CHAPTER 36

Book:Omega's Wolf Is A Rogue Published:2025-2-8

QUEEN CHRISELDA
Evolet wiped off the potion from her face, looking annoyed.
But how is she standing? The potion is meant to make her fall and vomit the spirit at once! But… she’s still on her two feet!
Have we made a mistake by thinking she’s the spirit wolf?
“I should have seen this coming. A Queen who has never seen me with good eyes from the beginning, suddenly invites me over to the mansion. But I stupidly honored the invite, all in the name of respect,” she said, tightening her fists at me.
“Now I don’t know which is more better between the forest we call dangerous… or you.”
“Be Quiet, you weakling!” I sparked, getting mad at her words. “Quit your acting and just show yourself. I know you’re just faking this drama. Reveal yourself now!”
“Reveal what? What do you want me to show you?” she asked, lifting her brow at me confusingly.
I know she’s trying to hide it from me. She’s pretending. “I don’t know what you did to shield yourself, but I know that you are the one! That’s why you purposely lost to Fiona to escape me! You are the Spirit wolf!”
“Spirit what?” she uttered, looking at her wolf then back at me. “What are you talking about?”
“The truth! Stop hiding it from…”
“My Queen!” Thelma called, pulling me to the side.
“What?!” I shouted, facing my sorceress, who was looking disturbed.
“She’s… she’s not the one. I think I’ve made a mistake.”
“What do you mean by that?” my eyes popped as I felt my whole body turn heavy.
“The potion didn’t work on her. If she was the spirit wolf, she would have passed out by now. She’s not the one.”
“But the signs! You said you saw her reading the mind of that Werecat without his lips moving!”
“I did see that, but at the same time… it must have been a mistake. Maybe he told her something when he went on his knees. But my Queen, she’s no spirit wolf. She’s just a mere Omega,” Thelma shared the bad news, causing my heart to go weak.
I thought I had the wolf in my clutches already. I was ready to receive its powers but… It was never this loser! She’s not the one!
Where’s the spirit wolf hiding then?!
“So, you did all these because you want to know why I left?” Evolet questioned, gaining mine and Thelma’s attention.
We turned and saw how mad she was, as she revealed the main reason for her decision. “I left because of that son of yours. After coming to know the kind of person he truly is, I realized he’s not worth the fight. That’s why I left. If you are mad about it, then fine. I’m ready to face any punishment, since that’s what you’re looking for… your majesty.” She gave a bow of mockery which struck my ego deeply.
The disrespect! I wanted to make her pay but I wasn’t ready to waste my precious time on her.
“That’s your own opinion on my son, Eve. If he’s as bad as you said he was, then why are the others still here worshiping him?”
“That’s because they are too stupid to see he’s just using them to have fun.”
“How dare you?! GET OUT!” I roared, pointing at the door.
She scoffed at me and left with her wolf, slamming the door loudly from behind.
When she left, I screamed out in frustration, tossing everything off the dining table.
Thelma tried to calm me down, but I lost it with her.
“YOU! You said she was the one! Now look at what you’ve done!”
“My Queen, you know I have never been wrong before. All I’ve ever said or shared with you has been the truth. I don’t know how I made this mistake.”
“And that dog? How did he see you? I thought you said the invisibility spell works well? You said it with your own mouth. No one, not even a rodent can see you!” I grabbed her cloth, pulling her close.
“Queen Chriselda listen to me! The spell was meant for that, but… I don’t know. I must have made an error somehow while casting the spell on myself! It’s the first time I’m experiencing this!”
“Oh, I think I know why. It’s because you’re old and weak, just as Allen had said. You are losing your skills.” I pushed her aside, as she tried to defend herself, claiming her powers were still intact. “I’m sure it’s just a mistake which I will learn from now. But trust me, I am not losing my gift.”
“Whatever.” I glared, leaving her alone in the dining room.
I was so mad. I didn’t just miss my chance in getting the spirit wolf but got insulted by that filthy Omega!
That poor rat insulted me, a Queen!
“I hate her! I wish I hadn’t sent her away! I would have…” I paused when I saw something shocking ahead of me.
It was my son, Allen. He was holding the hand of that… that Omega!
“What is Allen doing? Why is he looking at her like that?” I panted, watching them.
Allen was about to draw closer to Evolet, but she forcefully tossed his hand aside and said, “Keep your hands to yourself, Alpha Allen. I am no longer the stupid girl who fell for you back then. You can go and rub butts with the others, but not me.”
“Evolet listen to me. We can talk about…”
But she walked out on my son with no respect! That rat!
“Evolet!” Allen kept calling out to her, but couldn’t go after her when he saw me watching.
Since he had seen me, I decided to step out and talk to him.
“What was all that about?” I questioned Allen, but he suddenly walked out on me, heading up the stairs.
“Allen! Allen, I’m talking to you!” I yelled, following my son, until we arrived at his room.
I had to force my way in, raging at his behavior back there. “You allowed that wolfless animal to speak to you like trash instead of giving her the punishment she deserves? What is wrong with you?!”
“I don’t know, okay?!” he shouted at me, surprising me by the minute.
“I don’t know why I didn’t react to what she said, but… Mother, this girl…” He walked close to the mirror, looking lost.
His face had this annoying grin that irritated me. What’s going on in that head of his?
“This Evolet… She’s amazing, mother. I saw how she handled that Tiger like a true fighter. Her skills, her moves… She was awesome out there. I kept watching her, until she made him fall at her feet with so much power in her eyes. The perfect example of a true Queen. She was beautiful, mother. You should have seen it with your own eyes.”
“So what, Allen?” I rolled my eyes. ” I bet any other girl can do it. Let’s take Fiona for example. She’s a very strong and skillful girl. If she was able to beat that Omega during last night’s game, then I ‘m sure she can take out two Werecats with her eyes closed.” I praised Fiona before my son, so he’d pick where I was heading at.
“I’ve seen the way you look at her with those eyes, son. You love that damsel and find her worthy to be your mate. Isn’t that right, Allen?”
I walked up to my son, who was still staring at the mirror. His behavior was beginning to trouble me, that I had to force him to turn around and face my direction.
“Are you listening to me?!”
Allen stared at me before blinking his eyes, saying, “Yes, I am. You mentioned Fiona and how you noticed my interest in her.”
Hearing that, I felt better. This means that he’s back to his senses.
“Yes, Fiona. I know you want her, that’s why I asked you this morning if you had seen a bride among the maidens. But you were too shy to say a thing.” I giggled, cupping his face. “So now, I’m giving you the chance to do what is right, Allen. Make her yours now. And as promised, I’ll end this hunt.”
“Really?”
“Yes, I promise. I’ll support your choice.”
“In that case…” he slowly lowered my hands down, saying with a smile on his face, “I want to make Evolet my Luna, mother.”
“What?!” I was shocked to hear this from Allen.
Is he mad?!
“Evolet. I want her, mother. She has all the qualities of a true Luna. She’s wonderful. I want to make her my bride. She’s the one I want.”
“Are you crazy?!” I roared, pushing Allen towards the bed in anger.
“I will not allow you to marry that disrespectful and wolfless Omega! She will never be my daughter in law!”
“Mother, you promised. Why are you going back on your words?” Allen questioned, glaring at me. “You are the one who told me to choose my bride and I’ve done that. Why refusing?!”
“Because I don’t approve this decision! You will not marry that rat!”
“Then try me. I will make Evolet mine and you can’t do anything about it!” Allen dared, walking out on me.
“Allen! ALLEN !!” I roared out, getting furious.
This can’t be happening to me. My son has lost his mind!
He wants to make that Omega his bride?
“I refuse this! My son will not marry that girl! He will marry the girl of my choice and that’s Fiona! ARGH!” I yelled.
