CHAPTER FIFTY-FIVE
HARLEY’S POV
“Don’t do that to my sister,” Mike said, as he removed Catherine’s hands from my nose mask before she removed it. I didn’t know where Mike came from, but I appreciated his presence. It was most needed.
“This is my hospital, and you need to abide by my rules; I need to see the face of this person, now”, Catherine said, about in a yell; it was obvious she was panicking, and the fear of her child had risen.
“My sister has a skin reaction and she doesn’t like opening her face in public, I hope your hospital understands patient’s privacy,” Mike said rudely, and I was overwhelmed over how he defended me, I would have talked but Catherine knew my voice, she is too smart and she would guess who I was.
“That’s why I am Doctor Catherine Tyler; I’ll be able to cure her skin reaction,” Catherine offered, smiling; then I realized it was stupid for Mike to use a skin reaction as an escape route when we were at a hospital. Now we are back to being fucked.
“No, thank you, Doctor Catherine, I don’t think that will be necessary; my sister is suffering from a different illness that you won’t be able to cure; she even has a brain tumor,” Mike said, and I glared at him.
Why did he have to say that I have a brain tumor and a lot of sicknesses when I was standing there looking healthy? Does he think Catherine is a fool?
“She doesn’t look sick; besides, if she does, I’ll be able to give her the necessary treatment she needs,” Catherine said, smiling; she knew something was off; I hated her because she was too smart.
“I don’t want you to treat my sister, with all due respect, we are not even here to get treatment,” Mike said, he wore a frown thinking it might scare Catherine but it didn’t, we were at her hospital, surrounded by people who worked for her, we can’t scare her here.
“Then why are you here?” Catherine asked, and Mike lost the ability to talk. He was speechless and did not know what to say at that moment.
“We… we… we are here for sightseeing,” He stuttered, thinking we were at Crescent Pack, where people visit for sightseeing.
“The hospital is for treatment, not sightseeing,” The lady beside Catherine said; she was wearing a long white coat and black heels. She smiled exactly how Catherine smiled, making me think smiling that way was how all doctors behaved.
“I know they do that in Crescent Pack. Are you from Crescent Pack,” Catherine asked, as a smile crept to the corners of her lips; Catherine was playing this game way too well.
“No… no what kind of place is that?” Mike said, faking ignorance, but Mike was bad as faking, his countenance spoke otherwise, and I was sure Catherine and her clique noticed.
“Fuck me,” I murmured; I almost forgot Catherine was good at reading body language.
“I suggest we take your sister for some medical check-up if you aren’t here for something else,” The lady beside Catherine said, smiling, although I knew it wasn’t a friendly smile.
“If you insist,” Mike said, and I was shocked at his response; I almost peed on myself.
“Then we can remove her nose mask and shades,” Catherine said, stretching her hands towards my nose mask; my legs began to shake again; I didn’t want to blow my cover and end up in a police station.
Mike shoved her hand off my nose mask as quickly as possible; Catherine and her clique stared at him with questions in their eyes.
“Not here, surrounded by people. She is too shy to show her skin reaction in public,” He explained, pointing at the people in the receptionist room, who were already staring at us; we were causing a drama, and I hated it.
I don’t hate dramas, I only hate it when I’m not in charge.
“Then we will head towards my office,” Catherine said, and Mike nodded in response.
I peeped outside the transparent door to see if Burke and Catherine’s daughter were still there, but I couldn’t find them.
“Did Burke know that it was Catherine’s daughter?” I asked myself because the girl took everything about Catherine, from her hair to her feet; she even walked like Catherine.
Mike and I were walking with Catherine’s term when an emergency alarm was turned on, and everyone in the hospital started running to take shields, it was a fire alarm.
It created an escape room for Mike and me, and we ran along with everyone, mixing with the crowd.
“Turn off that fucking alarm; there is no fire anywhere,” Catherine yelled, and the alarm was turned off; truly, there wasn’t fire anywhere.
“I think Jaxon did that,” I said to Mike as we hid behind a chair; it covered us completely, and Catherine could hardly see us.
“Why would you think it’s Jaxon huh?” Mike asked as if he knew who Jaxon was.
“I saw him earlier; I knew he was up to no good; he might have been caught and switched on the fire alarm as a distraction,” I explained to him.
“That’s good for us; if not, we would have been caught and rotting in Chicago’s jail by now with no one to bail us,” He said, looking at me accusingly like it was my fault we were almost caught.
But if we were jailed, Ava would surely come back to bail me; she needs me to kill Burke so she can be Alpha, and I’ll be Luna.
“The lady and the guy are missing; they are the ones that kidnapped my kids,” Catherine yelled when everyone was settled and everywhere was calm.
I could even feel her anger increasing but Mike and I were already on our way out of her hospital.
“We will go through that window,” He said, and I nodded I’m response. I was good at jumping over windows, which was Lucky for me.
“We have found the child,” A young man said, lifting Catherine’s daughter.
I tried to peep at the girl, and her eyes caught mine instantly.
“That’s the lady that tried to kidnap me,” She yelled, pointing in my direction.
“You’re fucked,” Mike yelled, jumping over the window.
