What Did You Do?

Book:A Broken Ex Wife's Revenge Published:2025-2-8

Nathan could finally breathe when Zayn moved away from him and settled between his parents, getting actively involved in their conversation. They looked at him like the star child, the one person who never brought disappointment to the family, and it made Nathan so angry. He looked on still, the happiness in their eyes at the expansion, Mr. Graham patting Zayn on the back for getting engaged, the laughter in their voices as they spoke with Rina, who in her charismatic nature, happened to charm everyone around her, only if she had crossed you out as an enemy previously.
A lot of things had slipped out of his control, and Nathan was pissed with everyone but himself. He never looked inward. Not paying close attention had cost him a lot. Still, he knew that even though he’d had his nose pressed up against his younger brother’s business, he wouldn’t have been able to tell. For one, where the hell had Mago been for the last couple of years, and why did it feel like Zayn had been in communication with her for that long, leaving him out of it? Or perhaps, Nathan was the one who never showed interest in the well-being of their sister, or even in her existence.
Nathan had had no way of knowing she had been assigned the job of financial expert in the new branch in Hong Kong, while he’d been there all along, trying to get Zayn to give him something. In his royal entitlement, Nathan thought Zayn must have had a lot of guts bypassing him to a sister who wasn’t even fully related to them. They only shared the same mother, so how could Zayn have forgone a full familial relationship for a step?
The mere thought brought anger to his bones, and Nathan didn’t think he could stay there a minute longer without bursting into flames. Getting up from his seat, he tried to quietly sneak out of the hall. But even if he had made a ruckus about it, getting on his feet and screaming at the top of his voice that he was heading out, no one would have minded. Or cared really. Maybe his parents, because they still held out hope that he was going to change. That by some miracle, Nathan would stop looking for trouble where there was none.
His feet hit the ground in an annoying fashion as he crossed the space and got out into the night, the thick air clinging to his face immediately. Nathan felt the need to hit something or someone. But he couldn’t afford to sleep in a cell that night in a foreign land as that would cement his already shaky relationship with his parents. So instead, he crossed the road and stepped into the club on the other side, the neon lights calling out to him in an ethereal fashion.
In there, Nathan was at home, the darkness of the room putting him at ease. Sweaty bodies moved to the beat, their hips swaying from side to side while their partners, or the guests in the club who were in need of the heat of bodies, moved to them, groping them provocatively. But the girls didn’t mind. At least, for some of them, it was what they wanted exactly.
Finding a table with the lowest light pouring through, he waved a bartender over and ordered three shots of tequila, settling into the chair. He already had wine, but that wasn’t strong enough for Nathan. He was in his head right then that consciousness didn’t do it for him. He needed to figure out his next move, what to do to get Zayn out of his way. Nathan couldn’t afford to lose to his younger brother, even though to the rest of the world, he was in a competition with himself. This was a setback but Nathan didn’t have any plans of remaining on the floor. It was the only thing he had in common with Zayn the ability to never give up.
The door opened but Nathan didn’t look up until the pair of heels stopped in front of me. He looked up to see Jada watching him, her eyes angry. It made his d** jerk in excitement. Even though Nathan had told himself he wasn’t going to let Jada warm his bed until she managed to get him what she wanted from her union with Zayn, he couldn’t help the feeling that washed through him.
He could imagine it already, missed it even the sound of her moans bouncing all over the walls, her ass on his hands as she rode him to the ends of the earth and back, her wild hair that made her have a stunning sex appeal that tended to drive every man crazy. Nathan could see how the eyes feasted on her in the club. If given the chance, they would happily give their last penny to see her on their beds.
He couldn’t understand how Zayn had been able to resist her until now.
No one could deny the fact that Rina was a goddess in her looks and Jada could never compare.
“Jada.”
“Is that all you have to say?” She spat. “You call my name and think that is it. You told me you had it under control, that all I had to do was get Zayn to myself tonight and make him agree to be at least friends while I worked on seducing me. So why couldn’t you keep your own end of the bargain? He proposed Nathan, in front of everyone. Now, I really do not stand a chance.”
“You’re making a hell of a noise,” Nathan murmured, already feeling a migraine coming along. “And if you want to talk to me, sit down. You standing over there, your cleavage enticingly in my face, isn’t making me think straight right now. We could either talk about this or get a room so I can feel your tits on my face. I’m down for whichever you prefer.”
Jada’s lips parted to say something, the anger in her eyes increasing. But she snapped it shut and plopped down onto the stool in front of him. “Now, what the fuck did you do?”
