close to you

Aurora sat on the edge of the bed, her eyes fixed on Damian as he stood by the window, reading over some documents. The soft glow of the evening light framed his figure, and she couldn’t help but smile to herself. He looked so focused, his sharp jaw set as his eyes scanned the papers.
“Damian,” she called softly, her voice light and playful.
He turned, raising an eyebrow. “Yes, Aurora?” he asked, his tone calm but curious.
She grinned, patting the space on the bed in front of her. “Come sit with me,” she said sweetly.
Damian’s brow furrowed slightly, but he set the papers down and walked over to her. “Is everything okay?” he asked, sitting down, his gaze studying her.
Aurora leaned forward, her knees brushing against his. “Everything is fine,” she said, her voice low. “I just… wanted to spend some time with you.”
Damian smirked, shaking his head. “We’ve been together all day, Aurora,” he said. “What are you up to?”
She giggled softly, sliding forward until she was kneeling between his legs. Her hands rested lightly on his thighs as she looked up at him, her eyes playful. “Maybe I just missed you,” she teased.
Damian let out a soft laugh, leaning back slightly. “Missed me? I’m right here, Aurora.”
Her fingers traced small circles on his thighs, and her grin widened. “You know what I mean,” she said, her tone flirty. “I missed this… being close to you.”
Damian’s expression softened, but he still looked amused. “Aurora,” he said gently, “you’re still recovering. You shouldn’t be moving around so much.”
She leaned forward, wrapping her arms around his neck. “I’m fine,” she whispered, her lips close to his ear. “And you’re avoiding the topic.”
He chuckled, shaking his head. “What topic is that?”
Aurora pulled back just enough to look into his eyes, her lips curving into a mischievous smile. “You know what I mean,” she said softly. “We haven’t… been close in a while.”
Damian’s eyes widened slightly, and he placed his hands gently on her arms. “Aurora,” he said, his tone cautious, “you just had a baby. Your body needs time to heal.”
She pouted playfully, her fingers brushing through his hair. “I feel fine,” she insisted. “And I miss you. Don’t you miss me?”
Damian laughed, his hands moving to her waist to steady her. “Of course I miss you,” he said, his voice warm. “But this isn’t about what I want. It’s about what’s best for you.”
Aurora tilted her head, her pout deepening. “So you don’t want me?” she teased, pretending to be offended.
Damian rolled his eyes, his grip on her waist tightening slightly. “Don’t even try that,” he said, his tone playful. “You know that’s not true.”
She leaned closer, her lips brushing against his cheek. “Then prove it,” she whispered, her voice soft and teasing.
Damian groaned, shaking his head. “Aurora, you’re impossible.”
She giggled, pressing a kiss to his jaw. “I know,” she said. “But you love it.”
He sighed, his hands moving up to cup her face. “I do,” he admitted, his voice full of affection. “But I’m serious, Aurora. You need to take it easy.”
Aurora’s smile softened, and she rested her forehead against his. “I just want to feel close to you,” she said quietly. “Everything feels so different now. The baby, my parents coming back into my life… I just want something that feels the same.”
Damian’s heart ached at her words, and he pulled her into a gentle hug. “You’ll always have me,” he said firmly. “That will never change.”
Aurora sighed against his chest, her fingers playing with the collar of his shirt. “I know,” she said. “But sometimes, I just want to feel it.”
He tilted her chin up, his dark eyes locking onto hers. “You’re everything to me, Aurora,” he said. “But I need you to listen to me right now. You’ve been through so much, and your body is still healing. I won’t risk anything happening to you.”
Aurora frowned slightly but nodded. “Fine,” she said reluctantly. “You win this time.”
Damian smiled, pressing a soft kiss to her forehead. “Thank you,” he said. “You’ll see-it’s worth waiting for.”
She rolled her eyes but smiled, leaning into his embrace. “You’re lucky I love you,” she said, her voice teasing.
He chuckled, holding her close. “I’m the luckiest man in the world,” he said.
They sat like that for a while, wrapped in each other’s arms. Aurora’s playful energy faded into quiet contentment, and Damian’s protective nature softened into pure adoration. Even without words, the love between them filled the room.
