“Raymond, stop drinking, if your old sickness flares up, I don’t think I will be able to do much. It’s not that you are not allowed to drink alcohol, it’s just that you are not allowed to take too much alcohol.” Dylan said.
Listening to his friends, Raymond decided not to take alcohol anymore. Not long after that, Dylan’s phone rang. He excused himself to pick up the call.
After Dylan left, everywhere was silent. “Ehn! big brother, you told me to look up on someone for you. Who is she?” Nicholas asked, breaking the silence.
Jayden, who doesn’t understand what Nicholas was talking about, took his gaze from Raymond to Nicholas as if saying, don’t keep me in the dark, which girl is that?
Doing as if he didn’t see Jayden probing gaze, Nicholas went to sit beside Raymond. Since Jayden is occupying the right hand side of Raymond, Nicholas decided to occupy the left empty space.
Raymond, who had forgotten about Lina at the moment, remembered immediately. Nicholas’ question put him in a corner. He didn’t know how he would tell his friends about what transpired between him and Lina.
Coming here was to let them know about how he wanted to take revenge on his ex-girlfriend, and not to discuss him and Lina’s matter. Since he received the message about Ashley’s arrival, there is nothing he is thinking of, other than to take revenge. His mind was so messed up that he forgets about his contracted wife.
“It’s just a random girl I spent the night with yesterday. We were both drugged, and it just happened. Since I saw that I don’t feel disgusted by her like the other girls, I decided to have a one year contracted marriage with her.”
“And since my family has been on my nerves recently about me looking for a partner, I decided to just have a contract marriage with her since she also needs my help on something.” Raymond explained in one breath.
Clang! A sound of something falling down could be heard. Dylan who just went out to receive a call was the one that came in. On his arrival, he heard what Raymond was saying to his friends.
With shock evidence in his eyes, he didn’t know when he let go of the cell phone in his hand. He was not the only one shocked about what he said. Even Jayden and Nicholas were shocked. Thanks to the well covered floor, the thick rug protected the phone from being damaged.
Who would have known that their friend, who they thought hasn’t gotten laid since the last five years, had something going on behind their back.
It was Jayden that broke the silence after registering all that Raymond said just now. “Are you for real, just because you slept with her, you want to marry her. Are you trying to be responsible for her or what?”
“For your information it’s contracted marriage, it’s not real.” Raymond repeated.
“And how is that different, what if you fall in love with her along the line, or won’t you guys be living together? As if he remembered something, he said; don’t tell me she is part of your plan in dealing with Ashley.”
The corner of Raymond’s eyes crinkled as he listened to Jayden. Noticing Raymond’s reaction as he said that, Jayden knew his confirmation was true. He wants to use the girl as part of his revenge on his ex-girlfriend.
“You can’t just use someone like that with your personality, I knew you would go all out to achieve your goal, and if you later fall for that girl, the person that will suffer the consequences will still be you.”
Listening to what Jayden says, Raymond’s lips curled up as he says; “did you think I’m stupid to fall in love with some random girl? Don’t worry I don’t plan on falling for another woman after what happened the last time.” He said this with hostility in his voice.
“Oh Raymond! You are hopeless, did you think falling in love is something you can control, and by the way, why this girl out of all the girls that has been introduced to you.”
“If not that you felt something for her, I’m sure you won’t enter this contract marriage with her even if you need her for your so-called revenge. You would have looked for a random person without the attachment of a contract marriage,” Jayden thought as he looked deep into the matter.
“That’s it, I knew that big brother won’t fall for someone so easily unless something is wrong. By the way, have you looked into the person that drugged you? Did the person drug you for some selfish reasons?” Nicholas asked.
Dylan, who was still standing by the door, came in after picking up his phone. After understanding all they were talking about, he told them about his call that something came up at the hospital.
His attention is also needed immediately. Knowing that Nicholas would tell him about everything in detail, he didn’t bother staying any longer after waving them goodbye.
After Dylan left, Raymond told Nicholas not to worry about the person that drugged him. The matter had been settled. Thinking about what he found out from Lucas this morning, he couldn’t help but curse his grandfather in his heart for drugging him.
