Chapter 93: I’m highly disappointed with you

Raymond’s mind was still reeling with Ashley’s earlier revelations as the sleek black SUV drove him to World-Glow enterprise. A mixture of emotions swirled within him as he thought about how his grandfather had separated him and Ashley five years ago. It’s not that he was sad because he couldn’t be with Ashley. It’s just that he felt betrayed remembering how his grandfather had kept him in the dark about what really happened.
The sleek black SUV finally came to a halt at Raymond’s private parking lot in World-Glow enterprise. As he stepped out of his vehicle, he saw a black limousine was parked in his space. None of his employees has the guts to use his private parking lot. The only person that could do this was none other than his Grandfather.
His brow furrowed slightly as he thought about what was wrong this time. Why was his grandfather looking for him? Did he know that he met up with Ashley, that was why he was here?
Many unanswered questions filled Raymond’s head as he made his way to the elevator connected to his parking lot, giving him the right privacy he needed. Except from the higher ups in World-Glow enterprise, and the secretaries outside Raymond’s office, no one knows when he goes in or comes out of the enterprise.
As he exited the private elevator, one of his secretaries rushed forward, her voice trembling slightly. “Good morning sir. The old master is waiting for your arrival.”
Raymond’s expression was impassive, his powerful stride unwavering as he passed by the secretary, not acknowledging whether he heard all she said or not. He made his way to his office, the door closing behind him, blocking off whatever was happening outside.
Lucas, who was trailing behind his boss, stopped midway. He took in a deep breath as he walked towards the secretary. “Why are you still standing there in a daze? Is this the first time you are seeing Mr Walton that way? Get back to work!” Lucas growls, calling back the attention of the gossipy secretaries that had started coming together to gossip about what was wrong with their devilish boss.
They all scurried away to their desk and continued their work, not daring to make any sound. Aside from their big boss, they are scared of PA Lucas, who could be said to be their boss’s right hand man. Anything he said was like an order from Raymond himself.
Lucas walked to his desk, his heart in his throat as he thought of the scene where the big and young master would confront each other about the past. Sighing heavily, Lucas sat down, preparing for the day’s work. He still had to arrange his boss’s schedules.
Raymond’s office door swung shut behind him as he circled the luxuriously furnished office room. His gaze was directed to the floor, not wanting to look at his grandfather, pretending that he didn’t know he was in his office.
“Is this the time you are supposed to come to work?” Grandfather Walton gritted his teeth in anger, seeing his grandson pretending like he didn’t notice his presence.
Raymond sat on his executive chair, and opened his laptop to start working. His fingers were flying across the keyboard in an extraordinary way, still ignoring his grandfather’s presence.
“You brat! I’m talking to you. Are you ignoring me on purpose?” Grandfather Walton stood up from the plush couch, his old body shaking with rage. He couldn’t accept that Raymond was ignoring him because of whatever nonsense that wretched girl had told him.
His men, who he had instructed to keep their eyes on Ashley, had informed him a few hours ago that Ashley met up with Raymond secretly in a private cafe. He was very enraged when he heard the news. That was why he was here at this moment, but his grandson wasn’t giving him any face. All this was all that sl*tty actress’s fault.
“Tell me, are you ignoring me because of that bitch? What the heck did she tell you? Let me warn you, I would never allow you to get back with her no matter what. You are already married. You should stick to your wife. There is no room for divorce in the Waltons family dictionary.” Grandfather Walton yelled as different kinds of abusive words came out of his mouth. He was quite enraged at Raymond’s snobbish attitude.
Raymond finally raised his head up from his laptop. His ocean blue eyes stared into his grandfather’s own, which was quite similar to his. The air was thickened with tension as none of them was ready to back down. The room was filled with the sound of the running printing machine.
“How could you grandfather? How could you separate me and Ashley five years ago, and still pretend like you don’t know anything about it?” Raymond snapped at his grandfather, his cold voice piercing through the silence filled room.
Old grandpa Walton was shocked for a moment before he opened his mouth. “So what if I know about it? All I did back then was for your own good. Did you know what that bitch was doing behind your back when you guys were dating? I can never allow that bitch to step into the Waltons mansion as my granddaughter-in-law, never!”
Raymond’s eyes widened in shock at his grandfather’s outburst. He had never seen the old man lose his temper like this before. The use of abusive words was a punishable crime in the Walton’s family. His grandfather had used many abusive words on Ashley in a row just now. He couldn’t help but think that Ashley might’ve not told him all that happened five years ago.
He knew his grandfather wasn’t a fan of choosing a life partner for his kin like the remaining prominent and wealthy families he knew. He calmed down a bit as he thought that his grandfather must have his reasons for doing what he did five years ago.
Grandfather Walton was very disappointed in Raymond for believing Ashley’s words without asking him about what had happened first. He was right back then. Ashley was never a good person. She was a disaster.
“Since you choose to believe that no-name actress than me, I don’t think I would be having this conversation with you.” Grandpa Walton angrily turned and left, making his way to the door.”
“Grand…” Raymond stood up and was about to stop his grandfather, when the old man turned around to face him, cutting his words short.
“I don’t need your apology Raymond. I’m highly disappointed in you. There is a flash drive in one of your drawers. The reasons why I did all that I did back then were all in there.” Old grandpa Walton used his jaw to point towards Raymond’s drawer. “Check it out and see the righteous woman you are going against me for.” Old man Walton scoffed, still angry with Raymond.
“If after seeing all that and you still chose to continue trending online with that shameless slut, don’t blame me for being ruthless.” Grandpa Walton spat, his face twisted in anger as he stormed out of the room.
It’s like it’s the high time I make that little girl know that I can make her fall, just as easily as I made her rise to fame. No one goes against me and gets away with it. Old Walton thought as he made his way to the elevator.
While in Raymond’s office, Raymond was standing straight, his eyes narrowed as he regretted speaking to his grandfather rudely. Though he was always cold to the old man, he had never for once disrespected him. He angrily slammed his fist on his desk, not feeling the pain as he realised that the questions that had been eating him up for years, were likely what would ruin his loving relationship with his grandfather.
Taking a deep breath to calm his raging heart, Raymond opened his drawers one after the other, before finding the flash drive his grandfather was talking about.
He sat back behind his desk and inserted the flash drive into his laptop. Raymond was shocked beyond words as he watched the X-rated videos in front of him. He instantly felt nauseous as he watched the disgusting videos of Ashley sleeping with different men.
The one that irritated him the most were the ones she acted coquettishly, asking to be featured in a movie. Raymond finally realized that his earlier guess about Ashley was right. She had been into shady stuff to make it to the top. The Ashley he was watching in those videos looked so unfamiliar from the sweet, gentle girl he fell in love with in high school.
As Raymond was deep in thought, thinking about how to deal with Ashley for lying to him once again, and also made him misunderstood his grandfather because of her, his office door was pushed open as assistant Lucas stepped in.
“Boss, I think you need to see this.” Lucas passed the tablet in his hand to Raymond, his brow furrowed in disgust.
On the tablet screen were pictures of Ashley’s earlier meeting with Raymond. Thanks to the evidence Raymond had told Lucas to gather earlier, making him able to bring Ashley’s blogger who helped her to post the trending hospital photos online to their side. He was the one that sent the photos to Lucas, if not, the photos would have also been posted without their knowledge.
Raymond smashed the tablet on the floor in anger. Poor tablet, Lucas thought, looking at the new tablet he just got a few days ago after his boss had angrily smashed the last one.
“Since she doesn’t want to learn her lesson, inform the PR department to proceed as planned. All Ashley’s shady activities must be exposed. Since she thinks she is smart, I wouldn’t mind showing her who the boss of this game is.” Raymond’s cold voice cut through the air, causing Lucas to shiver a little.
He couldn’t help shedding tears for Ashley for playing with the wrong person. The Raymond who had tolerated her shenanigans years ago wasn’t the same years later. She should have never come back. Lucas thought as he nodded his head, making his way out of the office, to go and give the verdict that would determine Ashley’s future.
