After breakfast, Rachael pulled Lily back into the room, telling Tony she needed to prepare for the outing.
“Will you tell me where he’s taking me?” Lily asked once they were in the room, and Rachael smiled apologetically.
“I would if I had an idea but, my brother won’t tell me. He knows I’ll tell you if he does.” Rachael replied and Lily pouted sadly.
“Come on now. Let’s not keep the man waiting.” Rachael said, pushing her into the closet so she could get out of her clothes.
When Lily returned to the room, Rachael had already laid up her makeup products on the dressing table.
“No, no. Rachael, please. I’m not wearing makeup. It’ll give him the wrong idea.” Lily shook her head and chuckled awkwardly.
“I’m just going to go with a light makeup, Lily. It’s a ‘No makeup’ makeup.” Rachael explained and begged with a smile.
Lily sighed defeatedly and nodded. “Fine.” She agreed, and Rachael immediately got to work.
Since Lily was a beauty, she didn’t have much to do on her face, and she had also promised to keep it moderate, so she didn’t use most of the products she pulled out earlier.
She then moved to her hair and gave her blonde hair wavy curles. She pinned her hair up, holding it in place until she was done with her dress.
Fifteen minutes later, Rachael announced that she was done with both her hair and makeup and Lily finally looked at the mirror.
“Wow.” She whispered as she saw how beautiful she looked. Rachael had kept to her promise and didn’t use many makeup products, but it still gave her a different look.
“Do you like it?” Rachael asked, smiling from ear to ear at her work.
“Like it? I absolutely love it, Rachael!” Lily replied honestly and Rachael tapped her shoulder proudly.
“We can stare at your beautiful face later. Let’s get you dressed.” Rachael said, grabbed the red dress from the bed, and helped Lily out of the robe she had on. Then, she helped her wear the red dress, which fit her like second skin. The short dress stopped slightly above her knees and showed off her creamy legs.
“Oh my!” Lily exclaimed as she stared at her reflection in the mirror. Tears threatened to fall out of her eyes, but Lily held them in. She couldn’t afford to shed tears and ruin her makeup.
The last time she dressed up like this was when Loius took her on a date to celebrate their living together three years ago. Since then, he didn’t take her on more dates because, according to him, it was a waste of money.
Lily soon believed it too and no longer cared about them. She didn’t even make an effort to dress up because she didn’t want to waste money.
Rachael saw Lily’s teary eye through the mirror and her heart was filled with sadness. She had heard a part of Lily’s story from Tony, so she had an idea of what could make her cry.
“You look amazing, Lily. And it has nothing to do with the dress. You are just so beautiful that anything you put on looks amazing.” Rachael praised, and Lily smiled sadly, blinking her eyes rapidly to remove the tears.
“Thank you,” Lily whispered.
“Come now. Tony must be itching to see you.” Rachael giggled and pulled Lily with her.
Rachael knew how much her brother cared about Lily, and she wouldn’t keep quiet until Lily knew. All she wanted was for Lily to finally see how much her brother cared for her even though he had barely known her for a week.
Tony sat in the living room, waiting for Lily. He had chosen the red dress for her but gave it to Rachael to do the honors. It had almost been an hour since she went up to get ready, but he knew better than to complain. Tony was already used to waiting, thanks to his sister, who always took hours to prepare.
Tony heard footsteps and light chatter from the stairs and knew they were finally done. He stood up and waited for Lily to come down. Rachael was the first to come down with a wide grin. She winked at her brother, telling him to prepare to be smitten, and Lily finally came into view.
Tony felt his heart stop briefly, and his mouth suddenly dried.
‘She’s fucking gorgeous.” He thought.
Since Tony saw Lily at the club, he knew she was extremely beautiful. He couldn’t keep his eyes off her that night; she had no makeup on, and her hair was packed in a messy bun. But, without any effort, she had captured his heart.
Now that she had a dress on and a hair makeover, Tony thought his heart would jump out of his chest.
“You are so beautiful, Lily.” He said without hesitation. He held his hand out for her, and she took it gladly.
“Thank you. You look really good, too.” She said truthfully.
He was wearing a black corporate shirt and trousers, giving him a dark look that Lily loved. His dark hair was also styled neatly in a side parting that framed his face perfectly.
Lily had a hard time staring at him for long because of how handsome Tony was. She could never keep eye contact with him for a long time.
She bit her lips nervously and stared at the floor.
“Well, you two! Have fun!” Rachael screamed as she walked them to the door.
“Thank you, Rachael.” Lily smiled and hugged her before returning to Tony’s side.
“See you soon, sister.” Tony waved and opened the door for Lily and helped her get in.
Lily nervously played with her fingers as she waited in Tony’s car. She wasn’t used to that kind of treatment from a man, so she didn’t know how to act. She knew that Tony had feelings for her and couldn’t deny that she also had feelings for him, but it was still too early to conclude.
Tony had been nice to her since she met him, and she was really grateful, but that wasn’t enough to convince her that he would be that way forever.
Louis was also nice to her in the early stages of their relationship, but see how things turned out. She wasn’t saying that Tony was going to be like Louis. She could sense that Tony was a good man. For Louis, she was just naive and eager to be in a relationship that she closed her eyes to all his red flags in the early stages and believed she could change him.
Things didn’t go according to her plan.
With Tony, she wanted to take things slowly until she was completely sure he was the right one
She was too deep in thought; she didn’t notice that Tony had already entered the car. It was until he leaned in and his face was a few inches away from hers that she snapped back to reality.
She thought he would kiss her, so she held her breath and closed her eyes.
Tony chuckled at her and shook his head before tucking his hand behind her and grabbing the seat belt.
“Your seatbelt.” He said, using the opportunity to stare at her lips, which invited him in.
Lily opened her eyes slowly when she realized he was just leaning in to help her with her seatbelt. Her cheeks immediately reddened out of embarrassment, and she lowered her head.
“Thank you.” She whispered before adjusting in her seat.
Tony nodded and pulled back before igniting the engine. As the car came on, he turned to her and smirked.
“Our first kiss won’t be in a car, Lily. Trust me.”
