The metal door made a screeching sound, revealing some streak of light as Leon walked in with a box in his hand.
Sara hissed as soon as she set her eyes on Leon. But still, she couldn’t help the cool breeze that blew inside.
She had been locked up by Leon and she couldn’t recall how many days that had passed. Since she had no access to sunlight, she could only count the seconds slowly, eventually losing count.
“What do you want here?” Sara snapped, her eyes burning with mixture of rage and fury.
Leon smiled and stared at her for some seconds, he then bent by her side, moving his hand on Sara’s face.
Sara felt immediately irritated by his actions, he bit his fingers and spat on his face.
“Don’t you dare touch me!” She snarled, breathing hard, and anxious.
She moved her eyes away from Leon’s gaze who wore a mischievous smirk on his face. He wiped off Sara’s spit, and stared smilingly at the scar from her bite. Blood was gushing out from the wound, but he seemed to derive pleasure from it instead, which made Sara wonder what kind of a person he is.
“Violent? I love it. I love tough women, you are indeed my type.” He smiled, stretching his neck and sniffing at Sara’s face.
“Warm, refreshing and loving!” He commented, his mouth stretching with a smile, but he was met by Sara’s hard push that he staggered a bit backwards.
“Pervert!”
“I don’t care, call me what you want, but one thing is sure…” he paused, his teeth fully visible as he rolled into a roaring laughter.
“… you will eventually be mine, trust me.” He continued.
He zipped open the box and brought out a food box. Sara was surprised at first, he had been giving her food through a minute crack from the wall. Why he suddenly deemed it fit to bring her food was a shocker to her.
“I brought your favorite. Eat, and have energy for tonight, I will make you my woman.” Leon uttered, leaving Sara in a bewildered state.
“What did you just say?” Sara screamed, certain she had not heard him right. She stretched her ears and pointed them closer to Leon.
“You heard me right, no need to pretend.” Leon replied without looking into her eyes. He poured the water from the jug into a cup and stretched it out to her.
“Look Leon, if you truly love me, you will let me go, and won’t trap me in this desolate place. I am a lover of freedom, why won’t you just let me go?” Sara cried, channeling all of her energy into her words, hoping Leon would be reasonable enough and let her go.
“No, I won’t. This time, I won’t lose to Killian. I will show you that I am no way inferior to him, he is a man, so I am. I can do everything he can, including…winning your love.” Leon screamed, panting heavily as the words escaped him.
“I ought to be the Alpha, I was the senior cousin of Killian, I was supposed to be the ruler of this land, but those sinister elders, all of them snitched behind me, and crowned Killian as the Alpha. Tell me, in what way am I worse than him? Am I that insignificant to you all?” His voice echoed through the whole house, sending cold waves down Sara’s spine.
She had expected lots of things, but Killian and Leon were cousins? That was a great shock to her. And what Leon meant by he was the rightful Alpha was a hard nut to crack.
“You’ve suffered, Leon. I understand that they did you wrong, but that doesn’t mean you should go down the wrong path, you will eventually perish with no way back.” She paused, slowly extending her hand till it reached Leon’s hand.
“I am sorry, Leon. But I am innocent, I know nothing about all of these, just let me go, please.” Sara pleaded, but it seemed her words found no home in Leon’s ears, as though they evaporated the moment they slipped out of her mouth.
Leon held Sara’s hand, held it tightly and pressed it against his chest, and Sara gasped in pain.
“You are hurting me, Leon.” Sara said timidly, wrinkling her face together as the pain settled in her brain.
“There is no going back, Sara. I cannot be saved. The moment I decided to take back what belonged to mine, I was doomed to receive whatever the outcome of my decision was.” Leon uttered, losing his grip on Sara’s hand who hurriedly slid her hands off him.
“Leon, believe me, there is. You are destined for greatness, I can see it in you. You will definitely find the man you like and you can even establish your own pack and rule together. Come back to your senses, Leon.” Sara pleaded, and for the first time in forever, Leon seemed to agree with what she said.
“You are right. And I have found her, I have found the person I truly love. If she can give me her heart, I can also give up my quest for revenge. And the lady is right here in front of me, staring at me. It’s you, Sara.” He replied.
Sara almost regretted saying those words. Surely, Leon wouldn’t miss flirting with her at every opportunity he gets.
“I am sorry, I love Killian, and my heart will only belong to him only.” Sara muttered, withdrawing his gaze from him.
Leon sighed, and slowly rose to his feet.
He made for the door, and suddenly stopped.
“I will be back tonight, to claim you.”
