She was contemplating on whether to call the number or not when she heard someone calling her name from the hallway.
“Lina!” She had not replied before the person barged into the room. Looking at the intruder, she smiled as she walked up to her. “Hi Aunty,” she said as she went to embrace her.
“God bless you my dear.” The Aunty said. After saying that she frowned as she said, “Lina, you are getting married to my son today, why are you still calling me Aunty?” She asked Lina.
That’s right, it was Daniel’s mom that came into her room. She felt guilty looking at the woman. If there was anyone who treated her genuinely in the Frederick mansion, it would be this woman standing in front of her. “I’m sorry Aunty,” Lina said. The woman thought she was pleading for what she was scolding her for, but Lina knows her apology is deeper than that.
“Come on dear, what are you apologising for, let’s go, your groom is waiting for you at the altar.” Hearing this makes her heart skip a beat, she knows that if she doesn’t want to suffer in the future, it’s her decision now that will determine her lifetime happiness.
Daniel’s mother took hold of her hand as she took her out of the room. Seeing Lina’s tensed body, she chuckled. “Don’t be nervous, this is one of the stages every woman would be happy to pass through in life.”
On reaching the hall where the wedding procession is taking place, she could see all the guests seated in the well decorated hall. She could also see the media snapping and capturing all activities going on in the hall. Looking at the front row before the altar, she could see her father and step mother laughing as they talked about something she doesn’t know about. Mira was also sitting beside them.
During occasions like this, it was her father that should have come to get her from her room, so he can walk her down the aisle, but he doesn’t have her time at all. He is busy with her step mother. Seeing this, she felt a pang of pain in her chest. This also makes her miss her mom so much.
Since this wedding won’t take place anyways, according to her plan, she felt it was not necessary to feel the pain of not having someone who genuinely cared for her in her family. This will be the last time she thinks about them. All her pain will be buried in the deepest part of her heart.
Looking towards the altar, she could see her groom standing on the altar as he waited for her there. Wearing a blue suit, he looks as handsome as Lina could remember. Seeing the man she fell in love with three years ago, who is supposed to be her husband some minutes later, even though he betrayed her trust by scheming against her, she still feels pain in her heart thinking about what he has done.
“Look, the bride is here,” someone from the media said, since their wedding is well known due to the sunshine group (Daniel’s family company) always broadcasting the news, the media are already on standby in order to capture this happy moment.
Hearing this makes the media go crazy as they took pictures of Lina from different angles. The guest also turns their head in order to look at the bride’s entrance. Seeing the beautiful and elegant girl, who was dressed in white wedding dress that compliments her beauty, the guests started talking among each other.
“Wow, the bride is so beautiful. Where did she get her dress from, I would love to get one for my daughter’s wedding,” said the guest.
“Her groom is so lucky to have her as a bride. Even looking at this face everyday while waking up would brighten my day,” another person said.
Different types of comments kept echoing in the hall. At this moment, Daniel feels proud of himself. A smile could be seen hung on his lips.
Everything going on was captured by the media. Some were broadcasting it live, which makes people on social media following the updates of the wedding also give positive comments about the bride.
Seeing this scene, Lina’s family was not happy about this, especially Lina’s step mother and sister. They were so angry that they felt like they were sitting on pins as they watched people complimenting Lina.
“Let’s see how far you can go being proud after all your mother’s properties are collected from you after this wedding.” Mira’s mother maliciously said while gnashing her teeth. She nudged Lina’s father who was sitting beside her as she said, “won’t you stand up to walk your darling daughter down the aisle.” She said sarcastically.
This brought Jason out of his reverie, he stood up and went to take Lina hand as he walked her down the aisle. There is a smile hung on his lips. He couldn’t describe the feelings he has for this daughter, he just knows that he loved Mira more than he loved her.
Putting her hand on Daniel’s stretched out hand, he hit him on his shoulder lightly as a form of acknowledgment before walking back to his seat.
The guest thought he was emotional about marrying his daughter off, that’s why he didn’t say anything to Daniel.
Not long after, the wedding started as the priest came to the altar. He looked at both of them before saying;
“Daniel, did you take Lina Robert as your wife in health, sickness, wealth, lack of money, happiness, sadness till death do you apart?”
This was the moment people had been anticipating. Everyone sat right for this scene.
“Yes I do,” Daniel said. People started releasing the air they have been holding in.
“Lina, did you take Daniel Frederick as your husband in health, sickness, wealth, lack of money, happiness, sadness till death do you apart?”
Staring at Daniel with a smug smile on her lips, Lina said, “No I don’t.”
