked at me angrily.
I needed her distracted, and her looking at me, made her unconscious with the gun in her hand. I knocked the gun out of her hand and held onto it.
“Don’t tell me that you are protecting your fuck boy,” Harley retorted, noticing I tried to play smart on her.
“I’m sorry I did that, but you can’t kill him, especially when we are at the mansion, and you are going to be Luna in a few days,” I reminded her, and she rolled her eyes at me, realizing I was correct.
“Hope you have a better plan because he can’t go free; he would expose us to Burke,” Harley lamented, and I scoffed at her.
“That’s not going to happen, Harley; we have gone too far to be afraid of that,” I said, going to the door to exit the room.
“Do you have an idea?”. She asked, taking the gun away from me.
“Yes, I do; just make sure Diago doesn’t leave here, and he is wearing only underwear,” I said, leaving the room, and Harley nodded at me.
I headed straight to Burke’s room, and when I got there, I ripped my dress, making it look like I was harassed.
I pushed his door open without knocking and he was on his bed, looking tired as always.
“Ava, can you just leave alone,” He grumbled, without looking at me; he knew I was the one in his room because I was the only person who could push his door open without knocking and not get scared about being scolded.
“Burke…” I lamented as I broke down in a sob, hitting myself on the ground and crying profusely.
“What is the problem?” He asked, getting off the bed and walking towards me, only to see my ripped dress.
“Who the fuck did this to you,” he thundered, with anger in his voice, that was the exact response I was expecting.
I kept him quiet and he yelled again;
“Who did this to you, Ava,” his voice was more cold and had the authority I needed at the moment.
“It’s Diago, he tried to rape me,” I said, shedding more tears.
