Chapter 64

Book:The Alpha King's Hybrid Mate Published:2025-2-8

“Didn’t you…just say you rejected your mate?” Frederick stuttered in shock and sprang up from his seat, twitching his eyelids in confusion.
“Calm down, man. You don’t understand.” Zayne sighed. He raised his hand at Frederick and tried to get some words out of his mouth, which seemed stuck deep down his throat.
He grabbed the bottle of wine and took a quick shot.
“This is what happened basically…. she was mated to me, but I rejected her; now the moon goddess wants me to have her back, or else…” he paused, his lips quivering, while he blinked frantically.
“Or else what?” Frederick asked him, furrowing his brows as he tried to make sense of Zayne’s explanation.
“Or else every single soul in the blue moon pack would die!” Zaybe mumbled, throwing his hands into the air. Frederick staggered, he opened his mouth but was closed back by the intensity of shock that channeled through his nerves.
“What?” That was the only word that could escape his throat. He wore a more confused look, he had never expected that things could be more serious.
“Yeah! So I need your help right now, okay?” Zayne said to him, while Frederick furrowed his brows.
“My help? In what way?” Frederick stared at him from a distance and folded his arms as he wondered where he was driving.
“At least…sit down first.” Frederick nodded and took his seat right in front of Zayne, staring straight into his eyes.
“We have to find a way to abduct the girl; she has to come back to my side,” Zayne mumbled; his heart raced as he hoped Frederick would agree with him. He had been looking for Sara for a long period, and now that he had the opportunity, he was sure not to let go.
“What?” Frederick gasped in shock.
“Isn’t this fated? I mean…I just came to the human world to catch up with you, but somehow fate had it, and I stumbled upon my Ex-Mate. Reason it out, man.” Zayne explained to him, rubbing his hands as if begging Frederick to come to terms with him.
Frederick took in a deep breath, sighed then lowered his head for a minute. He raised his head and cleared his throat.
“Actually, she might not even remember you,” Frederick said with a low tone, causing Zayne’s heart to almost skip a beat.
“Excuse me?” Screamed Zayne in shock.
“She has amnesia and can’t seem to remember some things. But I can’t say if she can remember you. Moreover, she is pregnant…” Frederick paused to register Zayne’s shocking expression.
“… and since you rejected her, the baby can’t possibly be yours,” Frederick said to him.
Zayne rested his head in between his arms. He gritted his teeth, and hot, boiling blood flushed through his veins.
‘I have to do something; my whole clan cannot just go down the ruins.’ he thought to himself. He fell into a pool of thoughts, racking his brain hard to get a solution. Suddenly, he raised his head, his lips plastered with a smile, slightly taking Frederick aback.
“What’s wrong?” Frederick asked him, a little bit surprised by his actions.
“We have to play along, Frederick. Since she doesn’t remember anything, then we can lie that she is my wife. I know some things about her, and it’s enough to prove that we used to know each other. Plus the pregnancy, I guess I will have to play the father’s part.” Zayne said with excitement rushing down his bones, smiling widely at the beautiful idea that had crossed his mind.
“No…no. I can’t…” Frederick mumbled, he wanted to stand up but Zayne hurriedly held him back.
“Then do you want the whole red moon pack to perish? Your father is there remember, your mother, every one of your family members are there.” Zayne screamed at him, causing Frederick’s world to crash for a moment.
‘he was right, my loved ones are all there, and I can’t watch them perish.” He thought within himself.
“Alright. I will help you.” Frederick gave in to Zayne’s idea, while Zayne instantly gave him a light blow on his chest.
“Thank you, man,” Zayne muttered happily. He was about to pour some wine into their cups when he heard a voice;
“Miss Marie. The boss wants to see you.” A voice said outside the door. Zayne and Frederick stared at each other, Zayne hurriedly stood up and threw the door open.
Marie stood electrified to the ground, while Zayne rolled his eyes all over her.
“Why are you here? And for how long have you been here?” Zayne asked her, fuming in anger as he realized that she might have overheard all of their discussions.
“Can we…talk inside?” Marie pleaded with him, and Zayne agreed after some consideration.
Immediately she entered, she grabbed the bottle of wine, flipped it upside down, and tore a paper that she had plastered on the bottle earlier on.
Zayne and Frederick looked at each other in shock. They had been drinking for a while now, and they never noticed the paper beneath it.
Marie turned the paper to them and scribbled on it, “Save me.”
“I don’t understand…save you for what? Besides, you haven’t answered my question. How long have you been here?” Zayne screamed at her.
“Well, long enough to know that you guys aren’t humans,” Marie said, shrugging her shoulders as she quietly sat down on the sofa. She poured herself some wine which she gulped down. Zayne began to fume with anger. Frederick gave him a sign, telling him to calm down.
“But it’s fine with me…I mean, your secrets are totally safe with me, as long as you save me, as long as you help me out of this hellish place.” Marie uttered, her eyes became bloodshot red, slowly getting clouded with tears.
“I was sold here by my father as a child, and since then. Based on their agreement, I should be free by now, but the owner of this place wouldn’t grant me my freedom. I do all of these against my will; now she wants to rent me out to some drug lords; I guess that’s why the girl came to call me earlier on.” Marie explained her situation, with tears flowing down her cheeks.
Zayne stared at Frederick, then rested his gaze on Marie.
“Alright. If you want me to help you, what will you do for me in return?” Zayne asked her, waiting solemnly for her reply.
“I won’t tell your secret to anyone, and I will be at your disposal in the future. I just want to leave this place.” Marie cried.
“Didn’t you try contacting the cops? I mean, you could sue her, win the case, and probably make a fortune out of it.” Frederick shrugged, relaying his thoughts on the matter.
“I tried, I did all I could, but…she is just too powerful and influential. She has tons of men, politicians, and drug lords behind her; that’s why she can effectively run this place without closing down.” She explained to them, while Zayne sighed.
“That makes sense then…” Zayne paused, dipped his hand into his pocket, and moved closer to Marie.
“So what do you want us to do with her?” Zayne asked her, staring straight into her eyes.
Marie’s heart raced, her blood boiled and her eyes sparkled with fury. She clenched her fists and gritted her teeth.
“How about…. we kill her?”
