Mira sauntered over to the booth, her confident stride turning heads. As she reached the familiar figure’s booth, he looked up, his eyes locking onto hers.
“What are you doing here?” He said, a mixture of surprise and wariness crossing his face.
Mr Vic,” Mira purred, sliding into the booth beside him. “I see you’re still surrounded by beautiful women.” Mira pretended she wasn’t affected by his wariness of her.
Vic’s gaze drifted to the women, his expression uneasy. “Just enjoying the night, and why are you looking for me after what you did last time, leaving me to fend for myself.”
Mira’s eyes narrowed. “I’m sorry about what happened last time. It’s not that I didn’t want to help, I was just busy.
“Busy,” Mr. Vic chuckled. “I was almost killed by that bitch that night, and here you are telling me you are too busy to even check up on me.” His eyes flashed with anger. His fat body swayed with each labored breath, his jowls quivering with rage, Mr. Vic’s face reddened. “You didn’t even care to know if I survived. You just used me like a disposable tool.”
Mira’s expression remained neutral, but her voice took on a conciliatory tone. “Vic, I apologize. I was caught up in my own problems.”
Vic’s laughter was cold and mirthless. “Your problems? You mean your obsession with your sister’s fiance, and also destroying your sister? That’s all this is about, isn’t it?”
Mira’s eyes narrowed, her gaze flashing with warning. “Let’s focus on the present, Vic. I need your help.”
Vic’s anger seemed to boil over, his thick neck bulging. “And why should I help you? You’ve shown me exactly how much you care.”
Mira’s smile was calculated, her voice dripping with sweetness. “Because, Vic, I can offer you something you desperately need, revenge. Don’t tell me you don’t want to teach that bitch a lesson, for almost killing you that night?”
Vic’s eyes flashed with renewed anger, his face reddening at the memory. “Teach her a lesson?” he growled, his voice low and menacing. “I want to make her pay for what she did.”
Mira’s smile grew wider, her eyes glinting with triumph. “Exactly. And I can help you do just that.”
Vic’s expression faltered, his anger momentarily replaced by curiosity.
Vic’s gaze drifted to the women surrounding him, his expression dismissive. “Ladies, I think it’s time for you to leave. I have business to discuss.”
The women exchanged disappointed glances but quickly gathered their belongings and slid out of the booth. As they departed, Vic’s attention returned to Mira.
“Alright, Mira. We’re alone now. Tell me more about this plan to make Lina pay.”
Mira motioned for Vic to move closer to her. She told him all her plans. After discussing their plan, Vic weighed the pros and cons, Vic leaned back in his seat, his expression thoughtful. He rubbed his chin, weighing the pros and cons of Mira’s plan.
“Alright, Mira, I’ll admit, I’m intrigued. But what’s in it for me?”
Mira’s smile never wavered. “Revenge, Vic. You’ll get to make Lina pay for what she did to you.”
Vic snorted. “That’s not enough. I want something more tangible.”
Mira’s eyes narrowed. “What do you want, Vic?”
Vic’s gaze locked onto Mira’s. “Protection,” Vic said, his voice low. “I want assurance that I’ll be safe from Lina’s retaliation. And a guarantee that you’ll have my back, no matter what.”
Mira’s expression turned calculating. “You want me to vouch for you?”
Vic nodded. “Exactly. I don’t want to be left hanging like last time.”
Mira’s smile grew wider. “I’ll make sure you’re protected, Vic. You’ll have my full support.”
Vic’s gaze lingered on Mira’s, searching for sincerity. “And what about the profits?”
Mira leaned in, her voice barely above a whisper. “Fifty thousand dollars is in this deal for you. You do a clean job, you get the money.” Vic’s eyes shone after hearing his pay for the job. Seeing his reaction, Mira smiled as she raised her purse up. “Take this,” he handed him a bank card, there was twenty five thousand dollars in it. After the job, you get the remaining ones.”
Vic’s eyes narrowed, weighing the risks and benefits. “Alright, Mira. I’m in. But if you betray me again…” he collected the card, sliding it into his pocket.
Mira’s laughter was husky. “You’ll get your revenge, Vic. I promise, and I won’t betray you this time around.

“Pour me a cup of vodka.” Nicholas ordered one of the beautiful ladies that was seated around him. “Hey, Jayden, what’s happening? Is the world ending? Why am I not seeing anyone with you today? Don’t tell me you are also hooked.” Nicholas mocked his friend.
One hour ago, Nicholas had invited all his friends to meet up with him at heaven’s bar, in their usual private room. Dylan was the only person absent.
Raymond, who was sitting crossed leg, slipped a cigarette between his thin lips, lighting it up, and taking a long drag. His face was soon covered in smoke.
“Hey Raymond, Nicholas called, it’s been more than two weeks since you came back from your business trip, and you have not introduced us to your wife. Are you scared of her getting snatched away.” Nicholas chuckled.
Raymond glared at him, his piercing blue eyes sending warning signals to shut Nicholas up. He hadn’t seen that little woman for a week now. He tried getting her out of his head, but nothing is working out. He thought he would at least get some hours to get her out of his mind with his friend around. Who knew this childish friend of his would remind her of him.
Jayden, who was sitting beside Raymond, who was also smoking, chuckled. “Nicholas, I didn’t know…
Jayden’s words hung on his lips seeing the disheveled woman storming into the room. “Someone please help my friend, she is in danger.”
