Immediately Damien said those words, Harriett removed her phone from her ears and ended the call. Throwing her phone on the kitchen counter as her heart raced.
A few years ago, those words would have meant the world to her but now, she preferred not hearing it.
How did it take him that long to finally fall in love with her and why was it only happening after she left? Harriett’s mind was a mess as she slumped on the kitchen stool.
Five minutes later, she adjusted her position and recollected herself. As she took her phone and headed to her room, a smile appeared on her face.
“It’s a good thing he loves me. It will only make my revenge more hurtful.”

“Harriett? Are you in there?” A knock on the door stirred her from her sleep and she jumped out of the bed when she recognized the voice to be her mother’s.
“Goodness, Harriett. What were you doing last night to make you sleep in?” Ha Young asked as Harriett yawned and cleaned her eyes, getting rid of the dizziness.
“Slept in? What time is it?” She walked back into the room and sat on the bed.
“9:30am. Pretty late, huh?” Her mother replied and all the sleep cleared from Harriett’s eyes as she realized that she had indeed over slept.
“Why didn’t you come earlier? Addison and Adrian.. where are they?” She asked, rushing to the closet to get fresh clothes.
“They just had breakfast and went back to bed…. Did Damien inform you that he’ll be visiting today?” Ha Young asked and Harriett immediately paused and turned to her mother.
“No. Why? Is he h… . oh my God!” Her hand flew to her mouth as she remembered their conversation from yesterday and how he had talked about coming over to try again with Addison.
“He did?” Ha Young asked, seeing Harriett’s baffled expression.
“Yes.. last night he called and said something about wanting to be with Addison and I agreed. I didn’t know he’d be so early.” She groaned and ran to the bathroom to freshen up.
As Harriett showered, Ha Young waited on the bed with a frown on her face. She didn’t like that her daughter was still speaking with Damien even though she knew it couldn’t be avoided because of their children.
When the maid had informed her about Damien’s presence in the house, she came straight to Harriett’s room. She had not my Damien in person since their return to New York majorly because she didn’t want to cause a scene in her house as the twins could appear at any time.
Deep down, she wanted to give him a piece of her mind.
Harriett hurriedly changed into a purple flowery dress that stopped at the middle of her thighs and showed off her long and thick creamy legs.
“Your father is home, Su ji. Get him to leave before Jake finds out.” Ha Young warned as she watched her daughter get ready. She couldn’t help but notice that Harriett was paying more attention to her appearance when she would only be at home.
She didn’t need any sorcerer to tell her that it was because of Damien’s presence.
“He can’t avoid Dad forever, mum. They’d eventually meet. Better we get it over with now than later.” She said and finished her look a pair of shiny silver earrings.
She went to her children’s room first to check up on the before going downstairs to meet Damien. As she arrived, she was met with a sight that she didn’t prepare for.
It was Jake Edward, returning from his workout session through the front door.
As soon as he entered, Damien saw him walk in, he immediately stood from his seat which caused Jake to take notice of his presence.
His mood turned sour and his expression darkened as he stared at the man who made his daughter suffer.
“What the fuck are you doing here?” He groaned, taking off his airpods as he charged towards Damien.
“Woah, woah. Dad!” Harriett rushed down the stairs and held her father before he would start throwing punches at Damien.
“Sir.” Damien spoke. He wasn’t scared of what Jake Edward could do because he knew he deserved it. If anything, he wanted the man to beat him up if it would name him feel better..
“Don’t you dare! You will leave my house right this instant!” Jake roared, his body shaking in anger. The only reason why he hadn’t disfigured Damien’s face was because of Harriett’s hold on him.
“Dad.. wait. He’s here to see his children. Not me. Please calm down.” Harriett whispered to her father. He stared at Damien for a while before going into his room.
“I cannot say that I am sorry about that.” Harriett said as soon as her father was gone and Damien nodded, understanding her fully.
“It’s okay. I deserve worse than that.” He replied but Harriett said nothing, taking a seat on the sofa.
As she sat, her dress rose up, showing more of her thighs and Damien found himself staring at her. Not out of lust but in awe. He couldn’t believe how he had failed to notice her beauty all these years.
“I’m afraid but you might need to come back later. Addison is asleep right now” Harriett said, bringing Damien out of his daze.
“I can wait here…. If you don’t mind.” He said, happy that he could spend more time with Harriett.
“Don’t you have a company to run? You seem to have so much free time these days.” Harriett shook her head and he chuckled.
“I’m the CEO, Harriett. I don’t have to be there at all times.” He explained, leaving out the park where his father, the company’s chairman gave him the freedom to do so because of Damien’s quest to win Harriett’s heart again.
Harriett nodded and picked up her phone, sending Tony a text to come downstairs. She suddenly felt the urge to piss Damien off. It was almost one week and she also needed Damien to get on his knees.
What better way than to drive him there with jealousy?
As soon as Tony came down, she ran to his side and gave him a hug, surprising both Tony and Damien.
“I didn’t see you yesterday, Tony. I thought you had left already.” She pouted, using her eyes to tell Tony to help her and he immediately understood.
“I missed you too, Harri. Hello, Damien.” He greeted with his hand wrapped around Harriet’s waist.
As pained as Damien was, he decided to prove to Harriett that this time around, he was going to win her over fair and square.
“Morning to you too, Tony. I’m here to see my children, by the way. You can bring Addison to me when she wakes up. She seems to like her mother’s friend more than her father.”
