Lina was preparing to leave the house to go check the surveillance footage in the hotel, maybe she would see some evidence of those two cheaters, which will explain to the public about the reason why she rejected the marriage.
Just posting anything randomly online won’t do her justice, it would just make the matter worse. Changing out of her clothes she put on earlier, she put on something that would make her comfortable.
Since she had promised herself that she won’t hide her beautiful self anymore, she decided to go shopping after all these matters were settled.
As she picked up her hand bag, she heard her phone ringing. Taking out her phone from her bag, since she had already packed her bag before, she saw that it was her father that was calling her. Taking a deep breath, she picked up the call.
After all that happened, she still loved her father, no matter how he treated her. Since he is the only family she had left, she doesn’t have a choice than to tolerate all his shenanigans. When she says she doesn’t want him as her father anymore, it was due to anger. She regretted saying that to her father, but what had been done is done.
Picking up the call, she heard her father roar into the phone, ” How dare you not pick up my calls since I’ve been calling you. After all you’ve done, you still have the gut to not pick up my calls?”
She frowned slightly listening to her father, but remembering that her father is always high tempered when it comes to dealing with her, she shrugged her shoulders. She is used to this treatment anyways.
“And why should I pick up your calls anytime you call me?” She fired back. Listening to her, her father was so angry that he almost vomited blood.
“You! How dare you speak to me like that?” “And how should I speak to you, didn’t you announce it to everyone yesterday that you have disowned me, why are you calling your unwanted daughter now?”
Listening from the other end of the call, Mira’s mother was so angry. Since she is not far from her husband, she could hear all that Lina was saying. Taking the phone, she speaks up with a calm voice.
“Lina, why are you speaking to your father like that, don’t tell me you have not seen the news this morning? Your father called just because he cared about you, no matter what happened, we are all family.”
Listening to that pretentious voice of her stepmother, Lina felt like puking. Rachael, Mira’s mother, has always been like this. No matter what she is plotting, she won’t show her worst side in front of Joshua, her husband. She is a hypocrite.
She always shows him her perfect sides. Listening to how she talks to her calmly due to her father who is beside her, she rolled her eyes. “Who do you think you are to discipline me, I’m talking to my father, when is it your turn to interfere between me and my father? Whether I see today’s news or not, how is it your business?”
Since the day her father brought back this woman and her daughter, even though she accepted Mira as her sister due to the reason she herself didn’t understand, she had never for once accepted this woman as her mother. She always suspects that she is behind her mother’s untimely death.
“You b*****d, how dare you speak to your mother that way.” “Mr Robert, the last time I checked, my mother died long ago, if she doesn’t care about turning into a ghost, she can continue taking herself as my mother.”
“You!” Her father had not finished his sentence before she said, “if you don’t have anything you want to say to me, I’m hanging up. I have some important things to do.” After saying that she hung up.
Without caring about how her stepmother would slander her again to her dad, she left for the hotel after changing her shoes.

Raymond’s hands could be seen flying through his Apple laptop as he continued typing. He had been like this for some hours now. He had been busy with a business proposal he should have finalised some days ago, but due to one thing or the other, it was delayed. Thanks to his friends that didn’t allow him to drink too much yesterday, if not, he won’t be himself by now.
“Boss, something happened.” Lucas barged into his office without permission. Without looking at him, he continued what he was doing as he said, “how many times have I warned you not to barge into my office like that again.”
As if he remembered something, Lucas cowered as he apologised. “I’m sorry sir, it’s just that I saw something and I think it’s important you know about it.” Taking his eyes off his work, he stared at Lucas for some seconds which made him shivered.
And what would that be, he asked. “It’s Miss Lina, she is being bullied online. It’s just that most people can’t cope with cyberbullying, and with her soft personality, I think she won’t be able to deal with it.”
Sitting calmly on his seat as there were no noticeable changes in his expression, Raymond thinks about the little woman whom everyone thinks is weak, but he knew that was just a facade. Even though he had known her just for a day, his meeting with her shows that she isn’t a soft person.
“And what’s my business with that? Did you think what’s happening in her life has anything to do with me?” He said coldly as he sent a chilly gaze at him. Lucas felt his back get wet as he felt some sweat dripping from his back soaked his clothes.
“I’m sorry sir, I thought since you guys are partners, you would be concerned about this, since it will also have a negative effect on you when your relationship is made public.” ” Don’t worry, I will deal with it.” He said as he waved his hand at Lucas to dismiss him”.
Little kitten, let’s see how you would deal with this little problem. Smiling sweetly to himself, which he also didn’t notice, he continued doing his work.

As Lina left the house, she decided it won’t do her any good to go out like this. After five minutes of walking, she stopped in front of a twenty four hour convenience store. She entered as she planned to buy a nose mask and a baseball cap so as to use it to disguise herself.
She didn’t know who might recognize her in public, even though she is not a public figure, she feared what those crazy people would do to her if they recognized her.
After putting on her disguise, she went to settle her bills before leaving the store. Without noticing someone was watching all her movements as he snapped her pictures and sent them to someone, she kept moving until she flagged a cab and got into it, making her way to the hotel.
As she reached the hotel, she went to the counter to check in. Since she needs to verify her identity, she had to remove her disguise. Thank goodness, people were not much there, and the attendance seemed very calm when she saw her. It’s either she always didn’t surf the internet or she was being professional, but she settled for the latter because who doesn’t surf the internet for gossip news nowadays.
After checking in, she didn’t stay long in the room, before she found her way to the security room. Looking at the tightly shut door, she was thinking about how she could distract the people inside so she would be able to go in.
As she was thinking, the security room was opened by someone from inside. As he saw her standing not too far from the door, he suspected that she was the person the higher ups called to tell them to allow access to the security room.
“Good day Miss, please come in.” Seeing as how she was allowed to enter the security room without even explaining herself, she suspected that someone is helping her behind the scene, because it could not be luck that’s making things easier for her since coming in here. She guessed who the person was, but she kept that at the back of her mind for the time being.
“Thank you,” she thanked the man before she entered the room. After telling them what she wanted to get, she didn’t use up to thirty minutes there before she got what she wanted as she left the room after thanking the people who helped her just now.
Looking at the flash drive in her hand was like she had seen her saviour, her eyes beamed with joy. No one would like to be cursed by everyone, even though you know you are not guilty. Clearing her name is her top priority for now. Let’s see how you two will deny this to the public. Smiling as she said this, she went back to the room she checked into.
