NERTHUS
“Be mine. Move in with me. Permanently.”
My heart skips a beat. “You mean sell my apartment?”
He shakes his head with one of his awesome smiles. “You can still keep your apartment. I’m asking you to move in with me to make things a bit more official.”
I gulp as his eyes bore into mine.
Oh, my.
“You know, like an actual couple does from time to time.” He chuckles, making me squint my eyes at him.
“Does that mean you will stop acting this bossy towards me?” I ask, wanting to act coldly but he sees right through my act.
His smile stretches into a sly grin as he tilts his head at me. “I don’t think so because I know how much you like it. If I were to tell you to climb on my desk, because I want to fuck you on it… You would still comply, right?”
My breath hitches in my throat as my most intimate part throbs expectantly. “Absolutely.”
***
I surely had sex on all types of surfaces.
And tables and desks are always popular, even if few can actually perform adequately on them.
But the way Arawn took me on his massive desk, catapulted me in an entirely different stratosphere.
It made up for the cold table in his meeting room, and I wanted him to go on forever, even if it meant that I would lose every ability to move properly ever again.
The image of me being sprawled over his desk passes my mind, making me lower my head to hide my growing smile. My legs are pressing into his sides as he holds my calves, and I clasp the edge of the desk as if my life depended on it while he slams into me, taking my breath away.
“Are you happy?” Arawn asks, making me look up at him.
I nod, Danny chatting happily as if he were to be our background noise as Arawn’s lips stretch into a big grin. “Are you?”
“Yes,” he whispers before he straightens his spine back up to continue eating.
Danny as usual is too happy to read the room as he goes on talking but suddenly, he halts, his next words making me look at him wide-eyed. “You know. I had some strange dream while I was in the hospital. I don’t remember much of it… Just a name. Nerthus.”
He moves out of his pensive posture, looking at me with a big smile. “What kind of name is even that?”
I push out a laugh to join him, my words stuck in my throat as I could never explain such a thing, my heart twisting as I remember that I had a dream where he called me by my real name.
“Well, I guess that is my cue,” Arawn says lowly, making us look at him questioningly.
He shifts, taking out a ring box, and while my breath hitches in my throat, and it gets even Danny to grow quiet.
I stare at the ring box before lifting my eyes at him and breaking out into an uncomfortable laugh.
Arawn lifts his brow at me while Danny looks at me shocked.
I continue to laugh hysterically, holding my stomach as they stare at me dumbfounded, waiting for me to calm down.
Wiping my eyes to free them from my happy tears, I push out a long breath to calm myself.
“This isn’t real. Why aren’t you on your knees?” I say, still catching my breath and he grins, shaking his head.
“As if I would ask you to marry me at the breakfast table!”
Danny gasps, looking between the two of us, “What’s wrong with that? Isn’t love all that matters?”
“Awww.” I reach over the table, squeezing his cheeks. “Of course it is, baby. But if a man has so much money as Arawn has, then a woman can expect something more exciting, right?”
“Yeah,” Danny answers, his voice distorted by the sides of his lips pressed together.
I let go with a giggle before I open the small box with a gasp. “Oh, my. This is gorgeous.”
“Glad you like it,” Arawn observes me happily and takes the box out of my hands.
I hold out my hand to him and he slides the ring onto my finger with a smile. The slow movement of the cool metal grazing my skin causes a shiver to roll down my spine.
I didn’t think that getting a piece of jewelry would feel so good.
Gasping, I lift my hand, bathing the green emeralds in the sun’s rays. “Oh, it’s beautiful.”
“They shine nearly as much as your eyes,” Arawn says, making me look at him with a broad smile.
Leaning forward, I kiss him. “Thank you so much.”
“Could you leave us alone for a moment, Danny?” Arawn asks him without taking his eyes off me.
Danny gets up hastily without even groaning, making me feel giddy for a second. As soon as the door closes behind him, Arawn sighs, closing his eyes. “I needed a break.”
“You are kidding me,” I say, laughing, and get him to look at me with an exhausted smile, taking my breath away.
He leans forward, kissing my hand. “I thought about what to do with Goldman, and maybe there is a way to get back at him and take back our territory fully.”
“Our territory,” I chuckle awkwardly, but he doesn’t even twitch with the corner of his mouth as he just goes on.
“Yes. He thought he exiled us but he is wrong. Would you come back with me?” he asks, looking at me with a stern look, making me nod slowly.
“Of course. I’m coming back with you.” Leaning in too, I put my hand on his cheek, kissing his lips gently. “Let us take our territory back and kick the rats out.”
He laughs, putting his hand on mine. “You are perfect.”
Turning his head, he kisses my palm before biting into it, making goosebumps rise on my skin. “I want you to sit on my face tonight.”
I blush and get quite a little panicky. Even if he keeps his voice appealingly low, I’m not quite sure that the waiter standing at the wall behind me can’t hear him.
He grins at me, making me forget about other people even existing. “Stretching your delectable pussy entirely for me. You’ll see I’ll reach spots you never even dreamed of having reached.”
I gulp as I grow insanely wet and lower my voice into a whisper.
“Get them to leave as well, Arawn.”

The next morning, I wake up feeling the happiest.
After I spend another good quarter of an hour admiring the emeralds on my ring, I dress in a light blue summer dress and sprint down to reach his office, entering it with a girly giggle.
He is still concentrating on some documents as I speak.
“Today it will be five words, Arawn.”
He raises his head slowly, lifting a brow at me. “What?”
“If you speak more than five words in a sentence, you will be compensated for it.”
His handsome smile makes my heart bloom as I step up next to him.
“Five words, babe? Do you want to tell me what the reason for such a thing is?”
I laugh before I bend down to give him a kiss and he smiles happily. “That is clearly something I can get used to.”
Leaning down, I kiss him again. “Will you join us at the beach today? I guess that Danny would love to spend a bit of time with you.”
“I think I can arrange that,” he says with an astonishing grin, his head already turned to me, awaiting his kiss.
Kissing him once more, I giggle, “That’s great, thank you.”
“Don’t even mention it, my love,” he chuckles, lowering his gaze back to his paper and I bend down to kiss his cheek before walking out to the dining room.
Even before I reach it I can hear Danny laughing happily and my heart flips in joy as I pick up my pace to reach him.
