I’ve Missed You!

Book:A Broken Ex Wife's Revenge Published:2025-2-8

Rina trembled at the thought of losing her beauty, especially at the hands of Kayla, her archenemy. She would never understand what she had done to warrant such treatment from someone who she had never offended in any way, shape, or form, but had decided to be a pain in her ass.
“You don’t want to get caught by the cops and serve a jail term, do you?” She threatened Kayla who looked unperturbed, yet filled with vengeance and cascaded with cruelty. She was sure that, at that moment, no one could stop her from misbehaving.
“Don’t come an inch closer!” Rina warned out of fear as Kayla cackled, relishing her victim’s cries. This was exactly what she wanted from her and it was a lovely sight to behold.
“Aww, poor Rina. I hope you can live with the consequences you brought upon yourself. I know that you must have been through a lot but here is my verdict. No one is going to save you from me. Absolutely no one, no matter how much they try. The earlier you get this into your head, the better for you, and we won’t have any problems.” She mentioned.
Rina, seeing that this was becoming very serious, muttered prayers under her breath as she hoped that an intervention had occurred. She couldn’t think of anything in particular but could only hope that things didn’t go awry.
“Do you have anything else to say before I send you into perpetual ugliness? Let’s see how you intend to beat me at my game?” Kayla threw her head back in laughter, watching Rina squirm in her seat in apprehension.
“Maybe I shouldn’t just ruin your face alone, I Should cause intense damage so that we can be on par. I’m sure you understand that this is just a repercussion of everything you’ve done, right? I mean I would never want to hurt anyone except they had decided to steal from me without feeling any ounce of remorse?” She claimed.
Rina went mute seeing that she was unreasonable and it was going to be futile to keep on arguing with someone who wanted to cause you harm. Continuous discussions were only going to lead her into massive problems, which she would try as much as possible to avoid.
Kayla’s expression turned grim when she realized that she was not going to have the attention she needed. “Since there is no response I guess it’s time for me to go ahead so that you don’t think I’m joking with you.” She flung her threat.
Rina had decided not to beg for her life; she just needed a minute to deal with this lady fair and square.
The blast of sirens in the air had Kayla jumping away from her. Her eyes widened considerably as she glanced at Rina, who was overflowing with hope. It was finally happening, she was about to be free from the clutches of this hellish woman.
“How did the cops know that I am here?” Kayla muttered to herself in confusion as she dropped the rod in panic, forgetting that she had a major goal and was supposed to deal with it squarely.
She rushed to the windows and peeped, hoping that it was only a coincidence but to her chagrin, they had been surrounded.
Looking for the next means of escape so that she didn’t lose her reputation among the ton, she gazed at Rina. “I will make your life a living hell if I realize that you are working with them.” She threatened trying to hide her panic.
Rina felt more hopeful that salvation was coming and she was finally going to be free from Kayla.
As she opened her mouth to talk, the door burst open, and a few cops barged in, with their guns pointing directly at the culpritKayla.
“Drop that iron right now.” The team lead commanded.
Kayla gazed around slowly, searching for the best way to escape. The weight of the implication weighed in on her heart as she sought an explanation that would suffice.
If only she had been able to damage Rina’s skin, she wouldn’t have to be in the situation where she had to beg for her life. She had made a huge mistake in life.
“I’ve not done anything wrong.”
“I urge you not to speak in the absence of your lawyer because your words can be used against you.” The cop answered her, with his finger safely placed on the button, in readiness to shoot. “I also urge you to cooperate so that I don’t need to blow off your brains.” They threatened her.
Kayla confronted them as usual but this time decided not to push her luck until she met with her lawyer as she had been advised that was the only way she could be free from this mess. “I’ll make sure to get back at all of you!” She yelled as handcuffs were placed on her wrists.
Rina breathed happily that everything was finally taking shape but was still confused about how they were able to tail her and get her right address. “Thank you so much for coming right on time. I wouldn’t know what to do if you had not come in the time you did.” She said, gushingly.
“I think you have someone to thank but it’s not us.” One of the cops answered with a ghost of a smile.
Who? She thought.
The answer came in the form of her contract husbandZayn, “Oh my god, Zayn, thank you so much for coming to my aid when I needed it.” She expressed gratitude.
Zayn didn’t speak instead went on to free her bound hands. “I wasn’t about to let you go, not now, not ever.” He responded calmly before hugging her.
“I’ve missed you.” He breathed into her skin softly. “I don’t want to be away from you tomorrow anymore.” He whispered.
“Me too.” She responded.
