Chapter Nineteen

Book:The Billionaire's Regret Published:2025-2-8

“The gang Louis belongs to is SNAKERS and I know who the gang leader is,” Lily revealed, biting her lips nervously. Her heart was racing and her hands were shaking. She never thought that she would let the secret out so soon. Saying it now, she realized that she might have dug her own grave.
Tony looked like he had seen a ghost. He knew Louis was a dangerous man but hearing what gang he belonged to made him wonder how Lily had coped with such a man for five years.
Only a person who had been living under a rock wouldn’t know who the SNAKERS were. Their unknown boss controlled half of Paris and even though they were known for their illegal deeds, no policeman or detective was brave enough to go after them.
“What the fuck, Lily?” Tony sighed and shut his eyes out of frustration. “Why did you have to meet a man like that? I can’t imagine what you must have had to endure. Keeping a secret like that must have been hard.” Tony sympathized with her, caressing her face with his palm.
“Does he know?” He asked and Lily nodded immediately.
“I don’t know how he found out but he just did. I tried to deny it but he beat me up and told me that it didn’t matter even if I didn’t as he had already mentioned it while trying to get the truth out of me.” She replied, her mouth quivering as she spoke.
“How do you even know this? Did one of his friends tell you?” Tony asked after a while and Lily shook her head before replying.
“No. He hosted a party at the house and I was to serve them. They all got drunk and started spilling their secrets. Initially, I didn’t know what was going on or what they were talking about but, after a while, I began to understand. That was when I realized that I was in the presence of dangerous men. I wanted to run but then I realized that I could use that against Louis in the future.” Lily paused and breathed in.
“I made a video of them.” She said and Tony gasped, his mouth parting slightly. “I knew Louis would find it if I kept it in my phone since he goes through my phone every day, so I saved it in the cloud storage and deleted it from the main phone.” She finished and pulled out her phone to show him the video.
Tony had never been so proud of anyone in his life. Even though it was risky to have that video, it was also smart of her to make a video. If used properly, the video could expose the leader of the SNAKERS gang and force him out of hiding.
Lily might just become a hero overnight.
As Tony watched the video, he was disgusted at how Louis and his friends talked about murders, rape, and robbery like it was nothing, like they weren’t ruining people’s life.
In his drunken state, one of Louis’s friends began to talk about the leader of the gang.
“That shit head Draco. Orders us around like we are some minions. One day, I’ll shoot his stupid ass myself and lead the gang. Don’t worry boys, I won’t treat you like minions.” He slurred and the others laughed loudly.
“He’s lucky we all keep our mouths shut, you know. Imagine what will happen if people find out that he is the owner of the Kings Hotel. His good name will be tarnished. Fucking Mehdi King trafficking girls for money and raping the ones he can. He’ll be fucked!” Another said loudly and fell to the ground, shaking with laughter.
Tony paused the video and looked at Lily. His eyes were filled with shock. He couldn’t believe his ears.
Mehdi King was one of the richest men in Paris and was respected by everyone in the country. He had received various awards for his humanitarian services and even dined with the top politicians. Hearing that a man like that was leading a gang like SNAKERS was something Tony found hard to believe. He was causing unrest among the people in the country as Draco and saving them from their troubles as Mehdi King.
“Fuck!” Tony sighed.
“Do you want me to give this information to the police? They might be able to stop him if they know his true identity.” Lily suggested but Tony shook his head.
“No. Dealing with the police is nothing for a man like Mehdi King. He will have the case covered up in seconds and we will be the ones to suffer.” Tony replied. He knew how influential Mehdi was. That explained how he was able to keep his boys away from the police.
Tony had seen him at various dinners and charity events and had even spoken to him on various occasions. As a matter of fact, he was one of TM Hospital’s VVIP clients.
“What do we do then?” Lily asked desperately.
“The only way to bring a man like Mehdi King down is by using the one thing he fears the most,” Tony said and smiled briefly.
“Social media. His wealth and influence have no power there. Once the news about him being the leader of a gang like SNAKERS starts to spread, it will be impossible to stop it. The police will have no choice but to arrest him.” Tony explained.
“But, we need proper evidence. All we have is a video of a random drunk man talking about him. It’s not strong enough to make people believe.” Tony said as he racked his brain for a way to get evidence.
“I know a way!” Lily blurted.
“If I meet up with Louis and tap his phone, we will be able to hear his conversations. If we are lucky, he might meet up with Mehdi King one day. Then, we’d have evidence.” She suggested but Tony immediately shook his head.
“No, Lily. We are not doing that. Meeting Louis is too risky for you, especially after everything that has happened. You’d be walking into a pit if you do that.” He said.
“I can’t let you do that. We’ll have to think of something else.”
Lily sighed heavily as he spoke. She knew that this was the only way. “I know that this is dangerous but, it is the only option we have, Tony.” She pushed.
“If we put Mehdi King behind bars, doing the same to Louis will be a piece of cake. He is only confident because he knows that he has the backing of the gang. If the gang is no more, his wings would be clipped and the only way to destroy the gang is to destroy the leader. The only way to do that is to meet with Louis.” Lily explained.
Tony knew she was right but, the last thing he wanted was for Lily to see Louis again. No one knows what the psychopath might do if sees Lily.
Lily scooted closer to Tony and leaned in so that he could look into her eyes. “I know what you are worried about, Tony but, I assure you that nothing will happen. I have lived with him for three years. This one time won’t kill me.”
