EVOLET
Cadell and I left our room to meet up with the others.
Well, we didn’t leave the bedroom on time because someone felt we needed to have our own tour inside that chamber than outside the mansion walls.
It was by the Goddess’s grace I got Cadell to move his ass and set me free as well.
“Only for today. The rest of our break will be on me. Everyone, stay in your room,” he grumbled, walking by my side with big stomps.
I didn’t even bother to say a word. I was just enjoying this grumpy side of my adorable Wolfy.
As we drew closer to the living room, we met Trent talking to an old man right outside our destination.
His appearance alone showed his identity to the Alpha, giving me no reason to wonder much.
“He must be the sorcerer of this pack,” I said to Cadell, pulling nearer.
“At least it’s not a sorceress. That gender can be creepy with magic.” He shivered, acting funny.
When we got to Trent’s point, my happy Kitty Cat immediately introduced me to his sorcerer as the lady he always talked about.
“She’s the same Evolet who found those cubs.” Trent smiled, wrapping his arm around me.
“Really? Oh, it’s indeed an honor to finally meet you,” the sorcerer said, showing his delight.
“Same here. I’m so happy to be in your pack. Can’t wait to meet everyone.”
“You are going to love it here, my child. We Werecats are open to friends of our Alpha,” he shared, directing his eyes at Cadell.
The old man had to look at his Alpha then back at Pervy Wolf, before clearing his throat and saying, “I can tell this fine young man is also a friend of the king. What’s your name, son?”
That word ‘Son’ made Trent and I hold back our laughter, even if it was hard.
The Sorcerer wondered if he had said something funny and smiled at us. But Cadell frowned, giving out a growl.
“Seems they don’t see you as one,” the sorcerer joined in the fun.
Trent had to do the intro before Wolfy attacks him. He placed his arm around pervy wolf and said, “This is my favorite man, Cadell.”
“Cadell?” The old man uttered, looking amazed by that name.
His face was immediately filled with a wide grin, as he spoke to Pervy wolf directly, “I didn’t know Wolf Fall actually allowed that. It’s been long I heard that rare and unique name. Only one person ever bears it, because it describes who he really is.”
“I know that. That’s why it’s my name,” Cadell said, flashing a light smile at the sorcerer.
I noticed how the old man stared at him with a calm yet curious mood. It felt like he could sense something about Cadell but didn’t know how to say it.
“Wait, you didn’t tell him about Wolfy?” I whispered to Trent, who nodded and replied back, “I didn’t mention him to my sorcerer like that. There were a lot of things going on.”
“Oh, Alpha stuffs?”
“Exactly.”
The old man didn’t bother to ask any further. He welcomed Cadell and I one more time, telling us to enjoy our stay.
As Pervy Wolf and I were about heading into the living room… “Catch you later, Cyrus,” Cadell said, referring to the old sorcerer.
And just like that, the old man was filled with shock.
I saw the way he turned over and stared at us with a wide gaze. “Cadell?!” This time, he called Pervy wolf with seriousness, realizing who big man over here really was.
I looked over at Cadell and saw how satisfied he was with the sorcerer’s reaction. It’s as if he was waiting for the right moment to give him a heart attack.
“Don’t kill someone with your name. His heart almost came out from his mouth!” I bumped him on the arm.
That only made him chuckle.
.
Its just like Trent and the sorcerer said. The Werecats of this pack are indeed wonderful to friends of their Alpha.
We went for a tour around the pack with Trent, and we were showered with love by the people.
They made us a part of their world, ignoring the fact that we were different. It made me wonder if this was the kind of love Luna Violet taught them, which they were practicing till date.
Forget the fact that they still have to fight with enemies outside their kind, they still showed that they were good people at heart.
“And Queen Chriselda has never expressed such love before. She mainly blames other creatures for the late Luna’s death. These people are innocent,” I viewed, enjoying the moment.
The mood was increased to a higher level when I noticed two lion cubs staring at me from behind a tree.
They looked intrigued by my presence yet careful.
As the others were moving ahead, planning on where else to visit, I drew nearer to this tree, beckoning the cubs over.
“It’s okay, I won’t hurt you,” I promised, giving them my hands.
They came out from their hiding and moved closer to me, sniffing my fingers. That’s when I saw their eyes flash in delight, as they both said to each other with joy, “She’s the one!”
“Huh?” I was confused.
When they shifted into their human form… I immediately recognized the two girls Cadell and I saved!
“Oh my Goodness!” I exclaimed, amazed to see how beautiful they looked!
They didn’t hesitate to dive into my arms, expressing their happiness in seeing me after so long.
“Evolet!” Derby called out to me, gaining my attention.
I turned over and saw the guys coming back. They were surprised to see the girls in my arms.
Trent chuckled at this and said, “You little cubs. You still remember our friend.”
“I do!”
“I didn’t forget her scent. No, I didn’t!” The girls boldly told Trent, clinging to me.
“We’re now big cats. Our sense of smell is stronger and better,” they bragged, shifting back into their cub to flaunt their maturity to the Alpha.
And when Derby saw this… “Oh my GOD! So cute!!” She shrieked, rushing up to me to grab the girls in her hold.
One thing I love about the Werecats is their ability to shift both day and night. Not every werewolves can do that, since they’re called the children of the night. It’s mostly the special ones that possess that gift.
Special ones like Cadell, and maybe myself as well.
“Can we visit anywhere that has cute children? And maybe get them to shift to into their cats?” Derby asked Trent, playing with the girls.
Before Trent could respond, Mom said, “That’s if you won’t die from cuteness overload.”
“I won’t, I swear!” she promised.
But I know that promise can go south if we are not careful.
Just Trent alone as Kitty can make her explode. Now see how she’s shaking just holding these two cubs. I bet she’ll pas out if we take her to a house filled with them.
Speaking of Derby and Trent… They seem to be getting along well.
She hasn’t acted weird around him after last night. I think they finally made peace.
“Why didn’t I see it earlier when we were walking? Trent was holding Derby’s hand,” I recalled, watching how he smiled at Derby while she begged Mom to trust her.
It felt beautiful to me.
.
That evening, I had to gather everyone around to discuss the main problem on ground.
I know it’s something I’ll have to come back and face once we leave this pack, and I wanted them to hear it.
“While connecting with the Vampire at the forest, I found out how Sorceress Thelma has been tracking me down so fast.”
They all looked at me with concern in their gaze, mostly Mom and Derby, who are new to this.
“There’s a pendant around the Queen’s neck. It contains a piece of my energy which lights up whenever I unleash my wolf.”
“Wait, that pretty necklace I said I liked?” Derby pointed out, remembering the jewel.
I nodded, confirming her answer.
“How did she get a piece? Cadell cleared the forest that night,” Trent also pointed, finding this confusing.
But only Pervy wolf had a hint. “She must have taken it from the Gamma and his men. When I got back to the forest, they were gone. If they were still present, I would have noticed and cleared it from their body.”
“That explains it then.” I sighed.
“What’s the plan then? You know we can’t leave that pendant with that woman. She’ll keep using it to find Evolet when she releases her wolf.”
“I think the only way out is if Evolet…” Mom uttered, looking right at me. “If she joins the Luna hunt and pretends to be interested in the game,” she suggested.
She’s right. The only way into that mansion is by taking part in the game.
But with that pervy Alpha around to trouble me… “And what about Allen? That crazy man won’t allow me to work in peace without following me around. You know how disgusting he gets when he sees me?”
“Don’t sweat it. That’s something Cadell can handle,” Mom replied, smirking back.
“If he gets closer to Eve, you have the permission to eat him.”
“Finally!” Cadell celebrated.
One of the ultimate consent he has been craving for.
“I will not hold back this time around. Alpha or not, he will face me,” He said, kissing his knuckles.
I giggled, pleased with how everything was going.
Derby also agreed to join the hunt, so she can help me in this plan. “You need more heads in this game, sis,” she said, rest her arm on my shoulder.
“Same here, like Derby said. I’ll be coming as well,” Trent supported, showing his readiness
“I wish I could take part in this hunt, but I ain’t the beautiful Agnes of old anymore,” Mom joked, pointing t her face so we’d see the wrinkles.
Then Cadell flirted with her, “You don’t need to join when I’m around. I’ll be your Alpha.”
“Hmm! I will gladly take that offer.” She blew an air kiss, making everyone laugh.
I felt proud of myself for having a whole team by my side, helping me in fighting my battle.
It won’t just be a mission in retrieving that pendant but revealing Chriselda’s true self to the people.
She has gone too far, both she and that old witch.
I will make sure the truth comes out and give every creature the true peace they deserve.
Those two have to go.
“Huh?” I spotted Sorcerer Cyrus at the door from the corner of my eyes, calling me over.
I left the others while they were talking and went out to meet with him.
“Greetings, Sorcerer.”
“Greetings, Child,” he responded happily, glancing into the room then back at me.
“I overheard your plans against Wolf Fall’s Queen and I felt I should be a part of it myself.”
“That will be great. We could really use your help,” I said, seeing his involvement as a good choice.
“Here, take this little gift of mine.” He pulled out a golden bracelet and wrapped it around my wrist, saying, “It will come in handy when the time comes, my dear.”
“Thank you,” I appreciated, admiring the ornament.
“I’m not as powerful as the sorceress nor as you, but it’s the best I can do,” he chuckled softly, revealing his knowledge of my gift.
“It’s all in you. Everything is the same, only that the situation of this life made it different. Still, that didn’t keep the darkness from his light. He always finds her,” he said, placing his hand on my face while looking at Cadell.
I understood what he meant by that, and… it was appealing to the heart.
“I’m just a bearer though.”
“Hmm, I’ve heard you.” He gave me a beam, before leaving.
I glanced at the bracelet in my hold, hoping to make use of this gift the sorcerer had given to me with all of his heart.
