Alison’s Point of View
The night was cloaked in a serene stillness, the kind that felt sacred, as though the world itself held its breath. The faint hum of crickets outside blended with the soft rustle of the wind through the trees. I stood by the window in our bedroom, the silver light of the full moon washing over me like a gentle caress. Its glow illuminated the room, casting long shadows that danced on the walls.
I wrapped my arms around myself, feeling the soft cotton of my robe against my skin. My hair, still damp from the shower, clung to my back, and I brushed it away absently as I gazed out at the night.
The moon had always been a silent witness to my life, a distant, glowing guardian. Tonight, it seemed brighter, fuller, as if it too celebrated the journey I had taken to reach this moment. I pressed a hand to the cool glass, feeling a sense of connection to the universe beyond.
How did I get here? The thought whispered through my mind, not in disbelief, but in awe.
Memories swirled, unbidden, like scenes from a dream. The pain that came with every single heartbreak u felt with Kendrick, when I’d thought love was forever out of reach. The fear of stepping into a new life with Xander, not knowing if I could rise to the challenges of being Luna, after all I was just a slave. The trials we had faced together, some orchestrated by Caitlyn, series of betrayals, battles, and moments where everything seemed on the brink of collapse.
And yet, here I was.
I glanced over my shoulder at the room behind me, at the bed where Xander would soon join me. This was our sanctuary, a space that felt like home because of him. Every piece of furniture, every woven blanket, every scent lingering in the air told a story of us.
A soft smile tugged at my lips as I thought of the man who had transformed my world. Xander, with his unyielding strength and quiet tenderness, had become my anchor, my partner, my love.
“Lost in thought again?”
His voice, deep and rich, came from the doorway. I turned, startled but smiling. There he stood, his figure framed by the light spilling in from the hall. His hair was tousled, his shirt unbuttoned at the collar, and his eyes held a warmth that melted me every time.
“Just admiring the moon,” I said softly, gesturing toward the window.
Xander stepped closer, his bare feet making no sound on the wooden floor. He reached for me, his hand brushing against my cheek as he tucked a stray strand of hair behind my ear.
“You’ve always loved the moon, little wonder why the Moon Goddess constantly favour’s you!” he said, his voice laced with affection.
I nodded, leaning into his touch. “It’s seen me through everything. I guess it’s my way of thanking the Moon Goddess for you, for this life, for everything we’ve built together.”
Xander pulled me into his arms, his embrace firm yet tender. His scent, a mix of pine and earth wrapped around me, grounding me in the present.
“We’ve come a long way, haven’t we?” he murmured, his lips brushing against my temple.
I closed my eyes, letting the memories wash over me. “So far. Sometimes it feels like a dream.”
He chuckled softly, the sound vibrating through his chest. “Well, if it is, I don’t ever want to wake up.”
His words were simple, but they held a depth that made my heart swell. I tilted my head to look up at him, my fingers tracing the line of his jaw. “Thank you,” I whispered.
“For what?”
“For believing in me when I didn’t believe in myself. For standing by me, even when things got hard you abandoned me. For loving me the way you do.”
Xander’s expression softened, his eyes shimmering in the moonlight. “Alison, you’ve always been stronger than you give yourself credit for. You didn’t just step into this role, you’ve owned it. The pack sees it, I see it. You’ve become everything they need in a Luna, and so much more.”
Tears pricked at the corners of my eyes, but I blinked them away, not wanting to lose this moment in a haze of emotion. “You make it so easy to be strong,” I said, my voice thick with feeling.
He leaned down, pressing a kiss to my forehead. “And you make it easy to lead.”
We stood there for a while, wrapped in each other’s arms, the moonlight bathing us in its glow. It was a moment of pure peace, a reminder of why we had fought so hard to protect what we had.
Eventually, Xander pulled back, his gaze searching mine. “Come to bed,” he said gently.
I nodded, letting him lead me to the bed. The sheets were cool against my skin as I slid beneath them, and Xander joined me, his presence a comforting weight beside me.
For a while, we lay in silence, our fingers intertwined between us. I turned my head to look at him, marveling at how the shadows played across his features. Even in the dim light, he was breathtaking.
“What are you thinking about?” he asked, his voice low and soothing.
I hesitated, then said, “The future.”
Xander’s brow furrowed slightly. “Are you worried about something?”
“No,” I said quickly, squeezing his hand. “It’s not that. I’m just… excited. For everything that’s to come. For the life we’re building together. For the pack, for us.”
His expression softened, and he brought my hand to his lips, pressing a kiss to my knuckles. “The future is ours, Alison. Whatever comes our way, we’ll face it together.”
His words settled something deep inside me, a reassurance that I hadn’t even realized I needed. I shifted closer to him, resting my head against his chest. His heartbeat was steady, a rhythm that matched my own.
As I lay there, my thoughts drifted back to the moon. Its light still spilled through the window, casting a soft glow over the room. I closed my eyes, silently sending a prayer of gratitude to the Moon Goddess.
“Thank you for this life, for this love, for this moment.”
I felt Xander’s arms tighten around me, his lips brushing against my hair. “Goodnight, my Luna,” he murmured, his voice like a lullaby.
“Goodnight, my Alpha,” I whispered back, a smile tugging at my lips.
And as I drifted off to sleep, wrapped in the warmth of his embrace, I felt a deep sense of contentment, knowing that the blessings of the moon would guide us in the days to come.
The future was bright, and for the first time in my life, I felt truly ready to embrace it.
