A smirk appeared on Tony’s face as he stared at the email from the office of Mehdi King. It seemed like God was on his side. The timing was perfect.
Ever since he found out about him being the leader of the SNAKERS, he had wanted an opportunity to meet him and this had just been given to him on a platter of gold.
He was going to take Lily as his plus one since it would be her first time attending an event with him by her side. To Tony, it was a way of announcing her to the world as his partner as well as preparing her for the life ahead.
He quickly made his way upstairs and placed a light knock on Lily’s door. A few seconds later, she heard the door click and it opened to reveal Lily with a towel tied tightly around her chest.
Her hair and some part of her body were slightly wet and he understood that she had just got out of the shower. Even though he had made a promise not to think of anything sexual around her, his eyes and body seemed to have a mind of their own.
It was torture for him to keep his eyes off her body, especially when she looked like that; her creamy legs out on display and her cleavage directly in front of him.
Tony had to commend himself for being one of the few men in the world with self-control.
One of the many things Tony loved about Lily was how angelic she looked with her natural face. Her face was void of any makeup, her lips full and pink, calling him to have a taste.
Meanwhile, Lily stood at the door with a curious smile on her face as she dabbed her hair with the other towel in her hand.
“Tony…” She called, pulling him out of his daze.
Tony blinked, hoping he wasn’t drooling in front of Lily.
“Yesss..” He said in a rush as she recollected himself. “I’m sorry to disturb you. Do you mind if I come in?” He asked and Lily nodded immediately, gripping her towel tightly.
“I have news…good news.” He said when he saw her eye expression sadden.
“Oh…” She hummed and scooted closer to where he sat.
“I just got a mail from the office of Mehdi King.” He announced and her eyes widened as shock spread through her face.
“Did he?… Oh my God! Has he figured everything out? Did Louis tell him about us?” She panicked, her heart racing already and Tony shook his head, realizing that she was taking it the wrong way and making up scenarios in her head.
“No, no, Lily. It’s nothing like that, I promise.” He said assuringly, caressing her arm.
“What is it then?” Lily asked, still not fully convinced.
“He is hosting a birthday party next week and has invited me to it. That’s it.” Tony revealed and a sigh of deep relief left Lily’s lips.
“Thank goodness…” She breathed out and Tony chuckled lightly.
“The good part is, you get to attend the event with me.” He added and Lily’s eyeballs nearly popped out of their sockets.
“What?! Tony, No.” She shook her head profusely. “I haven’t been to those events before. I am not built for that life.” She added.
“What makes you think so? I believe you will do just fine at the party. All you have to do is be yourself. You are strikingly beautiful and you have a kind heart. I’m sure people will love you.” He complimented them in an attempt to elevate her mood.
“Tony, it is more than that. You are quite popular in this country. A lot of people will have something to say if they see us together. I…I don’t think I am ready for that attention, Tony.” She complained.
Lily couldn’t believe that in less than six months, her life had gone from serving at a nightclub to now having conversations about attending an event as a plus one with Tony Martinez.
“Don’t worry about what anyone has to say, Lily. You will be by my side the entire night so, you won’t have to speak to anyone.” He assured.
Lily hesitated for a moment before giving him a light smile. “Alright then. Let’s do it.”
Tony placed both his hands on her face pulled her in like she was a child and placed a kiss on her forehead.
“That’s more like it.” He said when he pulled out and they both laughed.
“I should leave now so you can rest.” He said with his hands still on her head as he contemplated kissing her lips before leaving.
Lily stared intensely at him with expectations as he placed his hands on both sides of her face.
She hated the pace their relationship was going at but understood that he was doing it for her good. She would have done the same if she were in his shoes but, she needed him to understand that she was in love with him.
Tony noticed her puppy eyes staring at him and knew what she wanted so, he decided to give in to both their wants and lean in.
His lips captured her in a soft but passionate kiss. Lily immediately returned the kiss as soon as she felt his lips on hers, showing how much she had craved his touch.
As the kiss grew hotter, their tongues intertwining and their hands moving swiftly around their bodies, Tony pulled out and rested his forehead on hers, both breathing hard.
“Not tonight, Lily.” He whispered and shut his eyes like the words pierced his heart.
Without saying a word, Lily nodded in understanding.
“Once all of this is over, Lily. Trust me.” Tony promised her one last time and kissed her forehead once again before walking out of the room.
As he left, Lily looked down at her towel and noticed that it was still wrapped around her body tightly even after that intense kiss.
“Well, maybe if you came off, he would have changed his mind.” She sighed and immediately clasped her hand over her mouth.
“What is wrong with you, Lily?! You sound like a horny teenager!” She groaned and screamed into her pillow.

The next morning, Tony woke up earlier than normal, determined to speak to Rachael before Lily woke up. When he arrived at the dining room, Rachael was already seated, scrolling through her phone.
“Good morning, Rachael.” He greeted them and made himself comfortable on a chair.
“Good morning, Tony.” She hummed in reply without looking at him.
“Can we talk for a moment, please? He asked and she sighed as she dropped her phone on the table and folded her arms.
“This is about Lily, isn’t it?”
